Sean Payton Jan 31 1:00am ET
    Sean Payton

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that former Stanford head coach David Shaw and the Detroit Lions agreed to a multi-year deal on Thursday for him to serve as the team's new passing-game coordinator, according to sources. The 52-year-old worked with new offensive coordinator John Morton with the Denver Broncos. Shaw served as the Broncos' senior personnel executive in 2024, while Morton was Denver's passing-game coordinator under head coach Sean Payton in both 2023 and 2024. He held the Stanford head-coaching gig from 2011-2022 and had double-digit wins in five of his six seasons at the helm. This will be his first coaching job since then. Both he and Morton will try to pick up where Ben Johnson left off after molding Detroit's offense into one of the highest-scoring units over the last few seasons.

Sam Darnold Jan 31 12:30am ET
    Sam Darnold

The Houston Texans have interviewed Grant Udinski for their vacant offensive-coordinator position. Udinski has been popular this offseason given this is his fourth interview. He also interviewed with the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before talking with Houston. Udinski is currently the assistant offensive coordinator and assistant quarterbacks coach with the Minnesota Vikings. He has done an excellent job there especially with helping Sam Darnold shine in that system. The Texans have been talking with a handful of coaches for their vacant OC job, so it's unclear who is the favorite for this job.

Brian Johnson Jan 30 9:30pm ET
    Brian Johnson

The Houston Texans have requested to interview Brian Johnson for their vacant offensive coordinator position. Johnson is currently the passing game coordinator with the Washington Commanders. He was the offensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. After that, Johnson joined the Commanders staff last offseason, but he might be done with that after one season. It's no surprise that Johnson is getting looked at for OC jobs after the season Jayden Daniels put together this past season. He did a fine job as the Eagles offensive coordinator, so maybe it's time for him to try it again.

Skyy Moore Jan 30 7:40pm ET
    Skyy Moore

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Skyy Moore (abdomen) had his practice window opened on Thursday to return from Injured Reserve and he was listed as limited. While Moore remains on IR, it means that he now has a shot to be activated in order to play in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The 24-year-old landed on IR with a core-muscle injury back on Oct. 24 but is feeling good enough to return to the practice field. The former second-round selection was not expected to be able to return for the Chiefs' playoff run, though, so even though he's back at practice, there's no guarantee KC will make him active for the Super Bowl. In six games in 2024 before his injury, Moore only saw three receptions and couldn't haul any of them in. If Moore is active against the Eagles, don't expect him to be on the field much, if at all, in New Orleans.

Nolan Smith Jan 30 7:30pm ET
    Nolan Smith

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith (illness) was under the weather on Thursday and did not practice with the rest of the team. Smith practiced in full on Wednesday but popped up on this week's injury report due to an illness. With Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs not coming until Sunday, Feb. 9, the 24-year-old has plenty of time to rest up, so it would be a surprise if he's not available for the big game next weekend. The first-round selection in the 2023 NFL draft (30th overall) has improved in his second year in the NFL, recording 42 tackles (21 solo), 6.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, 11 QB hits and a forced fumble in 16 regular-season games (10 starts) for the Eagles' top-ranked defense. While Smith isn't a star for Philly's defense, he's been plenty productive. Expect him to play against the Chiefs on Super Bowl Sunday.

Kenneth Gainwell Jan 30 7:20pm ET
    Kenneth Gainwell

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell (concussion, knee) was listed as a non-participant in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Gainwell suffered a concussion in the NFC Championship win over the division-rival Washington Commanders last Sunday and is also nursing a knee injury. His status is certainly up in the air for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the good news is that Gainwell will have an extra week to try and clear the league's concussion protocol. Don't expect him to return to practice on Friday, but Gainwell is probably going to need to return to a full practice by the end of next week to have a shot at playing against the Chiefs. If he isn't cleared by an independent neurologist by next Friday, chances are it will be Will Shipley backing up Saquon Barkley in the Super Bowl for the Eagles.

Dallas Goedert Jan 30 4:40pm ET
    Dallas Goedert

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (ankle, rest) was seen sitting on a heated bench during the team's practice on Thursday and will pick up another DNP for the second straight day this week. Goedert also missed two practices last week before catching seven of his eight targets for 85 yards in the 55-23 victory over the division-rival Washington Commanders in last week's NFC Championship tilt. With an extra week off before Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, against the Kansas City Chiefs, the 30-year-old veteran will almost certainly be ready to go. But the Eagles could decide to give him the entire week off to rest his ankle and get it closer to 100%. Goedert should be a full-go in the Super Bowl against KC after catching 15 of his 18 targets for 188 yards and a touchdown in three playoff wins over the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Commanders.

