Shedeur Sanders Oct 8 11:30am CT
    Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns have said numerous times that they are trying to develop rookie fifth-round quarterback Shedeur Sanders "very intentionally," according to Mark Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he has to do what's best for the players as well as the team. It's why Stefanski has not yet named Sanders as the No. 2, even though Cleveland traded veteran Joe Flacco to the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals this week. Sanders looked good during the preseason and has been praised by the coaching staff for the work he's been putting in, and although the 23-year-old is expected to see the field at some point in 2025, the Browns aren't going to rush that moment. He could be active for the first time this year as the backup to fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel this weekend against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers, unless the Browns choose to elevate Bailey Zappe from the practice squad into the QB2 role.

Deshaun Watson Oct 8 11:30am CT
    Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has declined to say if he foresees quarterback Deshaun Watson (Achilles) playing this year, according to Scott Petrak of Browns Zone. Stefanski added that Watson is working hard in his rehab and has been in the meeting rooms with the rest of the team. Watson suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 7 of last year and then re-tore his Achilles later on. The 30-year-old is around eight months removed from his surgery and isn't close to retaking the field. He's currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will not return to the practice field ahead of the team's Week 6 divisional tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers. For now, Cleveland is prepared to move forward with rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, with rookie Shedeur Sanders potentially moving into the QB2 role after the team traded Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals this week.

Alec Pierce Oct 8 11:20am CT
    Alec Pierce

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) will practice on Wednesday, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Pierce has missed the last two games with a concussion, but he is trending in the right direction to make his return in Week 6 on Sunday versus the visiting Arizona Cardinals. It looked like Pierce was going to play last week in the win over the Las Vegas Raiders after he was a full-go in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but he had a setback on Friday and was not cleared from the NFL's concussion protocol. If he can avoid a setback this week, Pierce could be active as Indy's WR3 next to Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs. The 25-year-old has nine catches on 13 targets for 171 yards and no touchdowns in his three games this year. If Pierce is active, he'll be in play as a WR4/flex in deeper fantasy leagues against the Cards.

Dontayvion Wicks Oct 8 11:10am CT
    Dontayvion Wicks

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has struggled to provide consistent fantasy production so far in 2025, recording 10 catches for 114 yards on 16 targets across four games played. He appeared to have an opportunity to make his mark in Green Bay when wideout Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot) went on Injured Reserve following Week 2, but Wicks failed to leapfrog Packers wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Matthew Golden on the depth chart. Wicks may get pushed even further down the playing time pecking order by the return of Christian Watson (knee), who could be activated off of Injured Reserve as soon as Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. If Watson remains sidelined in Week 6, Wicks could be a desperation flex option in deep leagues. However, once Watson returns and is fully re-integrated into the Packers offense, Wicks will likely be nearly impossible for fantasy managers to trust.

Isaac Guerendo Oct 8 11:00am CT
    Isaac Guerendo

San Francisco 49ers running back Isaac Guerendo recorded 572 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns on 99 total touches as a rookie in 2024. However, through five games in 2025, the 25-year-old has not played a single offensive snap. Guerendo is buried on the 49ers running back depth chart behind Christian McCaffrey and Brian Robinson Jr. As long as both McCaffrey and Robinson Jr. remain healthy, it appears unlikely that Guerendo's role in San Francisco's offense is going to change. Guerendo maintains some appeal in dynasty leagues, but he should remain off the radar of redraft fantasy managers for the time being.

Ray Davis Oct 8 10:50am CT
    Ray Davis

Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis had an encouraging rookie year in 2024, recording 631 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns on 130 total touches. However, Davis has played a more limited role in the team's offense through the first five games of 2025, as he's logged just 14 total touches for 29 yards from scrimmage. Bills RB1 James Cook has dominated the backfield workload, which is a departure from how the team deployed its running backs last season. Davis maintains some appeal in deep leagues as a handcuff to Cook. However, Davis has very little standalone fantasy value heading into Buffalo's Week 7 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

Anthony Richardson Oct 8 10:40am CT
    Anthony Richardson

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. has appeared in just two games so far this season, both times in mop-up duty at the end of blowout victories. The 23-year-old is firmly behind Daniel Jones on the quarterback depth chart in Indianapolis due to how well Jones has played through five games. In his first season with the Colts, Jones has completed 71.3% of his pass attempts for 1,290 yards and six touchdowns, adding three rushing touchdowns as well. Richardson Sr.'s dual-threat ability gives him major fantasy upside if he ever gets another chance to start, but for now, he remains an injury to Jones away from playing time.

