Since being acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles in early September, running back Tank Bigsby has seen minimal usage. Heading into Week 8, Bigsby had seen just two total touches. However, that changed in Week 8 after Eagles RB1 Saquon Barkley (groin) was forced to exit the game early due to a groin injury. Bigsby recorded nine carries for 104 yards against the New York Giants with Barkley sidelined for a significant portion of the second half of the game. The Eagles have their bye week in Week 9, and Barkley reportedly appears confident that he'll be healthy enough to play in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers. The bye week limits Bigsby's fantasy appeal, but he's still a name to monitor as long as there's any question about Barkley's health status. For deep-league managers with an available roster spot, stashing Bigsby through the bye week could pay dividends if Barkley's injury ends up being worse than it initially seems.

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte scored his fourth touchdown in his last three games in Week 8, recording three catches for 75 yards and a score on five targets against the Cleveland Browns. The 23-year-old has now hauled in 23 catches for 431 yards and five touchdowns on 30 targets across eight games so far this season. Boutte has been a big-play merchant for New England, averaging 18.7 yards per reception. Perhaps most encouraging for his fantasy outlook, Boutte has led Patriots wide receivers in snaps in each of the team's eight games. Boutte's average of 3.8 targets per game leaves something to be desired. Still, with his explosive play ability and playing time floor, he profiles as a boom/bust deep league flex option and could be a player to target on the waiver wire heading into a Week 9 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jaylin Noel has been a breakout player in recent weeks, recording 11 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown on 16 targets over his last three games played. Noel has benefited from the absence of veteran wide receiver Christian Kirk (hamstring), who has missed Houston's last two contests. If there's reason for concern with Noel, it's that he's yet to crack 45% of his team's offensive snaps this season, even in the games that Kirk has missed. He appears to be limited to working from the slot, which limits his playing time ceiling. Noel is a young player with upside, so he's definitely a name to monitor in deeper fantasy leagues. Still, it may be difficult for him to maintain his production in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos, particularly if one or both of Kirk and Nico Collins (concussion) return to the field.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins had the best game of his young NFL career in his team's Week 8 win over the San Francisco 49ers, recording four catches for 34 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. The 22-year-old has now hauled in 13 catches for 155 yards and two scores on 21 targets. Before Week 8, Higgins had not earned more than four targets in any game this season. It's worth noting that veteran Texans wideouts Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) were both sidelined against San Francisco, which certainly factored into Higgins' breakout game. However, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has attempted 88 passes over the team's last two games, which could signal that there will be more opportunity for Higgins even when Collins and Stroud return. In deeper leagues where available, Higgins could be worth stashing for his second-half breakout potential.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has had a disappointing second season in some respects, recording just 227 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown across six games played. However, Tracy Jr. could now find himself back in a lead role in the Giants' backfield after star rookie running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) suffered a season-ending dislocated ankle in Week 8. Tracy Jr. was productive as a rookie in 2024, recording 1,123 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns on 230 touches across 17 games (12 starts). The Giants could also give veteran Devin Singletary some touches, but Tracy Jr. should be expected to dominate touches. In any fantasy league where he is available, Tracy Jr. is a must-add player off the waiver wire heading into a Week 9 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney caught one of his four targets for 11 yards in their 34-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Mooney was set up for a potential big game with No. 1 wide receiver Drake London (hip) ruled out, but Atlanta struggled to sustain any offense as veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins filled in for an injured Michael Penix Jr. (knee). Mooney finished a distant third on the team in targets, with tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. leading the way with nine and veteran wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge coming in right behind him with eight targets. Mooney is a name to watch on the waiver wire despite the down game because of the injury to London. His status will be updated in the coming days. If he's sidelined again for Week 9 against the New England Patriots, Mooney should be in line for additional targets and could also benefit from Penix's potential return for the road matchup.

The Baltimore Ravens could be disciplined by the league after violating the NFL's injury report policy regarding Lamar Jackson, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke on the issue and said it was "an honest mistake." Jackson was originally listed as a full participant in Friday's practice ahead of their Week 8 matchup against the Bears after being listed as limited for the Wednesday and Thursday practices. However, Jackson only ran the scout team on Friday, and then the Ravens later changed his Friday practice participation to limited on Saturday and ultimately ruled him out for Week 8 as he continues to work back from a hamstring injury. More news will certainly follow in the coming days on this story. Jackson is currently expected to suit up for their Thursday night matchup against the Dolphins, but Tyler Huntley will be in line to make his second start if he is unable to go.

