Foster Moreau Oct 5 11:00am CT
    Foster Moreau

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau (knee) is officially active on Sunday and will make his 2025 season debut in Week 5 against the visiting New York Giants, according to Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Both Moreau and quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill (knee) are making their season debuts this weekend after they suffered torn ACLs last year. Juwan Johnson has been heavily involved through the first four weeks with Hill and Moreau sidelined, and he should continue to be a big part of their passing attack. The 28-year-old Moreau tore his ACL in Week 18 last year. He should be the TE3 in New Orleans now that he's healthy, which makes him one to avoid in all leagues. Last year, Moreau caught 32 passes for 413 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games.

Kyle Hamilton Oct 5 10:50am CT
    Kyle Hamilton

Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton (groin) and left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) are inactive for Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Houston Texans. Both players had been listed as questionable. Hamilton's absence was widely expected since he didn't practice this past week. Stanley, however, was a little more up in the air after he logged three limited sessions. In the end, though, neither starter will suit up. Baltimore is dealing with plenty of injuries on both sides of the ball, so this news is far from ideal. Reuben Lowery and Sanoussi Kane should earn more snaps at safety while Joseph Noteboom steps up to protect Cooper Rush's blindside.

Taysom Hill Oct 5 10:50am CT
    Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill (knee) is officially active for his 2025 season debut in Week 5 on Sunday against the visiting New York Giants, according to Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Hill was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday and will play for the first time this year after suffering a torn ACL in Week 13 of 2024. He will be the backup QB behind starter Spencer Rattler while also serving in his normal gadget role in head coach Kellen Moore's offense. The 35-year-old do-it-all offensive piece will give the Saints offense a boost as they search for their first win of the season, but it's difficult to project how involved he'll be in his first game of the year. Hill is worth a bench stash as a tight end in deeper leagues, but he'll most likely be a boom/bust fantasy asset all year.

The Houston Texans have declared WR Braxton Berrios, OT Trent Brown, OT Jarrett Kingston, S Zion Childress, LB Christian Harris and QB Graham Mertz inactive for Week 5.

Kene Nwangwu Oct 5 10:40am CT
    Kene Nwangwu

New York Jets running back Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) was downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Dallas Cowboys. This hardly comes as a surprise after Nwangwu missed all three practices earlier this week. The 27-year-old is headed for his fourth consecutive absence, leaving Isaiah Davis in line to handle kick return duties once again.

Carson Wentz Oct 5 10:40am CT
    Carson Wentz

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz (shoulder) injured his left (non-throwing) shoulder late in the first half on Sunday in the Week 5 contest against the Cleveland Browns, but he was able to return for the start of the second half after halftime. With J.J. McCarthy (ankle) inactive again in Week 5, rookie Max Brosmer was Minnesota's next man up if Wentz had been unable to return. Wentz immediately led the Vikings on a touchdown drive to begin the second half, so he appears to be fine to finish off this game, barring another injury. He has gone 10-for-17 in the contest for 112 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. So far, Minnesota's only passing touchdown came on a trick play, with running back Cam Akers connecting with tight end Josh Oliver. The Vikings have a bye in Week 6, so it's possible McCarthy will be back under center as the starter in Week 7 versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brock Bowers Oct 5 10:40am CT
    Brock Bowers

Las Vegas Raiders tight endBrock Bowers(knee) is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Indianapolis Colts. The star tight end had been listed as questionable, and while head coach Pete Carroll previously expressed optimism about Bowers' status, his knee has not responded well, and he won't be able to suit up this weekend. Bowers is dealing with a PCL injury and a bone bruise, both of which were suffered back in Week 1. He has played through the injury since then, but this week, he was advised to rest until he has recovered. Fantasy managers should look outside Las Vegas for a Week 5 streamer as Bowers' usual replacement, Michael Mayer (concussion), is also inactive. The Raiders will turn to Ian Thomas as their primary tight end this week, but he's not a dependable fantasy option.

Michael Mayer Oct 5 10:40am CT
    Michael Mayer

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer (concussion) is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Indianapolis Colts. The 24-year-old, who was listed as questionable, has already been sidelined for nearly two full games and will miss at least one more contest. His absence comes at a tough time for the Raiders, who are also without star tight end Brock Bowers (knee). Vegas will turn to Ian Thomas as its primary tight end this week, but he's not a dependable fantasy option.

Devontez Walker Oct 5 10:40am CT
    Devontez Walker

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Devontez Walker (oblique) is officially active for Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Houston Texans. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the right direction after logging a full practice on Friday. The second-year UNC product has been pretty quiet so far, other than a fluke two-touchdown game back in Week 2. He has just one catch over his last two games and played only seven percent of the offensive snaps last week. He should be avoided in fantasy football as he remains buried behind Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, DeAndre Hopkins, and Tylan Wallace.

