New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara won't play in the team's preseason opener on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, but the rest of the RBs will, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. Kamara has been healthy during training camp, but the Saints will keep their RB1 out as a precaution for the first preseason contest. Rookie Devin Neal (hamstring) is currently injured, so it will likely be Kendre Miller, Cam Akers and Clyde Edwards-Helaire sharing the backfield this weekend for the Saints. Kamara, now 30 years old, has still yet to record a 1,000-yard rushing season through eight NFL seasons, but he's made up for that in fantasy by catching 60-plus passes in six seasons. He also had a career-high 950 rushing yards and six TDs in 2024. Kamara should remain heavily involved in the Saints' new offense, but there are concerns about how good New Orleans' offense will be, and Kamara is becoming more of an injury risk. Target him as more of a low-end RB2 in PPR formats.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially signed free-agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to an undisclosed one-year deal on Tuesday after he passed his physical, a source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Kyle Trask will be the backup to starter Baker Mayfield, but with Michael Pratt still not practicing in training camp, Bridgwater will give the team additional depth at the position and a veteran presence in the QB room. The 32-year-old retired from the NFL before last season but then quickly changed his mind and signed with the Detroit Lions in late December. Bridgewater didn't get into a regular-season game last year while serving as an emergency option for the Lions behind Jared Goff and Hendon Hooker. He did take three snaps in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Bridgewater remains off the fantasy radar.

Dynasty | The Rams have signed running back Kyren Williams to a contract extension. Dynasty Analysis: And just like that, there goes any idea of some kind of running back competition or Williams bolting via free agency at the end of the season. This will lock him into RB1 status in a more concrete way and he remains a key part of any dynasty team. In addition, this puts a nice little pin in the dynasty balloons of Jarquez Hunter, Ronnie Rivers and Blake Corum, though Hunter looks like the next man up should Williams miss time.
Dynasty | The Bucs have signed quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Dynasty Analysis: Bridgewater has spent time with the Vikings, Saints, Panthers, Broncos, Dolphins and Lions over the past ten years, proving to be a capable option when given short-term opportunities. Unfortunately, a devastating knee injury early in his career has severely limited his ceiling. After being suspended from coaching high school football for providing impermissible benefits, Bridgewater decided to give the NFL one last shot. No sure thing to make the roster, Bridgewater simply should remain on 2QB watch lists.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (groin) is back at the team's training camp practice on Tuesday, per Jake Arthur of Sports Illustrated. Pittman suffered a minor groin injury at practice last Tuesday and was held out as a precaution for a week. The 27-year-old will now return to practice, although there's a good chance we won't see him in the team's preseason opener this Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens. There's no concern that he won't be ready for Week 1 of the regular season in early September, where he should once again be the team's WR1 for either quarterbacks Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson Sr. Josh Downs was more involved in the offense a year ago, which contributed to Pittman only going for 808 yards (fewest since his rookie season) and only three TDs in 2024. Indy's QB situation doesn't exactly make Pittman an intriguing WR4/flex target in fantasy.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan said on Sirius XM Fantasy Radio that New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. is 100% the team's unquestioned RB1 going into the 2025 season. "There is no competition," Raanan said. There have been questions around how much work Tracy will share with rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring), who recently injured his hamstring. But Raanan says that Skattebo wasn't even really involved on the first-team offense before his hamstring injury late last week. When healthy, it appears that Skattebo will be more of a complementary piece in New York's backfield rather than a true threat to take significant touches away from Tracy. Tracy is the Giants' RB1, and with Skattebo now dealing with an injury, it might make things even more difficult for Skattebo to gain traction early on. Securing RB1 duties will help Tracy's cause as an RB3/flex in fantasy with upside.