DeVonta Smith Jan 30 4:30pm ET
    DeVonta Smith

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) was seen sitting on a heated bench during practice on Thursday and will be a DNP for the second straight day this week. Smith appears to have picked up a hamstring issue after the win over the division-rival Washington Commanders last Sunday in the NFC Championship game, but the Eagles are most likely just resting their No. 2 wideout with the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs not coming until Sunday, Feb. 9. It's possible that he doesn't get back onto the field until late next week, but nobody should be panicking that he won't be available for the big game next weekend. The 26-year-old hasn't scored in three playoff games but does have 12 receptions for 121 yards on his 12 targets in wins over the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Commanders.

Jermaine Burton Jan 30 2:50pm ET
    Jermaine Burton

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton was selected with the No. 80 overall pick (third round) in the 2024 NFL Draft after a strong final season at Alabama. However, the 23-year-old played sparingly in his rookie season and caught just four passes for 107 yards on 14 targets in 14 games. At the Senior Bowl this year, Bengals director of player personnel spoke on Burton's status with the organization. "He's done nothing, and he's going to have to start doing something quickly. We knew we were taking a risk. We felt comfortable that we could help him through some of the challenges he's had in the past, and we're going to continue to try to help him," Tobin said. "But this is professional football, and you have to take accountability, and you have to be accountable to your teammates, your coaches, and the team that you're playing for, and he has to figure that out." Burton notably did not travel with the team for a must-win game against the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the 2024 campaign and seems to be falling out of favor with the coaching staff and front office quickly. The speedster could be at risk of being released or traded before the next regular season.

Brian Schottenheimer Jan 30 2:30pm ET
    Brian Schottenheimer

The Dallas Cowboys are considering former Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator to fill the vacant offensive coordinator role under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. A formal interview has not been planned, but the two sides are expected to meet at some point in the coming days. Dorsey, a former National Championship-winning quarterback at Miami, was fired as Buffalo's offensive coordinator in the middle of the 2023 season before joining Cleveland's staff in 2024, where he called plays in the second half of the year. The Cowboys have already announced that Schottenheimer will call offensive players in 2025.

Joe Burrow Jan 30 2:20pm ET
    Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals defense end Trey Hendrickson hoped to sign a contract extension or be traded last offseason, but the two sides did not come to an agreement. After two straight 17.5-sack seasons, his asking price is likely even higher, but the front office might have trouble signing him to a long-term deal. "Has he earned a pay raise and a bump in an extension he has," Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin said. "We're cognizant of that, and we will give that to him. But whether we agree on what that looks like is, is what is to be determined." Cincinnati has already signed quarterback Joe Burrow to a hefty long-term deal, and both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are seeking new deals heading into 2025. "We can't have guys at the top of the payroll in every position, right?" Tobin said. "We'll do what we can." It's a tricky situation to navigate for the franchise, but it's unlikely that Hendrickson, Chase, and Higgins will all be signed to deals making them among the highest-paid players at their respective positions.

Justin Tucker Jan 30 2:10pm ET
    Justin Tucker

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by six massage therapists, according to the Baltimore Banner. According to the Baltimore Banner's article, Tucker engaged in inappropriate behavior at multiple high-end spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area. Multiple therapists say they ended Tucker's sessions early due to his "egregious" behavior, and he has been banned from two spas in the area. Needless to say, this development will be worth monitoring, and further information will likely be available in the next few days and weeks. Just last week, the Ravens said they expect to have Tucker back for his 14th NFL season in 2025.

Tee Higgins Jan 30 12:40pm ET
    Tee Higgins

The top priority for the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason is signing All-Pro wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase to a long-term contract extension that is expected to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. Despite that, director of player personnel Duke Tobin said the team needs to find the "right number" to re-sign impending free-agent wideout Tee Higgins as well. Most folks have assumed that Higgins will leave in free agency, and even Tobin admitted "it's going to be hard" for the Bengals to bring Higgins back. Plenty of teams are in need of a receiver of Higgins' caliber, so he's likely to receive plenty of lucrative offers that will exceed what the Bengals are able to offer. It will all depend on if the 26-year-old is willing to accept a "hometown" discount to stay with Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow. Leaving Cincy would give Higgins a higher fantasy ceiling, depending on where he ends up.

