Nuggets’ Peyton Watson (knee) out 4 weeks

Mon Feb 3 1:02pm ET
Field Level Media

Denver Nuggets swingman Peyton Watson will be sidelined at least four weeks with a knee sprain.

The team said Monday that Watson sustained the injury in Friday's win at Philadelphia. He missed Saturday's three-point win at Charlotte. He'll be reevaluated in four weeks, the team said.

Watson, 22, is averaging a career-best 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 48 games (12 starts) this season. He's averaging a career-high 24.1 minutes per game.

The Nuggets acquired Watson in a draft-night trade with Oklahoma City in June 2022. He was selected No. 30 overall in the draft.

Player Notes
Jalen Williams Mon Feb 3 2:20pm

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams (wrist) is in danger of missing his second consecutive game due to a wrist sprain on Monday. He's officially listed as questionable for their matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. He's only been forced to miss two games so far this season despite popping up on the injury report a number of times. If he's unable to suit up again, Aaron Wiggins would likely join the starting five again and see big minutes. In their game against the Sacramento Kings, Wiggins filled in valiantly by posting 41 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists across 39 minutes.

Nikola Vucevic Mon Feb 3 12:30am

Chicago's C Nikola Vucevic recorded a triple-double, finishing with 20 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds in a 119-127 loss to Detroit on Sunday, Feb. 2.

Kevin Huerter Sun Feb 2 9:50pm

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Bulls, Kings, and Spurs agreed to a three-team trade on Sunday, resulting in guard Kevin Huerter, guard Tre Jones, and forward/center Zach Collins heading to Chicago. Also included in the trade; the Kings will acquire guard Zach LaVine and guard Sidy Cissoko, with the Spurs obtaining guard De'Aaron Fox and guard Jordan McLaughlin. Huerter played in Atlanta for four seasons before most recently suiting up for the Kings. He had the best year of his career in 2022-23, averaging 15.2 points and 40.2% shooting from behind the arc. However, the 2018 No. 19 overall pick has struggled since then, and he was also limited to 64 games last season due to a shoulder injury. But with Chicago now without LaVine, there is room in the lineup for others to step up. While LaVine's departure likely means Coby White, Josh Giddey, Ayo Dosunmu, and Nikola Vucevic (assuming he remains on the roster) will see more scoring opportunities, Huerter has an excellent chance of being more productive as long as he remains healthy.

Zach LaVine Sun Feb 2 9:30pm

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Kings, Spurs, and Bulls completed a three-team deal on Sunday night, resulting in guard Zach LaVine (and guard Sidy Cissoko) being dealt to the Kings. Also included in the trade; guard De'Aaron Fox and guard Jordan McLaughlin will head to San Antonio, with the Bulls acquiring forward Zach Collins, guard Tre Jones, and guard Kevin Huerter. After years of trade rumors involving LaVine, he will now suit up for the third team of his career. The 29-year-old is a two-time NBA All-Star, averaging 20.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 38.7% shooting from behind the arc in 622 regular-season contests. Unfortunately, injuries have plagued LaVine throughout his career, with the 2014 No. 13 overall pick logging over 70 games just three times in the previous 10 seasons. But if he can stay healthy, LaVine is capable of helping the Kings make a deep postseason push, especially now that he will be playing alongside Domantas Sabonis and former Bulls teammate DeMar DeRozan.

De'Aaron Fox Sun Feb 2 9:20pm

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Spurs, Bulls, and Kings completed a three-team deal, resulting in guard De'Aaron Fox (and guard Jordan McLaughlin) heading to San Antonio. Also included in the trade; Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, and Tre Jones will move to Chicago while the Kings will add Zach LaVine and Sidy Cissoko to the roster. The 2017 No. 5 overall pick has spent his entire career in Sacramento, averaging 21.5 points, 6.1 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 514 regular-season games. Reports regarding Fox's desire to head to the Spurs intensified over the last few weeks. But he'll get his wish and will now be paired with up-and-coming center Victor Wembanyama and future Hall of Fame guard Chris Paul. Fox should continue to get his minutes, and it's likely a change of scenery will give him added motivation to be even more productive moving forward. With that in mind, having Fox on the roster should mean less work for Stephon Castle, although the rookie could benefit in the years ahead now that he's playing alongside and learning from another All-Star.

Peyton Watson Sun Feb 2 8:50pm

Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson (knee) will be sidelined for a second straight game on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Watson logged 27 minutes in Friday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers but was ruled out on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets due to a knee sprain. With Russell Westbrook (hamstring) also out, Julian Strawther and Jalen Pickett are in a position to log additional minutes. However, the two youngsters have not been consistent enough to be considered viable fantasy options.

Russell Westbrook Sun Feb 2 8:40pm

Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook (hamstring) will not take the court on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans. After suffering a hamstring strain, Westbrook has to sit out a second straight game. His absence has allowed Christian Braun to re-enter the starting lineup, and he excelled in Saturday's win over the Charlotte Hornets, notching a 24-point, 11-rebound double-double while picking up a couple of steals. Braun has averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.5 steals in two previous meetings with the Pelicans this season.

Naz Reid Sun Feb 2 8:30pm

Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Naz Reid (finger) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings. A finger injury limited Reid to 20 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Washington Wizards, and he may have to sit out Monday's contest entirely. Reid took Julius Randle's (groin) starting spot on Saturday, and Luka Garza might now be the next man up. Garza has been dominant in the G League but has made a limited impact in the NBA, averaging 5.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.3 minutes.

