Field Level Media

Paul George scored 30 points and Tyrese Maxey added 29 as the Philadelphia 76ers snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 132-129 win over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.

In a game that featured 18 ties and 30 lead changes, Philadelphia placed all five starters in double figures, as well as rookie Justin Edwards (15 points) off the bench. Kelly Oubre Jr. (22 points), Eric Gordon (15) and Guerschon Yabusele (12 points, 13 rebounds) also made key contributions for the Sixers.

Ty Jerome scored a career-high 33 points on 8-of-8 3-point shooting for Cleveland, which has lost back-to-back games for just the second time this season. Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 37 points, while Darius Garland pitched in with 26 points and seven assists.

Jerome made back-to-back 3-pointers to give Cleveland a 116-110 lead with just over six minutes left before Philadelphia responded with 13 straight points. The 76ers subsequently led by as much as eight, but the Cavaliers had a chance to tie at the buzzer, when Mitchell's wild heave near midcourt fell short.

Grizzlies 139, Pelicans 126

Jaren Jackson Jr. produced 29 points and seven assists and Luke Kennard added a season-high 27 as the host Memphis beat New Orleans for its fifth straight. The Pelicans had their season-best four-game win streak snapped.

Desmond Bane added 20 points -- his seventh straight game with at least 20 -- and 14 assists for the Grizzlies, who improved to 18-5 at home.

Dejounte Murray led New Orleans with 26 points to go with seven assists and six rebounds, while CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy III scored 22 points each.

Trail Blazers 102, Hornets 97

Anfernee Simons poured in 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter and visiting Portland overcame early rough stretches to beat short-handed Charlotte.

Jerami Grant cranked out 22 points, Deni Avdija had 18 points, reserve Shaedon Sharpe added 13 points and Toumani Camara posted 11 points as the Trail Blazers shook off some ragged shooting and a 13-point second-quarter deficit. Portland finished at 40.5 percent from the field, including 11-for-38 (28.9 percent) on 3-point attempts en route to its fourth consecutive win.

Nick Smith Jr.'s 17 points and Josh Okogie's 16 points and 10 rebounds led the Hornets. Mark Williams provided 15 points and nine rebounds, Josh Green had 14 points, and Vasilije Micic notched 12 points.

Player Notes
Ty Jerome Sat Jan 25 12:00am

Cavaliers' G Ty Jerome scored 33 points on 11-of-14 shooting in a 129-132 loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Jan. 24. Jerome is owned in only 5.6% leagues.

Trae Young Fri Jan 24 9:10pm

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Toronto Raptors. Young appears to have picked up a hamstring injury during Thursday's contest. As a result, Young is listed as questionable for this game which could leave a big void to fill in the rotation. The expectation is that the Hawks would use a committee approach if Young is unable to go. That means, Vit Krejci, Dyson Daniels, and Bogdan Bogdanovic would all see more playing time on Saturday. Between the three, Bogdanovic is the best fantasy option due to his scoring ability.

Josh Hart Fri Jan 24 9:00pm

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings. Hart has been dealing with a neck injury, but the right knee issue is a new one for him. It's unclear where he picked it up, but Hart is now in danger of sitting out this weekend. If that happens, Miles McBride and Cameron Payne would likely both see increased roles in the rotation. Both players have been playing minutes in the teens recently, so they haven't offered much fantasy value. However, McBride could be worth a look if Hart is unable to play.

Immanuel Quickley Fri Jan 24 9:00pm

Toronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (hip) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. This lingering hip issue will force Quickley to miss his sixth game in a row. The Raptors haven't given a clear timetable on Quickley's return, but the hope is that he'll be back soon. In the meantime, Gradey Dick and Bruce Brown figure to continue seeing increased roles in the rotation. Both players are well worth a look as streaming options with the Raptors shorthanded right now.

Goga Bitadze Fri Jan 24 8:50pm

Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The big man has missed each of the last five games due to a concussion. The fact that Bitadze is tagged as questionable gives some hope that he'll be able to return to the court here. If not, Wendell Carter Jr. figures to continue seeing big minutes in the rotation. Carter has played 30 minutes or more in four of the last five games. During that span, Carter has finished with a double-double in three of those contests. He's worth rostering with the Magic banged up at the center spot right now.

Jalen Suggs Fri Jan 24 8:50pm

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs (back) has been upgraded to questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Suggs has missed the last 10 games as he has been sidelined for multiple weeks due to a back issue. The fact Suggs is being listed as questionable for Saturday gives some hope that he could return to the court. If that happens, Suggs would likely be under a minutes limit which would give him less appeal in DFS contests. Both Anthony Black and Cole Anthony (illness) have been playing bigger minutes with Suggs sidelined. Anthony is questionable as well for Saturday, so Black is looking like a popular fantasy option if both guards are unable to play.

Ben Simmons Fri Jan 24 8:40pm

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons (illness) is considered questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Miami Heat. Simmons has missed the last three games as this appears to be a lingering illness. His absence in the rotation has given Keon Johnson and Reece Beekman an increased look in the rotation. Between the two, Johnson is the better streaming choice after a 20-point outing during Wednesday's game. The Nets are banged up right now, so Johnson is worth looking at as a low-end streaming choice right now.

Cole Anthony Fri Jan 24 8:40pm

Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Anthony has missed each of the last two games due to a lingering illness. The fact he's still listed as questionable means Anthony is in legitimate danger of missing a third straight game. Anthony Black has been playing big minutes for the Magic recently. In fact, Black has played 30 minutes or more in four of the last six games. Black is worth a look as a streaming option with the Magic banged up at the guard spot right now.