Green Bay Packers rookie first-round wide receiver Matthew Golden continues to run with the first-team offense in two-receiver sets in training camp practices. Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks have been sidelined at camp with minor injuries, but Golden's presence in two-receiver sets is notable nonetheless, especially with Christian Watson (knee) expected to begin the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. It's still a crowded receiver room in Green Bay with Reed, Wicks and Romeo Doubs, but the 22-year-old Golden brings 4.29-second 40-yard dash speed to an offense with a young and ascending quarterback in Jordan Love at the helm. At the very least in his rookie season, Golden should serve as the team's primary deep threat until Watson returns, making him an intriguing WR4/flex candidate right away.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said there's nothing that running back Chris Brooks can't do and also expressed confidence in Brooks as the team's RB2 behind Josh Jacobs with both Emanuel Wilson and MarShawn Lloyd out with injuries currently at training camp. Brooks and Wilson stepped up behind Jacobs in 2024 with Lloyd playing in just one game in his rookie season due to injuries. The 25-year-old Brooks handled only 36 rushing attempts for 183 yards and a touchdown, although he averaged over five yards per carry for the second straight season. He added 11 catches for 69 yards on 13 targets in 15 regular-season games (no starts). While it's nice that Green Bay has confidence in Brooks to back up Jacobs if needed, he's not going to be very relevant in fantasy unless both Wilson and Lloyd aren't ready to go for the start of the regular season.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft (groin) is back at Tuesday's training camp practice after missing time with a groin injury. Kraft took a step forward in Year 2 in 2024 with 50 catches on 70 targets for 707 yards and seven touchdowns in 17 regular-season games for the Packers. The 24-year-old could have an even bigger role in the passing game in his third NFL season, making him a popular breakout candidate in 2025 at a weak position in fantasy. There are a lot of receivers vying for targets in Green Bay with receiver Christian Watson (knee) potentially missing half the season, but if Kraft is utilized more downfield, he should be a lock to finish among the top-10 TEs in total fantasy points. There's a lot to like about Kraft's yards-after-the-catch ability, as he produced an average of 9.6 YAC last year, which led all tight ends.
From RotoBaller
The Houston Texans released their first unofficial depth chart of the preseason on Tuesday, and rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins was listed as a starter next to Nico Collins and Christian Kirk. As we always say, take unofficial depth charts with a grain of sand in the preseason. It's a good sign for the 22-year-old second-rounder, but it hardly guarantees him a big role right away in his first NFL season in Houston. The Iowa State product was productive in college and showed plenty of athleticism at the scouting combine in February. The problem is that Collins should continue to be a target hog through the air in an offense with a shaky offensive line. It's possible that Higgins could continue ascending and leapfrog Kirk for WR2 duties, but that will likely take time. Consider Higgins a decent late-round dart throw for receiver depth in fantasy drafts.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (undisclosed) will not play in the preseason opener on Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles due to an undisclosed injury, according to Ben Baby of ESPN. Gesicki said he'd be questionable but optimistic if it was a game week during the regular season. The Bengals will play their starters for a little bit on Thursday, but Gesicki won't be included while he manages what is likely a minor injury. The 29-year-old appeared to injure his leg during a scrimmage over the weekend on Saturday, but fantasy managers will want to check back for more updates on Gesicki. Hopefully, he's back on the field again sooner than later. A longer than expected absence would open up more playing time for new TE Noah Fant. When healthy, Gesicki is merely a low-end TE2 in fantasy while being overshadowed by bit-time receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (hand) is back at training camp practice on Tuesday after missing two days last week with a hand contusion that he suffered when he hit a teammate's helmet on a follow-through. Mayfield's injury was never considered serious and he'll be ready to go when the regular season kicks off in early September. The 30-year-old former first overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2018 out of Oklahoma has been a Pro Bowler each of the last two seasons in Tampa as the starter, but he'll have a new offensive coordinator yet again in 2025. He threw for a career-high 4,500 passing yards and 41 touchdowns last year while also leading the league with 16 interceptions. The Bucs should continue to be a pass-happy offense, and Mayfield has lots of weapons. For the expected volume alone, Mayfield has low-end QB1 value in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (ankle) remains absent at training camp practice on Tuesday, according to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride. While the Chiefs continue to say that Hollywood's ankle injury isn't serious, it's now been a week since he last practiced. It means that the 28-year-old will almost certainly be held out of the team's preseason opener this Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals. Brown still has plenty of time to get ready for the start of the 2025 regular-season opener in early September, but this is a reminder of the fact that he only played in two regular-season games in 2024 in his first year with the team due to injury. When all of the Chiefs' pass-catchers are healthy, Brown might be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' fourth target behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and tight end Travis Kelce.