    C.J. Uzomah Jan 30 12:40pm ET
    C.J. Uzomah

The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Thursday that they opened the practice window for tight end C.J. Uzomah (abdomen) to return from Injured Reserve. In other moves, the team signed running back Lew Nichols to the practice squad and released tight end Nick Muse from their practice squad. It means that Uzomah can resume practicing with the team, giving him a chance to play in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 32-year-old suffered an abdominal injury in Week 17 but is on the mend and has a chance to play in the big game with an extra week off before the Super Bowl. However, even if Uzomah is officially activated from IR and is active against the Chiefs, he may not even see the field. The former Bengals tight end played in only seven regular-season games for Philly and was not targeted at all.

Brandon Graham Jan 30 12:30pm ET
    Brandon Graham

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Philadelphia Eagles opened the practice window for defensive end Brandon Graham (triceps) to return from Injured Reserve on Thursday, which gives him a chance to return for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9, against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles said earlier this week that they were keeping the door open for Graham to potentially play in the Super Bowl despite the fact that he tore his triceps in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams. The 36-year-old pass-rusher has been on IR ever since, but it looks like he'll attempt to practice the remainder of this week and next in an attempt to rejoin his teammates for the Super Bowl next weekend. The Eagles would have to officially activate Graham from IR before next Saturday so that he's eligible to play. Getting Graham back would be a boost to the No. 1 overall defense, but it's unlikely he'd play more than a rotational role if he's active.

Russell Wilson Jan 30 12:20pm ET
    Russell Wilson

The Athletic's Vic Tafur writes that all signs are pointing to Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach/passing-game coordinator Darrell Bevell becoming the next offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders under new head coach Pete Carroll. Bevell and Carroll coached together with the Seattle Seahawks for seven seasons, including a Super Bowl championship, so a reunion in Vegas makes plenty of sense. Carroll doesn't call offensive plays as the head coach, so hiring a trusted coach that he has plenty of experience with makes total sense. Bevell was the offensive coordinator for Seattle from 2011-17. The Raiders have already been linked to potentially going after impending free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson, and those rumors would get even stronger if Bevell joined the fray in the desert. Bevell helped Wilson develop into one of the best QBs in the NFL in their time in Seattle.

Maxx Crosby Jan 30 12:10pm ET
    Maxx Crosby

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Las Vegas Raiders re-signed defensive coordinator Patrick Graham on Thursday, according to sources. Graham's contract with the Raiders expired after the 2024 season and he had other options, including heading to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he ultimately was convinced to return by new head coach Pete Carroll and minority owner Tom Brady. He has been in Vegas since he was hired as the defensive coordinator in 2022 as part of head coach Josh McDaniels' staff. Under Graham in 2024, the Raiders defense finished 25th in scoring defense, but injuries to key players on that side of the ball, including All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby, didn't make things easy. Graham served as the defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants before joining the Raiders.

Zach Davidson Jan 30 4:00am ET
    Zach Davidson

The Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday that they re-signed tight end Zach Davidson to a Reserve/Futures deal. Davidson spent most of the 2024 season on the team's practice squad but was elevated to the active 53-man roster for three games. The 26-year-old only caught one of two targets for five yards on offense, though, while also seeing work on special teams. That is the only action he's seen in the NFL since the Minnesota Vikings made him a fifth-round selection in 2021 out of Central Missouri State. Davidson will continue his development with the Bills this offseason through organized team activities and training camp as he looks to win a spot on the 53-man active roster for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season.

    Khalid Kareem

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that they signed free-agent tight end Nikola Kalinic to a Reserve/Future contract. The 28-year-old appeared in two games with the Los Angeles Rams in 2024 and previously played in the Canadian Football League from 2019-22 before joining the Indianapolis Colts. Since the end of the season in addition to Kalinic, Atlanta has signed quarterback Emory Jones, wide receivers Phillips Dorsett, Jesse Matthews, Dylan Drummond, Makai Polk and David Sills, running back Elijah Dotson, offensive linemen Joey Fisher, Jovaughn Gwyn, Tyron Wheatley Jr. and Matthew Cindric, defensive linemen Junior Aho, Khalid Kareem and LaCale London, and defensive backs Lamar Jackson and Benny Sapp III to Reserve/Futures deals.
