Free-agent quarterback Carson Wentz will work out for the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports. Since going second overall to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 draft, Wentz has combined for 98 appearances (94 starts), completed 62.7% of passes, and thrown 153 touchdowns against 67 interceptions for five different teams. The former star, 32, has settled into a backup role over the past couple of years and spent 2024 behind Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. The Vikings have a clear-cut starter in J.J. McCarthy, a first-round pick in 2024 who will debut this year, with Sam Howell, Brett Rypien, and Max Brosmer in reserve. Howell and Rypien each bring experience to the table, but Brosmer - an undrafted rookie from the University of Minnesota - was easily the most impressive of the three in the preseason. If the Vikings keep Brosmer and sign Wentz, the latter could bump one of the other veteran QBs off the roster.

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright (undisclosed) was spotted on the field heading into Saturday's preseason meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He wasn't using crutches, although he had a compression sleeve on his left leg. The 22-year-old suffered an apparent injury at practice on Thursday. While there haven't been any updates regarding Wright's health, it appears he at least avoided a serious injury. With De'Von Achane (calf) dealing with an injury of his own, Wright could find himself starting in Week 1 versus the Colts. However, there's still a few weeks to go, so it's too early to speculate. With that said, if Achane or Wright aren't available, Ollie Gordon II may jump to the top of the depth chart.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Desmond Ridder finished with 75 yards and an interception off 8-for-20 passing in Saturday's loss to the Colts. He added two carries for 10 yards and a touchdown. The signal-caller hasn't done much of relevance throughout the preseason. However, he may have done enough to at least earn a spot on the roster for the Bengals Week 1 AFC North clash with the Cleveland Browns. Still, with Joe Burrow and Jake Browning in the equation, Ridder won't be useful for fantasy purposes.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (thumb) says he'll be ready to go for the Week 1 opener versus the Detroit Lions on September 7. The signal-caller recently underwent surgery on his non-throwing thumb. He returned to practice on Monday, albeit in a limited capacity. Fortunately, it's been good news for Love since his return from the minor surgery. He took a step back in 2024, tossing for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions off 268-for-425 passing (63.1%). Love also found the end zone once on the ground. The 26-year-old has plenty of weapons at his disposal on the offensive side of the ball. However, Love will need to stay healthy. The Packers also have one of the more challenging schedules in the National Football League, which is another thing going against him. With that said, fantasy managers should wait for the official update from the team regarding his availability for Week 1.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (illness) won't play in Saturday's preseason finale versus the Buffalo Bills. The signal-caller appeared in one game this preseason, throwing for 85 yards and two touchdowns off 6-for-11 passing in the meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bridgewater's absence should mean more work for Kyle Trask and rookie Connor Bazelak. However, as long as Baker Mayfield is healthy and on the field, the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart will remain mostly irrelevant for fantasy purposes.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns running back Pierre Strong Jr. (concussion) left Saturday's 19-17 preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams to be evaluated for a concussion. Strong carried five times for 25 yards before exiting and has shown well throughout the preseason while competing for a roster spot. The 26-year-old back is battling with rookie Dylan Sampson for depth behind Jerome Ford, while the team's decision on unsigned rookie Quinshon Judkins could also impact Strong's future. His status will be worth monitoring as cut day approaches, but any missed time would hurt his chances of securing a role in Cleveland.
From RotoBaller
Quarterback Ben DiNucci announced on X on Saturday that he was released by the Atlanta Falcons. The 28-year-old was best known for his time with the Dallas Cowboys, where he threw for 219 yards in three games. Since then, he has had several unsuccesful stints with other clubs around the National Football League. The Falcons have Michael Penix Jr. as their starting quarterback. Veteran Kirk Cousins is listed behind him on the depth chart, at least for now. As a result, the team cut ties with DiNucci, who stated a "career update" would be coming. It's unknown if he plans to remain in the NFL, assuming there's a team willing to sign him. However, his fantasy value can't get any lower. That's not expected to change anytime soon.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo (undisclosed) left Saturday's preseason game after colliding with teammate Tyler Hall on a punt return. Bobo jogged to the locker room under his own power but did not return. The 6'4", 207-pound receiver sits behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tory Horton, and Cooper Kupp on the depth chart but has carved out a steady role on special teams, appearing in every game since 2023. After posting 13 receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown last season, Bobo was aiming to expand his role on offense in 2025. His injury status remains worth monitoring.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton delivered a strong performance in Saturday's 28-19 preseason win over the New Orleans Saints, hauling in four receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. Sutton has consistently been drafted in the fifth to sixth round range of fantasy leagues and remains the clear WR1 in Denver's offense. With second-year quarterback Bo Nix showing steady development, Sutton is positioned to thrive as the focal point of the passing game. Playing in the high-scoring AFC West, Sutton profiles as a reliable mid-round option with upside as a weekly fantasy starter in 2025.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton (knee) exited Saturday's loss to the Colts. He did not return. The wideout injured his knee during the Bengals' preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles and didn't play in the Monday Night Football clash with the Washington Commanders. Burton managed to suit up for the preseason finale, although he caught only one of his four targets for 16 yards before his premature departure. Head coach Zac Taylor couldn't provide an update while speaking after the game, so fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day. However, Burton's fantasy outlook doesn't look promising even if he gets a positive update about his knee, especially since he's expected to be at least the No. 4 receiver on the depth chart behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Andrei Iosivas. If anything, he'll get most of his work on special teams.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton (knee) exited Saturday's preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts after aggravating a lingering knee issue. Burton caught one pass for 16 yards on four targets before leaving in the second quarter. Head coach Zac Taylor did not offer a timeline for Burton's return, leaving his Week 1 status in doubt. The second-year player sits behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Andrei Iosivas on the depth chart, but was expected to contribute as a rotational receiver and return man. For now, Burton is a speculative stash only in deeper fantasy formats.