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season after suffering a dislocated ankle in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's a brutal blow for an up-and-coming Giants team. Skattebo was already off to a hot start in Philadelphia, handling three carries for 12 yards and catching one of his two targets for an 18-yard touchdown. The rookie out of Arizona State was having a remarkable rookie campaign to this point, recording 101 carries for 410 yards and catching 24 of 32 targets for 207 yards, in addition to seven total touchdowns. Skattebo's season will end with him averaging 16 PPR points per game, and he will be a tough player to replace for fantasy managers. Second-year back Tyrone Tracy Jr. is now expected to step back into the lead role for the Giants and should be a priority add off the waiver wire this week.

The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to sign former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Lockett to a deal today, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Lockett reunites with both quarterback Geno Smith and Pete Carroll, who spent a few seasons together with the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran wideout played a small role over seven games in Tennessee, catching just 10 of his 21 targets for 70 yards and no touchdowns. He recorded 894 yards and five touchdowns in his last season under Carroll with the Seahawks in 2023, and will be hoping to carry over some of that success for a Raiders offense that is last in the league in points scored. However, Lockett is unlikely to become relevant in 12-team redraft leagues.

Xavier Legette totally disappointed fantasy players who used him as a lineup plugger in Week 8. The former first-round pick was targeted only three times by Andy Dalton and caught two passes for 17 yards. In a blowout loss to Buffalo, He carried none of last week's momentum over. When Bryce Young was the starter in Week 7, Legette caught. nine passes for 92 yards and a TD. Dalton naturally prioritized Tetairoa McMillan, and Coker had three targets to Legette's two as the backup QB struggled mightily in a 31-point loss. Head coach Dave Canales mentioned that he hopes Young will be back for Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. If Young returns next week, the Panthers could be more statistically productive playing from behind vs. Green Bay. But the recent return of Coker may also prevent Legette from being useful at all. Outside of Week 7, Legette has not caught more than three passes in a game this season. He is a cut candidate for Week 9.
From RotoBaller
In Sunday's 40-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Rico Dowdle had his worst fantasy performance since Week 4, netting 5.4 fantasy points. He was scripted out of the mix and finished with 54 rushing yards on just eight carries and did not catch a pass for the first time this season. Dowdle outrushed Chuba Hubbard 54 to 34 on four fewer rushing attempts. He was the most efficient runner for Carolina, averaging 6.8 yards per carry and recording a longest run of 24 yards, so he still has starting appeal when the Panthers can stay in a game. He should continue to split work nearly evenly with Hubbard, and there is a danger that Dowdle's production could be capped in another one-sided loss next week. Green Bay will come into Week 9 aiming for a fourth consecutive win. In their past four games. the Packers have scored between 27 and 40 points, and Carolina likely cannot keep up with that scoring pace.
From RotoBaller
Chuba Hubbard delivered another underwhelming fantasy performance in Week 8. The fifth-year running back rushed for 34 yards on 12 carries, although he did slightly pad his mediocre totals with a garbage-time TD in the fourth quarter. Hubbard finished with 9.4 fantasy points and had 12 carries to Rico Dowdle's eight. He averaged just 2.8 yards per carry, though, while Dowdle was at 6.8 per attempt. Hubbard remains an inefficient runner this season, as it was his third consecutive game with less than 50 rushing yards and his fourth straight with less than 10 fantasy points. The outlook for Hubbard is not likely to improve much in Week 9's matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have reeled off three straight wins and scored 27-plus points in their last four games. He's not much of a factor in the passing game if the Panthers must work from behind again. Hubbard will be a somewhat shaky flex option for Week 9.
From RotoBaller
Jalen Coker caught three of four targets for 36 yards in Carolina's Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The second-year WR posted the second-most receiving yards of any Carolina pass-catcher, caught the longest pass at 22 yards, and finished with 6.6 PPR fantasy points. This was the first game of the season in which Coker contributed in the passing game since missing the first six weeks with a hamstring injury. Coker was targeted four times as a clear afterthought behind Tetairoa McMillan. While Coker was pinpointed as a fantasy sleeper in the preseason, he should be reserved until he starts to provide adequate totals. The Panthers might work in catch-up mode again next week, and he may fare better if Bryce Young returns. Carolina could be more statistically productive vs. Green Bay with the regular starter back at QB.
