Ko Kieft Sep 23 5:10pm CT
    Ko Kieft

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed tight end Ko Kieft (leg) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday with a leg injury, according to Greg Auman of FOX Sports. It's a key loss for the Bucs' special-teams unit, and Kieft will be forced to miss at least four games. The earliest that he'd be able to return would be in a Week 8 divisional matchup on the road against the New Orleans Saints. However, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times is reporting that Kieft's leg injury could keep him sidelined for the rest of the 2025 season. The 27-year-old tight end apparently injured his leg in the Week 3 win over the visiting New York Jets on Sunday. With Kieft now out for the foreseeable future, Devin Culp will jump up into the No. 3 spot on the team's TE depth chart behind Cade Otton and Payne Durham, heading into a Week 4 showdown against the 3-0 Philadelphia Eagles.

    M.J. Stewart Sep 23 5:10pm CT
    M.J. Stewart

The Houston Texans released safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson on Tuesday amid "friction behind the scenes with him complaining about his role," league sources told Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Gardner-Johnson also wanted to blitz more and even said he wanted to be traded. With the 27-year-old no longer in Houston, the Texans will move forward with M.J. Stewart as the next man up at safety. Gardner-Johnson actually played at least 94 percent of the defensive snaps in the Texans' first three games of the season, but he was still unhappy with his role and wanted out. In his short time in Houston, he racked up 15 tackles (11 solo). The former fourth-round pick in 2019 by the New Orleans Saints should be able to latch on quickly with another team in need of reinforcements in their defensive backfield.

Younghoe Koo Sep 23 4:50pm CT
    Younghoe Koo

The New York Giants are signing former Atlanta Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo to their practice squad on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Koo landed on the free-agent market early this year after the Falcons replaced him with Parker Romo. The 31-year-old will now get another chance in the NFC East with regular Giants kicker Graham Gano dealing with a groin injury that he suffered in pre-game warmups before the Sunday night loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Gano was considered questionable to play in Week 3 after his injury, but he eventually made a 25-yard field goal try in the fourth quarter. If Gano is unable to play in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, Koo could be brought up to serve as the kicker on Sunday. Koo has an 85.8% success rate on FGs in his eight NFL seasons, but he went just 25-for-34 (73.5%) last year and missed one of his three attempts in Week 1 with Atlanta before being cut. For now, Koo should remain on the waiver wire in all fantasy leagues.

Khalil Herbert Sep 23 4:40pm CT
    Khalil Herbert

The Seattle Seahawks announced on Tuesday that they signed free-agent running back Khalil Herbert to their practice squad, according to The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta. The move comes after Zach Charbonnet (foot) missed the team's blowout win over the visiting New Orleans Saints in Week 3 on Sunday. The 27-year-old Herbert will provide additional backfield depth for Seattle if Charbonnet is forced to miss more time, starting with this Thursday night's tilt against the division-rival Arizona Cardinals. With Charb out last weekend, George Holani was the primary backup to the oft-injured Kenneth Walker III. Herbert played with the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals in 2024, finishing with only 130 rushing yards and a touchdown on 36 carries while catching 10 passes for 25 yards in 14 games. He'll only find his way onto the fantasy radar if both Walker and Charbonnet are on the shelf at the same time.

Kimani Vidal Sep 23 4:30pm CT
    Kimani Vidal

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said that running back Kimani Vidal will be the "next man up" after Najee Harris suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in the Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, according to Alex Insdorf. Harbaugh also said that general manager Joe Hortiz will be "scouring the market" to see what else is available at the RB position. The Chargers are expected to lean on rookie first-rounder Omarion Hampton as their lead back moving forward, with Harris done for the year, with Vidal and Hassan Haskins mixing in behind him in change-of-pace duties. Vidal, a former sixth-rounder in 2024, did not make the active 53-man roster out of training camp and was sent to the practice squad. The 24-year-old averaged 3.6 yards per carry for 155 rushing yards on 43 attempts in his rookie season. Vidal can probably remain on the waiver wire for now in most single-year fantasy leagues.