    From RotoBaller

Joe Flacco Oct 8 10:30am CT
    Joe Flacco

The Cincinnati Bengals acquired veteran quarterback Joe Flacco from the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday, and the team is going to "lean on him to stay alive for the playoffs," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Flacco is expected to take over for the struggling Jake Browning as the team's Joe Burrow (toe) replacement under center immediately in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers. Flacco completed 58.1% of his passes for 815 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions in four games for Cleveland before getting benched. He should remain off the radar of fantasy managers in a difficult Week 6 matchup against Green Bay. Still, Flacco might have some season-long appeal in two-quarterback formats now that he's working with two elite wide receivers in Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins with the Bengals.

    J.K. Dobbins Oct 8 10:20am CT
    J.K. Dobbins

Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins has "been fantastic," according to Broncos head coach Sean Payton. The 26-year-old is in his first year with the team and has gotten off to a fast start to the season, rushing for 402 yards and four touchdowns on 77 carries through five games. Dobbins does not offer much as a receiver (six total receptions), but he's been the clear lead rusher in a Broncos backfield that also features RJ Harvey and Tyler Badie. Health has always been a question mark for Dobbins, as he had played in just 22 games over his previous three seasons coming into 2025. However, if he stays healthy, it does not appear he's in any danger of losing his current role in Denver. Dobbins profiles as a must-start fantasy running back in Week 6 against the New York Jets.

Jaylin Noel Oct 8 10:10am CT
    Jaylin Noel

Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jaylin Noel found the end zone for the first time in his NFL career during the team's dominant 44-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. The rookie caught two of three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown, marking his best performance of the season. Despite the great moment, Noel's fantasy relevance remains minimal. Through five games, he's caught just five passes and played only 26% of the team's offensive snaps, ranking sixth among Texans wide receivers. Both Noel and fellow rookie Jayden Higgins saw season-high snap counts in Week 5, largely due to the blowout nature of the game that allowed Houston to rest their starters. With Christian Kirk's return solidifying the top of the depth chart along with Nico Collins, Noel's playing time and target share are unlikely to increase in the near future. He's a developmental piece for the future, but for now, he remains off the fantasy radar.

Jalen Royals Oct 8 10:10am CT
    Jalen Royals

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals missed the first two games of the 2025 season with a knee injury. He's been active in each of the team's last three games, but Royals has not yet been targeted by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 22-year-old appears buried on Kansas City's wide receiver depth chart behind Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, Tyquan Thornton, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Royals could fall down the depth chart even further in Week 7 when top Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice is eligible to return from suspension. Royals maintains some appeal in dynasty leagues, but he should remain off the radar of redraft fantasy managers for the time being.

Evan Engram Oct 8 10:00am CT
    Evan Engram

Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram has been off to a slow start in his first season under Sean Payton. Through four games, the veteran has caught 12 of 19 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown, ranking as the TE27 on a per-game basis. Despite optimism that Payton's system would unlock Engram's athleticism, he's yet to play more than 50% of the offensive snaps in any game this season. Even in Week 5, when Engram finally scored his first touchdown in Denver, his role remained limited. He played just 41% of the snaps, with Adam Trautman (40%) and Nate Adkins (37%) both involved in the rotation. The lack of a clear lead role in this tight end committee has capped Engram's production and fantasy appeal. Until his usage meaningfully increases or the depth chart thins out, Engram remains an afterthought in fantasy lineups and should stay on waivers in most leagues.

Jauan Jennings Oct 8 9:40am CT
    Jauan Jennings

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings could be in for a significant workload in Week 6, assuming he's healthy enough to play. Through three games this season, Jennings has caught nine of 19 targets for 129 yards and a touchdown, ranking as the WR40 on a per-game basis. The fifth-year wideout has battled through a string of injuries, including calf, ankle, shoulder, and rib injuries, that have limited his availability early in the year. Jennings returned to practice on Monday, which is a positive sign, especially with second-year receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) trending in the opposite direction. If Pearsall is unable to suit up, Jennings would likely operate as the 49ers' WR1 heading into Week 6. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on San Francisco's midweek injury reports, as Wednesday and Thursday's updates will be crucial in determining Jennings' and Pearsall's availability against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tyquan Thornton Oct 8 9:30am CT
    Tyquan Thornton

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton continues to emerge as one of the pleasant surprises of the 2025 season. Through five games, the former Patriots wideout has caught 13 of 25 targets for 272 yards and three touchdowns, ranking as the WR22 in half-PPR formats. Even with the recent return of second-year receiver Xavier Worthy, Thornton's production has held strong, totaling 101 yards and a touchdown over his last two contests. However, fantasy managers should tread carefully. The Chiefs' target competition is about to heat up, with Rashee Rice expected to return in Week 7 and Worthy likely to see an expanded role as he regains full health. That looming target competition could significantly cut into Thornton's target share. Thornton has flashed legitimate big-play ability and chemistry with Patrick Mahomes, but his long-term fantasy value is uncertain. He's best viewed as a strong sell-high candidate while his value remains high.

