The Los Angeles Rams have informed veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp that he will be released on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The team looked to trade the 31-year-old this offseason but was unable to come up with a deal. Now, Kupp will hit the open free-agent market, where he will be free to sign with any organization. After being selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Eastern Washington, Kupp registered 634 catches for 7,776 yards, and 57 touchdowns in 104 career games over eight seasons. He won NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 after logging 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. While Kupp has battled lower-body injuries and is likely past his prime, he provided some strong performances in 2024 and totaled 67 catches for 710 yards and six scores. There should be plenty of free-agent interest for the former first-team All-Pro.

Veteran free-agent quarterback Marcus Mariota is signing a one-year deal to return to the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans spent last season with Washington and primarily backed up Jayden Daniels. Mariota threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in three games a season ago. While Mariota clearly has no path to the starting job, he will be on the fantasy football radar in deep Superflex or two-QB leagues as a deep bench stash. Should Daniels have to miss any time next season, Mariota would have at least low-end QB2 upside playing with wideouts Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. along with tight end Zach Ertz in Kliff Kingsbury's offense.

Dynasty | The Seahawks have signed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Dynasty Analysis: MVS will join a depleted receiving corps and could carve out a role, especially considering he will reunite will offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, whom he worked with in New Orleans. He's a speedster and likely better used in best ball leagues, but he should at least be on dynasty radars at the moment and would be roster worthy should Seattle to fail in their venture to add more quality to their pass catching group.
Dynasty | The Chargers have re-signed wide receiver Jalen Reagor. Dynasty Analysis: Reagor has been a fun player to track but only because he seems to be hanging on for dear life after once being a first round draft pick back in 2020. He spent most of last year on the Chargers practice squad and while he may have a chance to carve out a roster spot, any dynasty allure he had has long since evaporated. He can stay on waivers at the moment.
The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement with former Cleveland Browns cornerback Mike Ford Jr. on a two-year, $4 million contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Ford spent the last two seasons in Cleveland, totaling 41 tackles (33 solo), one fumble recovery, one interception, and two pass deflections in 33 games. The Southeast Missouri State product went undrafted in 2018 before landing with the Detroit Lions and had a one-year stint with Atlanta in 2022. He has started in 10 of his 94 NFL contests and will likely be a depth piece of Atlanta's secondary in 2025, assuming he makes the active roster.
From RotoBaller
Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN reporter Nick Wagoner. Brown has collected 74 total tackles, two interceptions (one pick six), and eight pass deflections in 39 career games since being selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. Wagoner believes Brown will be a key contributor on special teams and could push for the No. 3 cornerback role in San Francisco. The 49ers are shedding several key veterans this offseason, so Brown will be tasked will helping fill the holes heading into the 2025 NFL campaign.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing defensive lineman Greg Gaines to a one-year, $3.5 million deal, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Gaines spent the last two seasons with Tampa following four campaigns with the Los Angeles Rams. Overall, the 2019 fourth-round pick out of Washington has accumulated 163 tackles (73 solo), 12.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and 20.5 run stuffs in 91 career contests (30 starts). He registered 17 total tackles and one sack in 15 games for Tampa Bay last season. He'll continue to operate as a depth piece along the Buccaneers' interior defensive line in 2025.
From RotoBaller
Free-agent linebacker/defensive end Rashad Weaver has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Jets, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Weaver was a fourth-round draft choice by the Tennessee Titans in 2021 out of Pittsburgh and registered 49 tackles (29 solo), 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 33 career games during the first three years of his career. He spent last season with the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Rams, primarily as a practice squad member. He played in three games for Houston but did not log a stat. Weaver likely has an uphill battle to make the Jets' 53-man active roster in 2025.

The Buffalo Bills are signing former Washington Commanders safety Darrick Forrest, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The 2021 fifth-round pick out of Cincinnati spent the first four years of his career with Washington and totaled 137 tackles (84 solos), four interceptions (all in 2022), nine pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in 40 career games (17 starts). He was primarily utilized as a special-teamer and depth piece on the secondary for Washington, which will likely be his role in Buffalo. He has started in just six games over the last two seasons.
From RotoBaller
The Buffalo Bills restructured the contract of defensive lineman Ed Oliver, creating $10 million in salary cap space by adding void years to the end of his deal. The former No. 9 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft signed a four-year, $68 million contract in 2023 following his rookie contract, and the Bills executed a simple restructure to provide immediate cap flexibility. In 92 career games, Oliver has compiled 231 tackles (144 solo), 27 sacks, seven forced fumbles, one interception, 14 pass deflections, and 45.5 run stuffs. While he has not lived up to his top-10 draft status, he's been a strong presence along Buffalo's defensive front since entering the NFL.
From RotoBaller
Free-agent linebacker Troy Dye is signing back with the Los Angeles Chargers on a two-year deal worth up to $8.5 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 28-year-old was originally a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings out of Oregon and spent the first four seasons of his career there before one season with the Chargers. Last year, he racked up 57 tackles (34 solo), 1.5 sacks, and two run stuffs in 17 games (five starts). Dye will continue to provide depth for the Los Angeles defensive led by up-and-coming defensive coordinator Jesse Minter in 2025.