    From RotoBaller

Juwan Johnson Oct 5 10:40am CT
    Juwan Johnson

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (ankle) is officially active for the Week 5 game on Sunday against the visiting New York Giants after being listed as questionable on the final injury report, according to Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Johnson will play on Sunday, but his role could shrink with both Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) making their season debuts this weekend. The 29-year-old has been one of quarterback Spencer Rattler's favorite targets through the first four games of the season, catching 22 of his 31 targets for 204 yards and one touchdown. Johnson will have a little more volatility in terms of his weekly production with Hill and Moreau back in the fold, but in a good matchup against New York, Johnson should be considered a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 for fantasy managers in Week 5.

Bucky Irving Oct 5 10:30am CT
    Bucky Irving

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder), who has already been ruled out for Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks, is expected to miss at least two weeks. Irving is dealing with a sprained foot and a shoulder injury, with the shoulder injury being the more serious of the two injuries. With Irving out on Sunday against Seattle, it will mean more work for Rachaad White, who will be bumped to RB2 fantasy status with the increase in volume in Tampa's backfield. In addition to White seeing an expanded role, Sean Tucker will also see a boost in the change-of-pace RB2 role behind White. Fantasy managers should have already scooped White up if he was available on the waiver wire in their leagues. If Irving cannot play in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers, his next chance to return would be for a Monday night showdown in Week 7 versus the Detroit Lions.

Carson Wentz Oct 5 10:00am CT
    Carson Wentz

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz (left shoulder) exited during the second quarter of Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Cleveland Browns. He has been taken to the locker room and is officially questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had completed seven of 12 passes for 73 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. With halftime coming up, the Vikings will have a little extra time to treat Wentz and decide whether he can return for the team's next offensive drive. If he isn't able to return, rookie Max Brosmer would enter the game at quarterback.

Joe Flacco Oct 5 9:53am CT
    Joe Flacco

Although Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders was listed as the third quarterback for Week 5's game versus the Minnesota Vikings behind QBs Dillon Gabriel and Joe Flacco, he is expected to see playing time before the end of his rookie season. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, much of Sanders' development is happening behind the scenes and the Browns would like him to have a full week of practice before allowing him to see game action.

    From TheHuddle

Lamar Jackson Oct 5 9:33am CT
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring), who has already been ruled out for Week 5's game against the Houston Texans, could also wind up missing Week 6's contest versus the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Ravens have a bye in Week 7, meaning that Jackson could potentially have three weeks to recover while missing just two games.

Fantasy Spin: This would put Jackson on pace to resume playing in Week 8's game against the Chicago Bears Oct. 26. QB Cooper Rush will serve as Baltimore's starting quarterback in the meantime but should only be viewed as a low-end QB2 option in deeper fantasy leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Baker Mayfield Oct 5 9:23am CT
    Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield (knee, biceps) will start Week 5's game versus the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Spin: Mayfield appeared on the injury report earlier this week after missing practice Wednesday, Oct. 1, although he was a full participant in the Buccaneers' final two sessions of the week. He can be started with confidence in all fantasy formats.

    From TheHuddle

Lamar Jackson Oct 5 9:20am CT
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (hamstring) has already been ruled out for Week 5 against the Houston Texans, and he could also end up missing Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jackson picked up the injury and last week's loss to the Bills, and even though he logged a full practice on Friday, Cooper Rush will start at quarterback for the Ravens. Rapoport's timetable for Jackson makes sense as the Ravens have a Week 7 bye, so if he misses next week's game, he'd have nearly a full month to recover before returning to action Oct. 26. In the meantime, Baltimore's offense could experience some growing pains. The quarterback change is a general downgrade to the offense, especially when rushing the football and trying to score points near the goal line. As soon as Jackson is healthy enough to play again, he'll return to the high-end QB1 tier.

    From RotoBaller

Taysom Hill Oct 5 9:20am CT
    Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill (knee) will be listed second on the depth chart behind quarterback Spencer Rattler during Sunday's Week 5 game against the New York Giants, according to Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com. However, Hill will operate out of his usual gadget role, which could include designed runs, targets, and pass attempts. As Duncan notes, listing Hill as the QB2 gives New Orleans some flexibility. He'll handle his gadget role as usual, but if Rattler were to get injured, Hill could simply slide in as the quarterback. This means that rookie Tyler Shough will likely be inactive as the emergency third quarterback. For now, Hill, who was activated from the PUP list on Saturday, is nothing more than a speculative bench stash in deeper leagues. However, we know from previous seasons that he has top-12 tight end upside, as he's capable of contributing rushing, receiving, and passing stats at the tight end position.