    From RotoBaller

Travis Hunter Oct 8 9:20am CT
    Travis Hunter

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver Travis Hunter could start to see more downfield opportunities after flashing big-play ability in Week 5's 31-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-overall pick caught three passes for 64 yards, highlighted by a spectacular 44-yard jump-ball grab that showcased his elite athleticism and contested-catch skills. Plays like that offer a glimpse of what Hunter could become in Liam Coen's offense once his role expands. However, through five weeks, Hunter has yet to make a consistent fantasy impact. He's caught 16 of 24 targets for 182 yards and remains without a touchdown in his young career. His limited usage caps his fantasy upside for now, as he ranks 76th among receivers in snap share (60.3%) and 71st in route participation (69.7%). While his two-way ability continues to draw attention, Hunter's offensive workload remains too limited for reliable fantasy production. He's best viewed as a stash in deeper leagues, with breakout potential later in the season if his offensive role grows.

Rhamondre Stevenson Oct 8 9:20am CT
    Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson could be in line for an increased workload moving forward. Through five games, Stevenson has totaled 38 carries for 139 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 13 receptions for 154 yards through the air. With Antonio Gibson (knee) out for the season due to a torn ACL, both Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson should see expanded roles in the offense. While Henderson has been used sparingly to this point, Stevenson remains the most trusted option in New England's backfield. Despite leading the NFL in fumbles, the Patriots continue to rely on him in high-leverage situations, including the red zone. The team's faith in him makes Stevenson an intriguing buy-low candidate for fantasy managers. The Patriots face the New Orleans Saints in Week 6, a defense that has allowed the ninth-most PPR fantasy points to running backs this season. With more carries ahead and a favorable matchup, Stevenson profiles as a low-end RB2 in Week 6.

Darius Slayton Oct 8 9:00am CT
    Darius Slayton

ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler reported on Wednesday that Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) is not expected to play Thursday vs. the Eagles, per sources. Slayton suffered a hamstring injury in the Giants' Week 5 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and with the short turnaround time for Thursday night, it appears he will not be expected to play after missing practice both Monday and Tuesday. With Slayton not expected to play, Wan'Dale Robinson becomes the clear WR1 for the Giants in a game where they will be expected to throw quite a bit, as they are currently seven-point underdogs according to most sportsbooks. Jalin Hyatt, Beaux Collins, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey are the likely candidates to replace Slayton in the lineup, with Theo Johnson and Robinson becoming Jaxson Dart's go-to targets.

    From RotoBaller

Allen Lazard Oct 8 9:00am CT
    Allen Lazard

New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (personal) is out for the game in Week 6, as he didn't make the trip to England, where the Jets take on the Denver Broncos. Lazard is dealing with an unspecified personal issue, and Arian Smith and Tyler Johnson could see an uptick in snaps and targets as a result. Garrett Wilson and Mason Taylor remain quarterback Justin Fields' go-to targets in the pass game and should continue to be precisely that with Lazard out. Lazard has struggled to find his groove in 2025, seeing only six targets through four games, which have translated to only 24 yards and one touchdown. Fantasy managers still rostering Lazard should look elsewhere on the waiver wire and target a player trending upward.

    From RotoBaller

Lamar Jackson Oct 8 8:50am CT
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's (hamstring) status for Week 6 is "in doubt," according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Jackson injured his hamstring in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs and subsequently missed Week 5 at home against the Houston Texans. His status for Week 6 was initially questionable but is now reported as doubtful. Cooper Rush has stepped in as the team's quarterback and will presumably continue to take the snaps against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6. With the Ravens having a Week 7 bye looming, the Ravens may want to play it safe with Jackson and allow him an extra two weeks of rest to ensure their superstar is fully healthy for the second half of the regular season. Fantasy managers should plan contingencies at the quarterback position sooner rather than later.

    From RotoBaller

Josh Jacobs Oct 8 8:40am CT
    Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs takes on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, and coming off a bye in Week 5, he should rank as a top-five running back for Week 6, as the Bengals give up the most running points to the running back position so far in 2025. The Packers' offensive line has been plagued by injuries, missing four starters throughout the first four weeks, which is likely the leading cause of his poor 3.33 YPC so far in 2025. Regardless, he is getting elite RB1 volume, with 80 carries, 10 receptions, and four touchdowns through four games played. Jacobs also does not have much competition in the backfield for touches, which makes him a high-end RB1, especially in good matchups like Week 6. Additionally, according to sportsbooks, the Packers are 14.5-point favorites, which should bode well for Jacobs to get some additional carries if they are playing from the lead.
