Myles Gaskin Aug 9 7:50pm CT
    Myles Gaskin

The Baltimore Ravens are signing free-agent running back Myles Gaskin on Saturday. Gaskin worked out with the team this weekend and apparently impressed enough to earn himself a deal with the organization. The 28-year-old figures to be a depth option during training camp. He'll compete with Justice Hill, Keaton Mitchell, and Rasheen Ali for a backup spot behind Derrick Henry. Gaskin has bounced around the league quite a bit over the last few years. He hasn't played much since the 2021 season with the Miami Dolphins. Possibly, Gaskin will catch on as a depth option, but he's unlikely to have any fantasy value.

Jalin Hyatt Aug 9 7:40pm CT
    Jalin Hyatt

New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (undisclosed) didn't travel with the team for their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. Head coach Brian Daboll said Hyatt is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury. The severity of the injury is unknown, so hopefully fantasy managers will get more information soon. Fantasy managers should stay tuned to see if Hyatt returns to practice early next week. The 23-year-old is currently competing for a depth spot behind Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Darius Slayton.

Rondale Moore Aug 9 7:30pm CT
    Rondale Moore

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore (leg) was carted off the field during the second quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Houston Texans. Afterwards, head coach Kevin O'Connell said Moore is dealing with a pretty significant left knee injury. The plan is for Moore to undergo an MRI on Sunday, so more information should be known then. Moore missed all of last season due to a non-contact knee injury he suffered last August. It would be truly heartbreaking if Moore suffered another season-ending injury. Fantasy managers should know more information once the results come back. He's currently competing for a depth spot on the roster as well as a job as the punt returner.

Rachaad White Aug 9 7:20pm CT
    Rachaad White

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White (groin) was forced to make an early exit during Saturday's preseason matchup against the Tennessee Titans. This is not a sight you ever want to see early in the preseason. White was unable to get through the first quarter before suffering a groin injury. It's the preseason, so the Bucs will hold out White for the rest of this contest. For now, fantasy managers should consider White as day-to-day. There should be more information on his status following this game. Before exiting, White rushed the ball six times for 28 yards and didn't see any action through the air.

Sam Darnold Aug 9 7:13pm CT
    Sam Darnold

Dynasty | Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy completed 4-of-7 passes for 30 yards in Minnesota's preseason opener. Dynasty Analysis: He added eight rushing yards. McCarthy looked the part and while you can't really gain too much out of a series or two in a preseason game, he certainly seemed to be in total control of the offense. Sam Darnold's season from last year is likely the ceiling for McCarthy but his ADP is on the rise after losing his rookie season to a torn meniscus and now looking fully healthy and ready to go.

Rondale Moore Aug 9 7:13pm CT
    Rondale Moore

Dynasty | Vikings receiver Rondale Moore was carted off after injuring his leg in Minnesota's preseason opener. Dynasty Analysis: There is no official word on the severity of the injury but this had the looks and sounds of another season ending injury for Moore. If you were to make a list of players who just can't catch a break recently, he's at the top of the list after missing last season with a right leg injury. This one seems to be on his left side. Moore slammed his fist in disgust before wrapping a towel around his head in a pure show of emotion. Unfortunately, if this is indeed a season-ending injury, it's going to wipe out what little dynasty value he had left.

Joe Mixon Aug 9 7:13pm CT
    Joe Mixon

Dynasty | Texans rookie running back Woody Marks posted four yards on three carries in the Texans preseason opener. Dynasty Analysis: Marks is one of the more popular late round rookie dart throws this off-season. After all, Joe Mixon is hurt and Nick Chubb has reportedly not looked great in practice. However, today left a lot to be desired. While he was second in line after Dare Ogunbowale he just didn't do much with his limited opportunities. There are likely better days to come, but Marks needs to do something here quickly to have any chance at an early season role.

Mitchell Trubisky Aug 9 6:30pm CT
    Mitchell Trubisky

With reigning MVP Josh Allen sitting out Saturday's preseason opener against the New York Giants, the Buffalo Bills handed the reins to reserve quarterback Mitch Trubisky to start the game. The 30-year-old performed well in a 34-25 loss in the first half, completing nine of his 13 passing attempts for 138 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown to tight end Dawson Knox. In his final drive of the day, Trubisky found wide receiver Tyrell Shavers downfield for 58 yards to set the Bills up for a chip-shot field goal in the waning seconds of the half. Trubisky appeared in nine games for the Bills last year, mostly working in mop-up duty, and connected on 19 of 26 passes for 179 yards and two scores. Formerly a starter with the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers, Trubisky has spent the summer battling Mike White for the No. 2 role in Buffalo. White also played well on Saturday, meaning neither quarterback has pulled away in the race. The next opportunity to do so will come Aug. 17 against the Bears, who made the ill-fated decision to draft Trubisky second overall in 2017.