Skyy Moore Sep 23 4:20pm CT
    Skyy Moore

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Skyy Moore saw a spike in Week 3's matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Moore had seen just five offensive snaps through the first two games of the season, but saw his snap share shoot up to 52% in the 49ers' 16-15 win on Sunday. With Jauan Jennings (ankle/shoulder) absent from the game, Kendrick Bourne moved to the outside, opening the door for Moore to operate as the team's slot receiver. The jump in usage didn't equate to much production, however, and he finished the day with one reception for 10 yards. The increased role can't be expected to last. Now that Demarcus Robinson's three-game suspension has been served, Moore will be relegated to return duty in short order. So far in 2025, Moore has handled three kickoffs and eight punts for a combined 151 return yards.

Tua Tagovailoa Sep 23 3:40pm CT
    Tua Tagovailoa

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa showed some improvement the last two weeks, but his team's offense continues to struggle, and he's not playing like a top-25 quarterback right now, making him only a fringe option even in dual-quarterback deep leagues. He has thrown at least one interception in each game this season after throwing for 161 yards and two touchdowns, along with his late interception against the Bills on Thursday. He has failed to exceed 5.0 yards per attempt in 2-of-3 outings and seems to be more hesitant than ever to take deep shots. When he does take deep shots, they're often off-target and sometimes intercepted. His contract will likely keep him in the lineup for the Dolphins the rest of the season, but he doesn't belong in your fantasy lineup until he turns things around. The entire Dolphins team seems in need of a reset, which will likely come after this season. He does have a good matchup on Monday Night Football against the Jets, but he's still not a good fantasy play at this point.

    D.K. Metcalf Sep 23 3:40pm CT
    D.K. Metcalf

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf only managed three catches for 32 yards on four targets in Week 3, but he made up for the low volume he received with a touchdown. He has now found the end zone in back-to-back contests with both scores coming on a jump ball thrown by Aaron Rodgers. While Metcalf's overall production has been disappointing, it's hard not to compare his early red zone connection with his quarterback to that of Rodgers and Davante Adams. If the duo continues to strengthen their chemistry, Metcalf could certainly meet the expectations of those who drafted him in fantasy, but he unfortunately seems like a touchdown-dependent WR2 at this point. He'll face his toughest opponent yet, the Minnesota Vikings, in Week 4.

    From RotoBaller

Jonnu Smith Sep 23 3:40pm CT
    Jonnu Smith

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jonnu Smith was quiet again this past week, logging just three receptions for 23 yards in a 21-14 victory over the New England Patriots. While his fantasy managers hoped for much more on the stat sheet, Smith did play a season-high 83% of snaps as the Steelers deployed a heavy dose of 12-personnel. The play-calling can likely be attributed to the fact that Pittsburgh never trailed on Sunday, so it's possible the team reverts to running more three-wide-receiver sets this week. With a difficult matchup against the Minnesota Vikings coming before a Week 5 bye, Smith doesn't need to be rostered in most redraft formats.

    From RotoBaller

Calvin Austin III Sep 23 3:40pm CT
    Calvin Austin III

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III hauled in three of his five targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in a 21-14 win over the New England Patriots. Although Austin was quiet in Week 2, his numbers through the first three games of the season are shockingly similar to teammate DK Metcalf's. Metcalf leads the Steelers in targets, but Austin is averaging more yards per reception while building chemistry with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He has been on the receiving end of two deep touchdown passes, both thrown by Rodgers with the game on the line. While fantasy managers would be wise to avoid starting him against the stout Minnesota Vikings defense, Austin should be rostered heading into Week 4.

