Aaron Judge will be a full participant when the New York Yankees open full-squad workouts on Monday, manager Aaron Boone said Sunday.

The star outfielder was bothered by a flexor strain in his right elbow for the last two months of the 2025 season. It didn't stop him from leading the majors with a .331 batting average and posting 53 homers and 114 RBIs while winning his third career American League MVP award.

"I think he took a couple of weeks off from throwing, but he was going right away," Boone said of Judge. "And I think that's kind of served him really well. He's throwing the ball really well right now."

Boone said the plan is to have Judge play in four or five of New York's first nine spring-training games before he leaves to join Team USA on March 1 for the World Baseball Classic.

The injury limited Judge to 95 games in right field last season. He went on the injured list in late July and he ended up serving as the designated hitter 56 times. He returned to the outfield late in the regular season.

Judge, who turns 34 in April, is a seven-time All-Star. He is a career .294 hitter in 1,145 games with 368 homers and 830 RBIs since reaching the majors with New York in 2016.