    From RotoBaller

Mike White Aug 9 6:30pm CT
    Mike White

Buffalo Bills quarterback Mike White came out of the gates slowly but finished strong in a 34-25 preseason-opening loss to the New York Giants on Saturday. White, who's competing with Mitchell Trubisky for the backup role behind Josh Allen, took over after halftime and missed on his first four attempts. Tight ends Jackson Hawes and Zach Davidson each dropped a pass, but White was unfazed. He went on to complete eight of his last nine throws to finish 8-for-13 for 112 yards and two touchdowns. White rolled to his right to find wide receiver KJ Hamler in the end zone for a 39-yard score on a fourth-and-four play and later dumped off a seven-yard TD to running back Darrynton Evans. It was a good day for White, a former New York Jet and Miami Dolphin, but it came after Trubisky held his own in the first half. The two will continue a wide-open battle for the No. 2 job against the Chicago Bears on Aug. 17.

    From RotoBaller

Tyrell Shavers Aug 9 6:20pm CT
    Tyrell Shavers

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Tyrell Shavers totaled a team-high 70 yards on two catches in a 34-25 preseason-opening loss to the New York Giants on Saturday. Shavers finished with four targets and did the majority of his damage on a 58-yard connection with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky near the end of the first half. Now 25 years old, Shavers has been with the Bills since they signed him as an undrafted free agent from San Diego State in 2023. He made the only three regular-season appearances of his career in 2024 and recorded his lone catch, a dump-off from Trubisky that he turned into a 69-yard touchdown in a Week 17 rout of the New York Jets. Shavers is fighting for a roster spot this summer behind Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Curtis Samuel, and Elijah Moore. While Saturday's performance should help his cause, his ability to play special teams may be what earns him a job.

    From RotoBaller

Ray Davis Aug 9 6:10pm CT
    Ray Davis

With Buffalo Bills star running back James Cook staging a hold-in and unwilling to play Saturday, Ray Davis earned the start in the team's 34-25 preseason-opening loss to the New York Giants. Davis rushed for just seven yards on four attempts and caught one of two targets for another seven yards. As the Bills' emergency kicker, his most memorable highlight came on a successful extra-point attempt in the second quarter. The 5-foot-8, 220-pound Davis joined the Bills as a fourth-round pick from Kentucky in 2024 and was a capable reserve behind Cook as a rookie. Davis appeared in all 17 of the Bills' regular-season games and totaled 442 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 113 rushing attempts. He also caught three TDs and pulled in 17 of his 19 targets for 189 yards. With third-down back Ty Johnson also in the fold, Davis took around 25% of offensive snaps last season. That should be the case again in 2025, but Davis might have an expanded role early on if Cook is unavailable. While Cook seems unlikely to sit out into Week 1 over dissatisfaction with his contract, Davis figures to be the main beneficiary if he does. Cook missed one game last season, a 23-20 win over the New York Jets in Week 6, and Davis accrued 152 total yards (97 rushing, 55 receiving) on 23 touches as Buffalo's go-to back.

    From RotoBaller

James Cook Aug 9 5:00pm CT
    James Cook

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook is "not willing to play" as he continues to seek a contract extension with the Buffalo Bills. Cook is currently participating in a "hold-in" during the team's practices. He did not participate during their opening preseason game on Saturday afternoon. While the 25-year-old was present and participated during the team's early practice sessions in the offseason, this past week, he has opted not to participate as he seeks an extension. Fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his status in case this holdout continues to extend into the final weeks of the preseason. Last season, Cook enjoyed a career year as he found the back of the end zone 18 times, including 16 times on the ground. He also racked up over 1,000 yards on the ground for the second-straight campaign. While Cook continues to remain sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Ray Davis and Ty Johnson to serve as the top options in the backfield.

Jalen Coker Aug 9 4:10pm CT
    Jalen Coker

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker made a strong statement in Friday's 30-10 preseason loss against the Cleveland Browns, capitalizing on an expanded role with a stat line of 2-17-1 on four targets. Entering his second year after a rookie season stat line of (32-478-2), Coker demonstrated the offseason growth that coaches had challenged him to achieve. Coker's standout performance included a five-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Bryce Young. The play came after Coker, who entered the game early following a Xavier Legette ejection, navigated a scramble play and found a hole in the back of the end zone. The impressive performance earned praise from head coach Dave Canales, who had worked closely with Coker on an offseason development plan. "Coker comes in when Xavier goes out and did a fantastic job, like we didn't skip a beat, made some great plays," Canales said, per a report on the Carolina Panthers website by Kassidy Hill. Coker, who also played on special teams, acknowledged the need to expand his game in a now-crowded receiver room. "I'm going to need to bring more than just catching the football," Coker said. His commitment to the plan, including staying in Charlotte for offseason training, appears to be paying off early in his second professional season.

Dante Miller Aug 9 4:10pm CT
    Dante Miller

New York Giants running back Dante Miller finished with a team-high 102 total yards in a preseason-opening 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. Miller did most of his damage through the air, catching all seven of his targets for 80 yards, and added 22 rushing yards on 10 carries. The 5-foot-9, 200-pounder went undrafted out of South Carolina in 2023 and is currently in his second season with the Giants organization. He appeared in two games with the team last year and is now jockeying for position behind fellow running backs Tyrone Tracy Jr., injured rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring), and Devin Singletary. Odds are still against Miller making much of an impact in 2025, but he's off to a good start in his battle for a roster spot.