From RotoBaller
According to Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, quarterback Lamar Jackson (foot) will practice on Monday. However, Harbaugh added (with a smile on his face) that it could change if the signal-caller "doesn't want to." He was injured during Wednesday's practice after his foot was stepped on. Fortunately, X-rays came back negative, so he should be good to go moving ahead. Jackson is coming off a strong 2024 campaign, throwing a career-high 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns. He also tossed only four interceptions and added four more scores on the ground while finishing just 85 yards shy of the 1,000-yard rushing mark. Baltimore has a tougher schedule compared to most of the teams around the National Football League, meaning Jackson may not be as productive. Still, he's a top-tier fantasy quarterback and should have a place in the MVP conversation all season, assuming he stays healthy.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos quarterback Sam Ehlinger handled the final three quarters of Saturday's 28-19 preseason win over the New Orleans Saints, completing 22 of 31 passes for 181 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Ehlinger capped his outing by connecting with Kyrese Rowan on a five-yard score, but also absorbed three sacks along the way. While he showcased poise and flashes of playmaking ability, inconsistency remains a concern. With Bo Nix firmly entrenched as the starter, Ehlinger is competing to lock down the backup role. Cut day is approaching, and his roster spot remains on the bubble.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix looked strong in Saturday's 28-19 preseason win over the New Orleans Saints. The second-year passer led three drives, finishing 10-of-14 for 110 yards and a touchdown strike to Courtland Sutton. After guiding Denver to a playoff berth as a rookie, Nix enters 2025 with heightened expectations. The front office added key offensive weapons in RJ Harvey, J.K. Dobbins, and Evan Engram to aid his development. While some growing pains are expected, Nix's poise and efficiency give fantasy managers reason for optimism as he looks to take another step forward this season.

Dynasty | Cowboys quarterback Joe Mixon completed 10-of-18 passes for 132 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions Dynasty Analysis: Milton struggled mightily last week, so this was a good step forward for him. While he hasn't looked anything like a player who could keep Dallas afloat should Dak Prescott be injured, he at least looked capable this week. Milton will continue to develop and has a spot on dynasty benches in a Superflex league.
Dynasty | Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez had 34 rushing yards in his final preseason game. Dynasty Analysis: The most notable part of this game was likely the fact both Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Austin Ekeler were inactive, possibly indicating they are now the top two running backs on the team. Rodriguez did a good job of making his own case for touches as he did his damage on just five carries. This backfield could end up being a bit of a jumbled mess, but Rodriguez is a player who could carve out a role and should be rostered in all leagues.
Dynasty | Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa had two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown in Detroit's final preseason game. Dynasty Analysis: That gives TeSlaa a final preseason line of 10/146/3 in limited action. Not bad for a third round rookie who most thought was completely overdrafted in April. While it's only the preseason, TeSlaa has made a strong case to be part of the receiver rotation early in his career. In short, he could push Tim Patrick early this year for touches behind the likes of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta. His rookie ADP is slowly rising.
Dynasty | Broncos running back RJ Harvey had four yards on three carries in Denver's final preseason game. Dynasty Analysis: This brings Harvey's total number of carries to 13 on the preseason, yielding 47 yards and a score. Most importantly, he started the game before giving way to players like Audric Estime. Harvey looks like he'll have a solid role for Denver, though the usage of JK Dobbins will be a huge factor in determining if he'll be a fantasy starter early on. Harvey is a solid late first round rookie pick but also one you likely can't start in week one unless Dobbins is somehow out.
Dynasty | Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 5-of-8 passes for 48 yards in New Orleans' final preseason contest. Dynasty Analysis: Rattler led the team on three drives, two that yielded field goals. Tyler Shough again couldn't get much going in terms of yardage, tough neither had a yards per attempt of over six on the day. This is a very uninspiring quarterback room at the moment but it seems Rattler likely has the leg up to start on opening day with a leash that would likely be pretty short. Shough just hasn't done enough to unseat him, despite Rattler looking like an NFL backup for most of the Summer.
Dynasty | Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough completed 12-of-20 passes for 102 yards and added 11 rushing yards and a touchdown in his final preseason game. Dynasty Analysis: Shough again seemed to play it safe and try to manage the game and limit mistakes. It's not a terrible path to go down as a rookie quarterback but we also failed to see anything resembling a franchise-level quarterback from him all Summer. At this point, it would be surprising to see Shough named the starter in New Orleans over Spencer Rattler and he's likely going to spend the first part of the year developing. He remains a decent roster stash but one dynasty managers aren't really getting that excited about right now.