    From RotoBaller

Matthew Golden Sep 23 3:30pm CT
    Matthew Golden

It has been a slow burn for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden, as his first three games in the NFL have drawn mixed reviews from fantasy managers who drafted him in the middle rounds. Through three games, Golden has a combined eight targets, six receptions, and 68 receiving yards, with most of that coming in his best game to date in Week 3, where he caught four balls for 52 yards. He ran routes on 84 percent of quarterback Jordan Love's dropbacks and earned 22 percent of the first-read targets as well. To say Golden has been a disappointment is fair, but his role is growing. Golden could keep his ramp-up going in a great matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, but we need to remember that Golden has a shockingly low fantasy floor. That said, Golden is an upside flex play for fantasy managers in Week 4 in the hopes that the downfield work and the Cowboys' porous defense converge to result in Golden's breakout game.

Ollie Gordon II Sep 23 3:30pm CT
    Ollie Gordon II

Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II had a big preseason and got good sleeper buzz as a result. However, once the regular season started, he played just 12 snaps in Week 1 and five snaps in Week 2. In those two contests, he had three carries for just 12 yards. Even with Jaylen Wright (knee) off the injury report, Gordon was much more active in Week 3. While he still only played 25% of snaps, he did get nine carries and totaled 38 yards and a touchdown. His score came on the first possession of the game, when he took over for starter De'Von Achane in the red zone. Gordon is much more suited for tough running between the tackles than Achane, while Achane is excellent in space. The two could develop into a nice specialized tandem going forward, and the Dolphins need them to carry the offense while Tua Tagovailoa continues to struggle. Gordon gets good matchups against the Jets and Panthers the next two weeks and is a solid name to consider off the waiver wire in deep leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Jaylen Warren Sep 23 3:30pm CT
    Jaylen Warren

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren gained 81 total yards on 23 touches in a Week 3 win over the New England Patriots. Perhaps most importantly, the 26-year-old took the field for a career-high 80% of Pittsburgh's offensive snaps. He did cede a few opportunities to Kenneth Gainwell, who punched in a one-yard score after Warren was stopped twice inside the five-yard line. Still, Warren's usage in the passing game helped him outscore Gainwell in half-PPR fantasy leagues. He paced the Steelers in targets, drawing six looks from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Although Warren has a difficult matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on tap for Week 4, he has established himself as a quality RB2 and is a borderline must-start option going forward.

    From RotoBaller

James Conner Sep 23 3:23pm CT
    James Conner

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner was placed on injured reserve by the team on Tuesday, Sept. 23. There is no timetable for his return.

Fantasy Spin: Trey Benson is expected to step up in Conner's absence from the lineup. He becomes an RB2 or a flex option in your lineup with high potential to be something more with splash weeks.

    From TheHuddle

Devon Achane Sep 23 3:20pm CT
    Devon Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane has been about the only bright spot in the Dolphins' offense this season, as the team has struggled to an 0-3 start. Achane had 62 rushing yards and 29 receiving yards on Thursday against the Bills, though, while hauling in seven catches to keep him a PPR beast. Achane did have a rushing touchdown vultured by rookie Ollie Gordon II, but he still played 77% of snaps and is clearly the lead back and top option in the offense. Achane's role as a passcatcher gives him both a high ceiling and a high floor, making him a strong RB1 every week, especially coming into a favorable part of the schedule with the Jets and Panthers lined up for the next two weeks.