Free-agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is signing with the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The 30-year-old is set to join his fourth team in three years after posting 17 receptions on 35 targets for 385 yards and four touchdowns in eight games with the New Orleans Saints to close out the 2024 campaign. MVS was originally a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of USF and has totaled 205 catches for 3,566 yards, and 20 touchdowns in 106 career games. While the veteran is unlikely to be a consistent fantasy producer, he could have spike weeks in Seattle's new-look offense led by Sam Darnold. With DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett out of town, Valdes-Scantling could have the opportunity to start in three-wide sets from Day 1 of the 2025 NFL season.

Former Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Michael Pierce is retiring from the NFL, the 32-year-old announced on Wednesday. Pierce went undrafted out of Tulane in 2016 before signing with Baltimore and making an immediate impact. He played four seasons with the Ravens before signing with the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, though he opted out of the season due to COVID-19 concerns. He returned to Baltimore for the last three campaigns of his career. Overall, Pierce racked up 238 tackles (136 solo), 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, six pass deflections, and 24.5 run stuffs in 99 career games.

The Miami Dolphins are re-signing linebacker Tyrel Dodson to an undisclosed two-year deal on Wednesday, a source tells ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques. Dodson signed a one-year, $4.2 million deal last offseason with the Seattle Seahawks but was released after nine games. Miami then claimed him off waivers, and he started three of his nine games with the Dolphins in 2024. The 26-year-old had his first career interception in his first start and he finished the year with a team-high three picks. Dodson was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 17 after he had 15 tackles and an interception against the Cleveland Browns. The former undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M had a career-best 107 tackles (59 solo), two sacks, five tackles for loss, three picks, six pass breakups and a forced fumble in 17 total games with Seattle and Miami last year.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports on Wednesday that the most likely outcome for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is a release since he came out and said the week before the Super Bowl that the Rams were looking to trade him. This mostly has everything to do about Kupp's contract. Although he has lost some gas in recent years due to lower-body injuries, there is expected to be a strong market for the 31-year-old veteran, mainly because of how weak the free-agent market is at the position. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Kupp's release is expected to come on Wednesday. Rapoport thinks Kupp will find a new team quickly, mainly because teams knew that he'd be available this offseason. Since Kupp won the receiving Triple Crown in 2021, he has missed 18 games due to injuries and hasn't been the same. However, depending on his landing spot, Kupp could still have plenty of fantasy potential if he stays on the field.

The Kansas City Chiefs restructured the contract of defensive tackle Chris Jones on Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. In addition to Jones, the Chiefs also restructured quarterback Patrick Mahomes' contract to free up $49.446 million in salary cap space for this year. In recent weeks, the Chiefs placed the franchise tag on offensive guard Trey Smith and re-signed linebacker Nick Bolton and wide receiver Marquise Brown. This week in free agency, KC added offensive tackle Jaylon Moore and cornerback Kristian Fulton. The 30-year-old Jones has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last six seasons and has been a first-team All-Pro in each of the last three seasons as one of the best defensive tackles in the league. However, after recording 26 sacks in 2022 and 2023, Jones had only five sacks in 15 regular-season starts in 2024.

The Buffalo Bills agreed to terms to re-sign safety Damar Hamlin on an undisclosed one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hamlin, who famously went into cardiac arrest on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals on a Monday night game in 2022, will stick around in Buffalo for a fifth season after collecting 89 tackles (62 solo), his first two career interceptions, a career-high five pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 14 regular-season starts in 2024. At the very least, the 26-year-old defensive back will provide depth in Buffalo's secondary, but depending on what the team does the rest of the offseason, Hamlin could be in line to start at safety in 2025. The former sixth-round pick in 2021 out of Pittsburgh has 184 career tackles (129 solo), 1.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine pass breakup, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in his four seasons.
From RotoBaller
FOX Sports' Ralph Vacchiano reports that free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers is deciding between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. He's also hoping that the Minnesota Vikings will get involved. The fallback option for both the Steelers and Giants appears to be Russell Wilson. If Rodgers signs with the Vikings and Wilson re-signs with Pittsburgh, the Giants would then be left with options such as Jameis Winston, Joe Flacco and Marcus Mariota. They'd almost certainly take a QB in the upcoming draft with the third overall pick or trade up to No. 1 to get one. A source insisted that Rodgers' decision was all about the situation and fit, not the money. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer is expected to make his decision on Wednesday. Rodgers would have a nice receiver duo of DK Metcalf and George Pickens in Pittsburgh, although he still figures to be no better than a midrange QB2 in fantasy wherever he lands.

Dynasty | The Steelers have signed running back Kenneth Gainwell. Dynasty Analysis: This is a little bit of an under the radar signing, but it could prove to be significant should the Steelers fail to add much else to their backfield. Gainwell has been effective in spurts throughout his career but never had more than 84 carries or 364 yards in his career. However, the backfield currently consists of a 1-2 punch that includes Jaylen Warren and Gainwell himself. His dynasty value is in flux right now and could rise significantly if this is what the Steelers enter the season with in their backfield. Stay tuned.
Dynasty | The Titans have signed wide receiver Van Jefferson. Dynasty Analysis: Jefferson should take the place of Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, who signed with Miami earlier this week. He was moderately productive for the Steelers last year, posting 24 catches for 277 yards and two touchdowns over a full season of 17 games. Still, we haven't seen Jefferson really do much in terms of fantasy production for a few years so he should stay on dynasty waiver wires.