From RotoBaller
Andy Dalton went 16-for-24 for 175 yards with no TD passes and three turnovers in the Carolina Panthers' 40-9 loss on Sunday. The 15-year veteran had a miserable day, as he was sacked seven times, threw an interception, and fumbled twice. Before this week's matchup against Buffalo, the Panthers' QBs had not been sacked more than three times in a single game. In Dalton's first outing as the starting QB this season, the Panthers registered a season low in points and only put up a garbage time TD in the fourth quarter. Head coach Dave Canales said after the game that Bryce Young was close to suiting up for the game vs. Buffalo, suggesting that Dalton may not start in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. It could be another situation where Carolina falls behind, as Green Bay has scored 27-plus points in its last four games. If Young is the starter, he should only be used as a QB2 in superflex formats.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 29 of his 37 pass attempts for 360 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay got out to a bit of a slow start on primetime television, but the Packers ultimately outscored the Steelers 28-9 in the second half to pull off a two-possession victory. Love showcased a great rapport with tight end Tucker Kraft, as the two connected for seven completions, 143 yards, and a pair of touchdowns. The 26-year-old now ranks 13th among quarterbacks in fantasy points per game. He is a top-12 fantasy option heading into a favorable Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught five of his six targets for 99 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He led the way as Miami pulled off an improbable upset victory on the road. Waddle has now tallied at least 95 receiving yards in three of his last four games, and he has a touchdown in two of those four contests. As much as the Dolphins' offense has struggled this year, Waddle has been able to maintain fantasy relevance, especially after Tyreek Hill (knee) went down. He is now the overall WR13 in PPR leagues this season, and he should remain a fantasy-relevant receiver regardless of whether Miami has the lead or is playing from behind. He could feast again next week against the Baltimore Ravens, who just surrendered seven catches and 114 yards to Rome Odunze. Waddle remains a solid WR2 option heading into Week 9.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft caught seven of his nine targets for 143 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. His two scores came from 16 and 24 yards out, respectively, but perhaps his best play of the game was a 59-yard reception in the third quarter. The 24-year-old was a main reason why the Packers were able to erase a 16-7 deficit and come back to win 35-25. After a highly successful showing on National Tight Ends' Day, Kraft now ranks as the overall TE2 in PPR leagues through eight weeks -- and he ranks first in terms of fantasy points per game. He should be started in all leagues ahead of next week's matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields completed 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 244 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also rushed for 31 yards on 11 rushing attempts. Fields bounced back in a big way after his Week 7 benching, extending his streak of starts without an interception to 10. The mobile quarterback still remains on a relatively short leash with Tyrod Taylor (knee) available to take over at any time. However, for the time being, it seems Fields has saved his job. He should remain the starter when the Jets return from their bye to face the Browns in Week 10.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud completed 30 of his 39 pass attempts for 319 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 8 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He also rushed for 30 yards on seven rushing attempts. Outside of the one turnover, Stroud had a very strong performance, setting a new season-high in passing yards while leading Houston to a victory at home. The 24-year-old has been playing better lately, amassing nine touchdowns and two turnovers over his last four games. He ranks as the overall QB9 in fantasy points per game during that span. Managers should be generally optimistic about Stroud going forward, but he might rank outside the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks in Week 9 against a Broncos defense that just dismantled Dak Prescott.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones completed 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 272 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also took three sacks along the way. Jones' career resurgence in Indianapolis continues, as he now has 17 total touchdowns and just three turnovers in 2025. The 28-year-old ranks as the overall QB6 in fantasy football, showcasing an impressive blend of passing talent and mobility. He should remain a must-start fantasy quarterback heading into next week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just surrendered 360 yards and three touchdowns to Jordan Love.