    From RotoBaller

Jordan Love Sep 23 3:20pm CT
    Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has had to bank on efficiency through the first few weeks of the season. For all the great things about the Packers' offense that we've seen, it's not a friendly offense for fantasy football. Week 3 was more of the same for Love as he threw for just 183 yards with one touchdown and an interception against a tough Cleveland Browns defense. Love has not been a top 12 fantasy quarterback once through three games, as he's capped out at QB13 in his Week 2 matchup against the Commanders, where Love threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Passing volume is a major concern for the Packers as well, as the Packers have just one game over 30 passing attempts since Week 9 of 2024: that same game against the Commanders in Week 2. That game was also just the fourth game of 20+ fantasy points for Love in his last 16 starts where he didn't leave the game, dating back to 2023. The Packers have a prime matchup against the Cowboys, who have given up the most passing yardage in the NFL, but Love cannot be a trusted QB1 or even a streaming option. Given Love's capped ceiling of opportunity and lack of fantasy production within that, he's best left as a QB2 in two-quarterback leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Josh Jacobs Sep 23 3:10pm CT
    Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs broke his streak of 10 consecutive regular-season games where he scored a touchdown in Week 3, as he was bottled up by the Cleveland Browns. Nothing new for the Browns, as they've bottled up every opposing rusher, from Chase Brown to Derrick Henry. Jacobs had less than 2.0 yards per carry as he put up just 30 rushing yards on 16 carries. He did salvage some of his fantasy day with a team-leading nine targets, catching five of them for 44 yards. With 3.1 yards per carry through three games, Jacobs has been a pure volume play with none of the efficiency that fantasy managers expected from a player who was drafted in the early third round of drafts. Despite touchdowns in the first two contests, Jacobs has not finished higher than RB18 this season. Even with a good matchup on deck with the Packers heading to Dallas to play the Cowboys, Jacobs is more of a high-end RB2 than a locked-in RB1.

    From RotoBaller

Malik Washington Sep 23 3:10pm CT
    Malik Washington

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington had three catches for 12 yards and a pair of rushes for 20 more yards. He played 54% of snaps in Week 3 and has played at least half of the team's offensive snaps each game. In addition to an electric punt return touchdown, Washington has totaled six catches for 34 yards and six carries for 52 yards. The Dolphins continue to come up with ways to get the ball into his hands, and he comes with plenty of big-play potential for an offense that desperately needs a jolt. He is definitely a name to watch as Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) continues to play through an injury and Tyreek Hill continues to be unhappy. If more playing time opens up or Tua Tagovailoa takes more shots down the field, Washington could be set up as a sleeper who blooms late in the season. In Week 4, he gets a favorable Monday Night Football matchup against the Jets.

    From RotoBaller

Tucker Kraft Sep 23 3:10pm CT
    Tucker Kraft

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft had a monster Week 2, where he put up 124 yards on six receptions with a touchdown. That performance got fantasy managers salivating over the potential of Kraft as a mid-to-high-end TE1 option this season. But did we ignore the elephant in the room: the Packers' offense? We've seen the upside of Green Bay's offense when everything is going well, but in Week 3, we may have seen the downside as they fell to the Cleveland Browns in a tough defensive slugfest. Quarterback Jordan Love threw the ball only 25 times, and nine of those targets were to running back Josh Jacobs. Kraft could only muster 29 yards on three receptions, but his mid-week knee injury that put him on the injury report could have played into that, too. Kraft is who he is: a volatile boom-or-bust option with an inconsistent volume-earning profile that you can start on good matchups and hope he gets into the end zone in bad matchups. Week 4 is one of the good matchups against Dallas, as the Cowboys have allowed the most passing yards per game this season. Fire up Kraft as a TE1 for Sunday Night Football.

    From RotoBaller

Mason Taylor Sep 23 3:00pm CT
    Mason Taylor

New York Jets rookie tight end Mason Taylor saw his involvement tick up in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reeling in 4-of-6 targets for 18 yards. It didn't amount to much in the box score, but the LSU product tied running back Breece Hall for the second-most targets on the team, and continues to work clearly ahead of veteran TE Jeremy Ruckert, nearly doubling him up on snaps through three contests (141-74). Taylor's position is notorious for being a slow-developing one, so it isn't surprising to see him be a non-factor for fantasy early on. With that said, the six targets are the most he's seen, and he tripled his catch total in Week 3's effort. Whether he can continue his trajectory when starting quarterback Justin Fields (concussion) returns to play remains to be seen, but the 21-year-old is at least trending in the right direction. He'll try to keep it going against a vulnerable Miami Dolphins defense in Week 4.