D'Angelo Russell Fri Jan 24 8:30pm

Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell (personal) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Miami Heat. Russell sat out of Wednesday's game due to a left hamstring issue, but now is on the injury report due to personal reasons. The good news is, Russell appears to have put the hamstring injury behind him, but he still remains uncertain for this game. The absence of Russell should mean an increased workload for Keon Johnson, Ziaire Williams, and Tyrese Martin. Johnson is the strongest streaming choice between the three at the moment.

Cameron Johnson Fri Jan 24 8:10pm

Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (ankle) won't play on Saturday against Miami. The 28-year-old has been dealing with a sprained ankle, and he's only appeared in just two of Brooklyn's previous 10 contests. It's a tough blow for the Nets, especially since he's having the best year of his career. But while he is on the shelf, Noah Clowney, averaging 11.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 16 starts during the 2024-25 campaign, will likely remain with the first five. Clowney's upside could rise even higher if D'Angelo Russell (personal) and Ben Simmons (illness), who are both questionable, aren't available.

Klay Thompson Fri Jan 24 8:00pm

Dallas Mavericks forward Klay Thompson (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's NBA Finals rematch with the Celtics. Thompson has missed the last two games because of a sprained ankle. But he's not the only Maverick on the injury report, with Dereck Lively II (ankle), Naji Marshall (illness), Dwight Powell (hip), and Luka Doncic (calf) all sidelined. In addition, Jaden Hardy (ankle) is questionable. If Thompson remains on the shelf against Boston, Quentin Grimes, averaging 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 12 starts during the 2024-25 campaign, will likely continue to fill his spot in the rotation.

Dejounte Murray Fri Jan 24 7:20pm

New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray (elbow) has been upgraded to available for Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Murray will continue to play through an elbow injury. Possibly due to the injury, Murray has struggled to score efficiently lately, but he has continued to play big minutes and should do so again on Friday night. With Ja Morant (illness) sidelined, Murray will have fewer defensive responsibilities, allowing him to conserve energy that should benefit him on offense.

Ja Morant Fri Jan 24 7:10pm

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (illness) will miss Friday's action against the New Orleans Pelicans. He is feeling under the weather and has been downgraded from questionable to out. Scotty Pippen Jr. has regularly stepped in for Morant throughout the season and is set for another start. His numbers usually receive a significant boost when he joins the first unit, as Pippen Jr. has averaged 13.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals while starting.

Santi Aldama Fri Jan 24 7:10pm

Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Santi Aldama (illness) will come out of the lineup for Friday's meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Spaniard exited Wednesday's contest against the Charlotte Hornets early due to an illness and still isn't feeling well enough to play. It remains uncertain whether Aldama will recover quickly enough to be available on Saturday against the Utah Jazz. With Aldama out, Brandon Clarke, Jay Huff, and GG Jackson II will provide frontcourt depth. However, these three players have not delivered consistent fantasy value in 2024-25.

Toumani Camara Fri Jan 24 7:00pm

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara (illness) has been listed as available for Friday's contest against the Charlotte Hornets. He initially had a probable designation on the injury report due to an illness. Camara returned from a one-game absence with a strong performance on Thursday against the Orlando Magic, producing a full line with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. However, his recent efforts also include two games with zero points, which shows that the 24-year-old can be very inconsistent.

Kris Murray Fri Jan 24 7:00pm

Portland Trail Blazers forward Kris Murray (chest) is set to play on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets. He recently suffered a chest contusion. However, Murray managed to play through the injury on Thursday against the Orlando Magic and is ready for action again on Friday after ditching a questionable tag. In Thursday's blowout victory over Orlando, Murray recorded six points and three rebounds in 12 minutes. He serves as an additional option off the bench for the Trail Blazers but does not provide any value for fantasy managers.

Anfernee Simons Fri Jan 24 6:50pm

Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (back) will be active for Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. He has been upgraded from probable to available despite dealing with back soreness. Simons is aiming for his third consecutive game with 20-plus points. He has broken out of a slump in impressive fashion, making nine three-pointers over the past two games. Charlotte allows the seventh-most three-point attempts in the league, giving Simons a good opportunity to keep building momentum.

Caris LeVert Fri Jan 24 6:40pm

Cleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Caris LeVert (wrist) is not yet ready to return to the lineup on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The team has downgraded him from questionable to out, marking his third consecutive absence. His next chance to return will be on Saturday against the Houston Rockets. The rest of the Cavaliers bench will continue to absorb LeVert's minutes, with Ty Jerome being the most attractive fantasy option.

Anthony Edwards Fri Jan 24 6:40pm

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (illness) is questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Nuggets. The 23-year-old hardly appears on the injury report. It's also rare that he misses time. But Edwards is not feeling well, so he's in danger of missing his first game of the 2024-25 campaign. If he's not out there against Denver, Mike Conley, Jaden McDaniels, and Julius Randle will likely benefit on the scoring end. The same can be said for Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who would presumably enter the starting lineup.

Donovan Clingan Fri Jan 24 6:40pm

Portland Trail Blazers center Donovan Clingan (ankle) will return to the lineup as a starter on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets. Deandre Ayton (knee) and Robert Williams (hand) are both out for the contest, so we should see plenty of Clingan in action. Jabari Walker and Duop Reath will provide backup at the center position. In his previous eight career starts, Clingan has averaged 8.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks in 22.9 minutes.