    From RotoBaller

Russell Wilson Aug 9 4:00pm CT
    Russell Wilson

New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson made his debut with the club in a 34-25 preseason win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. Wilson played the opening series and completed 6 of 7 passes for 28 yards, but a couple of penalties stalled the Giants' momentum during an impressive drive and forced them to settle for a field goal. The 36-year-old Wilson didn't have either of his top two wide receivers, Malik Nabers or Darius Slayton, who sat out with minor injuries. They'll be around in Week 1 when the Wilson-led Giants take on the division-rival Washington Commanders. In the meantime, it's unclear how much more playing time (if any) Wilson will receive in the Giants' final two preseason games. He's their unquestioned starter heading into the regular season, but he doesn't carry much fantasy appeal after producing unspectacular numbers in Pittsburgh last year.

    From RotoBaller

Jaxson Dart Aug 9 3:40pm CT
    Jaxson Dart

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart made his preseason debut Saturday and turned heads in a 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills. Dart, not veteran backup Jameis Winston, entered the game after the Giants pulled starter Russell Wilson in the first quarter. The 25th overall pick from Ole Miss stayed in for the rest of the first half and hit on 12 of 19 pass attempts for 154 yards, including a beautifully thrown 28-yard touchdown to Lil'Jordan Humphrey. Dart also used his legs effectively, adding 24 rushing yards on three attempts. There was a lot to like about Dart's NFL debut, but if the Giants have their way, he'll spend the first year of his career learning from the bench before potentially assuming the starting role in 2026. He'll make his next preseason appearance on Saturday against the Jets.

    From RotoBaller

Rico Dowdle Aug 9 3:20pm CT
    Rico Dowdle

Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle showed a glimpse of his potential as a pass-catching threat in the team's preseason debut against the Cleveland Browns, recording one reception for 20 yards to go along with two rushes for seven yards. The 27-year-old running back is entering his sixth season in the NFL after spending his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys, which was riddled with injuries. Dowdle is clearly behind Chuba Hubbard on the depth chart, but could carve out a role in the Panthers' receiving or two-minute offense in 2025. Coming off an underwhelming 2024 season in Dallas, where high hopes for the lead back role didn't materialize (235-1,079-2 on the ground, 39-249-3 in the air), a move to a new location and a backup role could take some pressure off Dowdle and allow him to grow into his potential. Rotoballer currently projects him as RB55, but Dowdle could be a sneaky stash if anything happens to Hubbard throughout the season.

Easton Stick Aug 9 3:20pm CT
    Easton Stick

With Atlanta Falcons No. 1 quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and backup Kirk Cousins sitting out Friday, third-stringer Easton Stick got the start against the Detroit Lions. Stick impressed in a 17-10 loss, completing 15 of 18 attempts for 149 yards and a touchdown. The former fifth-round pick spent the first six seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers before joining the Falcons in free agency this past spring. Stick appeared in six games with the Chargers (four starts) and completed 64% of passes with three touchdowns and an interception. If the Falcons keep three quarterbacks, Stick looks like the front-runner for the role, though he is competing with Emory Jones. The 25-year-old Jones has no regular-season experience in the NFL, but he did go 4-for-5 for 49 yards and add nine more yards on two rushes in relief of Stick on Friday. Stick and Jones will continue battling for a roster spot on Aug. 15 against the Tennessee Titans.

Jaxson Dart Aug 9 3:13pm CT
    Jaxson Dart

Dynasty | Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 12-of-19 passes for 154 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in New York's preseason opener. Dynasty Analysis: He added 24 rushing yards on the day. Dart replaced Russell Wilson after the first series and did nothing to make him feel very secure. Playing ahead of Jameis Winston this week, Dart made some solid throws and looked very much in control of things. There will likely be some ups and downs and the Giants would love nothing more than to keep him on ice this season, but a few more performances like this combined with a slow start would likely change their plans rather quickly. Dart's ADP could tick up a touch after such a solid debut.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Chuba Hubbard Aug 9 3:10pm CT
    Chuba Hubbard

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard opened the preseason with three rushes for 10 yards in Friday's 30-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns. While his stats were light, the 26-year-old is expected to resume his role as the team's lead back after an impressive 2024 campaign. Last year, Hubbard emerged as a bell-cow, capitalizing on injuries to Miles Sanders and Jonathon Brooks (knee) to post a stat line of 250 rushes for 1,195 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, along with 43 receptions for 171 yards and one touchdown through the air in 15 games. He signed a four-year, $33.2 million contract extension in the middle of the season. RotoBaller projects Hubbard as RB17 heading into the regular season, reflecting his expected workload as the top option in the Carolina backfield and a steady, high-end RB2.