From RotoBaller
The Los Angeles Rams and running back Kyren Williams agreed to a three-year, $33 million extension on Tuesday, including $23 million in guarantees, according to agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus. Williams gets rewarded with a new deal after topping 1,000 yards rushing in each of the last two seasons with the rams. Last year in 16 regular-season starts, the 24-year-old had a career-high 316 carries for 1,299 rushing yards and a career-best 14 rushing touchdowns, adding a career-high 34 receptions on 40 targets for another 182 yards and two scores. The numbers were great for fantasy purposes, but Williams wasn't as efficient as his Pro Bowl season in 2023, and second-year RB Blake Corum could see more involvement in 2025. It will be hard for Williams to ever be as efficient as he was in 2023 if Corum becomes more involved. He's on the RB1/2 borderline in RotoBaller's rankings.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) is not participating again in practice on Tuesday. However, Zach Berman of PHLY noted that the team is likely exercising caution with their top wideout given that we are still in the early stages of the preseason. However, fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his status in case this injury begins to linger as we approach the regular season. In 2024, Brown posted his third-straight 1,000-yard campaign as he brought in 1,079 yards on just 67 receptions across 13 games. He found the back of the end zone seven times and posted a strong 16.1 YPR. Despite playing in a run-focused offense spearheaded by superstar Saquon Barkley, Brown remains a solid WR1 in all leagues given his ability to find the back of the end zone.

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason was viewed as a "massive" part of Minnesota's offseason plan, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. During the spring, the Vikings acquired Mason via a trade. During the 2024 campaign, Mason emerged as a key contributor to the San Francisco rushing attack when Christian McCaffrey was sidelined. On a career-high 153 carries, Mason tallied 789 yards and three scores. During the first seven weeks, Mason flashed RB1 upside as he averaged a strong 14.8 PPR points per game and averaged 95.3 yards per game during this stretch. In addition, reports from Vikings camp suggest the team views him and veteran Aaron Jones as "Co-RB1s." While Jones will likely see the slight majority of carries, Mason possesses much higher upside given his age and speed. He is worth viewing as a standalone flex option and a high-upside handcuff if Jones were to miss time.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets rookie tight end Mason Taylor (ankle) has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, according to Connor Hughes of SNY. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be sidelined for at least the opening game of the preseason and potentially longer, given the severity. The Jets selected the former LSU Tiger in the second round (42nd overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft. Taylor tallied a career-high 546 yards on 55 receptions during his final season at LSU in 2024. For the time being, Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt should continue to see most of the starting opportunities. Taylor appears to have a path to earning the starting role, given the lack of production on the depth chart. However, this injury could make it difficult for Taylor to earn key reps during training camp. For now, fantasy managers should view him as a dynasty stash and only a late-round option in deeper, 14+ team redraft leagues.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee) had knee surgery on Saturday but could still be ready for his Packers debut in Week 1 against the Lions, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. He will miss the preseason, though, after undergoing the procedure to repair a partial meniscus tear. Hobbs played the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders and signed a big four-year deal worth $48 million with the Packers. He missed six games last season and 16 over the last three seasons combined because of ankle injuries, a hand injury, and illness. Injuries were a big part of why the Packers parted ways with star cornerback Jaire Alexander this offseason, and Hobbs is expected to help replace Alexander. While this may not be an injury that impacts his regular-season availability directly, it could be a bad sign if it's the start of a trend.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) still has yet to practice for the Rams this preseason, but the team seems to be managing his workload carefully. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "This sounds more like a maintenance issue ... and they feel like if there were a game today, Stafford would be able to play ... it doesn't sound overly alarming right now." Stafford's progress in camp will continue to be a key storyline to watch this preseason, but at this point, it doesn't look like it will be an issue that forces him to miss game time once the season starts. The Rams host the Texans in Week 1 on September 7, and if Stafford is surprisingly not ready, Jimmy Garoppolo would likely be the next option. Stetson Bennett IV and Dresser Winn are the other QB options on the Rams depth chart, who will get more work in camp and preseason while Stafford is out.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and other big-name starters will play "several series" in the team's first preseason game this Thursday against the Eagles, according to coach Zac Taylor. They'll also get even more work in the second week of the preseason against the Commanders. Taylor said it's a new way for the team to approach the preseason with the goal of getting off to a fast start. The Bengals lost to the Patriots in Week 1 last season and got off to a 1-4 start. They will try to avoid a similar start to this season and open on the road in Cleveland before their home opener in Week 2 against Jacksonville. The Bengals' starters will have increased risk of injury in this new plan, but hopefully, it will help them start at full speed out of the gate.