Taurean Prince Sun Feb 2 8:20pm

Milwaukee Bucks forward Taurean Prince (knee) is good to go for Sunday's contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. Milwaukee has upgraded Prince from probable to available. The 30-year-old boasts a proud record of having played in every game this campaign. With Bobby Portis (personal) unavailable, Prince has recently taken on a larger role in the rotation, logging 30-plus minutes in three of the past four games. He has provided low-tier fantasy value during that stretch, averaging 9.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.0 steals.

Gary Trent Jr. Sun Feb 2 8:20pm

Milwaukee Bucks guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. (hip) is good to go for Sunday's action against the Memphis Grizzlies. He hurt his left hip flexor in Friday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs, but Trent Jr. has been cleared to play after the team initially regarded him as probable for the contest. Trent Jr. boosted his scoring average to 10.8 points last month but had a rough outing on Friday with 1-for-7 shooting and two points. On Sunday, he might experience another frustrating night, as Memphis owns the seventh-best defensive rating in the league.

Brook Lopez Sun Feb 2 8:10pm

Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez (back) will play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. The veteran big man is dealing with back soreness. However, Milwaukee has upgraded Lopez from probable to available, keeping his ironman streak alive. It's been close to 12 months since the last time Lopez wasn't in the Bucks lineup. The 36-year-old will aim to produce a bounce-back performance on Sunday. He missed all three attempts from deep and settled for only six points in Friday's 144-118 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Khris Middleton Sun Feb 2 8:10pm

Milwaukee Bucks small forward Khris Middleton (ankle) will suit up for Sunday's contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. The former All-Star is ready for his fifth consecutive appearance after being initially labeled as probable for the game. Middleton's most recent efforts have fluctuated. He's produced a pair of 20-point games while also going scoreless twice. Last time out against the San Antonio Spurs, Middleton enjoyed a red-hot shooting night, putting up 21 points with an 8-for-9 record from the field.

Damian Lillard Sun Feb 2 8:00pm

Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard (groin) will make an 18th consecutive appearance on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies. He is officially available for the game after initially having a probable designation on the injury report. Lillard was limited to a season-low four points in this season's first clash against Memphis, so he might have a point to prove on Sunday. The star guard has recently had a strong spell, bagging a pair of triple-doubles and averaging 27.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 8.4 assists over the past five games.

Ja Morant Sun Feb 2 7:50pm

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's clash against the Milwaukee Bucks. He will be sidelined for a third time in five games after initially carrying a doubtful tag. Scotty Pippen Jr. has mostly filled in for Morant during his absences this season, but the Grizzlies went with Luke Kennard in the starting unit for the last game. He didn't disappoint, putting up 22 points on very efficient 9-for-15 shooting in a 120-119 win over the Houston Rockets. Pippen Jr. logged only 12 minutes off the bench in the game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Sun Feb 2 7:50pm

Milwaukee Bucks forward/center Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) will remain in the lineup for Sunday's tilt against the Memphis Grizzlies. Right patella tendinopathy continues to keep Antetokounmpo on the injury report, but he hasn't had any problems playing through the issue. Entering Sunday, the Bucks superstar has racked up four consecutive 30-point double-doubles, and he also had one in this season's first meeting with the Grizzlies, notching 37 points and 11 rebounds in a heavy 122-99 loss on Oct. 31.

Anthony Edwards Sun Feb 2 7:40pm

Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards (illness) is considered questionable for Monday's tilt against the Sacramento Kings. Edwards missed his first game of the season on Saturday against the Washington Wizards when he was feeling under the weather. Minnesota has also lost Julius Randle (groin), which places a lot more responsibility on other players on the offensive end. Jaden McDaniels led the way in Saturday's 105-103 loss with a team-high 23 points and 12 rebounds. Meanwhile, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who made only his fourth start of the campaign, logged the most playing time for Minnesota with 41 minutes.

Victor Wembanyama Sun Feb 2 7:30pm

San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. He dropped out of the lineup on Saturday against the Miami Heat due to an illness and may be forced to miss a second consecutive game. Charles Bassey started in Wembanyama's place and produced a decent showing. He gobbled up 15 rebounds while notching nine points with one block in 27 minutes. At the same time, Devin Vassell played a larger role offensively, taking 22 shots, while his season average is 14 shot attempts per game.

Josh Hart Sun Feb 2 7:20pm

New York Knicks guard/forward Josh Hart (knee) remains questionable on the injury report ahead of Monday's meeting with the Houston Rockets. Hart has been on the report for a couple of weeks now, but he hasn't missed any action since Dec. 19. Despite dealing with a sore right knee, Hart racked up a 26-point triple-double against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. He will likely remain in the lineup on Monday, but fantasy managers should check for updates before tip-off. The Knicks are entering a back-to-back and may choose to rest Hart for one game. Miles McBride and Landry Shamet could then take on heavier workloads.

Clint Capela Sun Feb 2 7:10pm

Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela (back) has been ruled out for a fourth consecutive game ahead of Monday's tilt against the Detroit Pistons. The Swiss pivot is struggling to shake off back spasms. Capela's fantasy stock recently took a hit when he was relegated to the bench, and the injury is a new blow for him. Larry Nance Jr. has regained a spot in the rotation with Capela out. However, the versatile veteran hasn't been very impactful, averaging 3.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 18.3 minutes over the past four games.

Bogdan Bogdanovic Sun Feb 2 7:00pm

Atlanta Hawks guard/forward Bogdan Bogdanovic (personal) will not suit up for Monday's contest against the Detroit Pistons. He has been scratched for the past four games for personal reasons and remains away from the team. Bogdanovic's next chance to return will be on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. Vit Krejci and Garrison Mathews have logged additional playing time with Bogdanovic unavailable. However, they haven't provided consistent value to fantasy managers.
