Shedeur Sanders Apr 23 11:50pm ET
    Shedeur Sanders

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders' value heading into this week's NFL draft is all over the map, according to evaluators across the NFL. "Show me a QB that takes a lot of sacks in college and can translate his game to the NFL," an unnamed veteran coach said. Sanders was sacked 92 times over two seasons with the Buffaloes and often times drifted in the pocket and held onto the all too long. The Athletic's draft expert Dane Brugler noted that Sanders' three worst games on tape came against Colorado's three toughest Big 12 opponents. The 23-year-old signal-caller was believed to the top QB prospect at the start of the offseason, but Miami's Cam Ward has leaped him, and now it's possible Sanders could fall all the way out of the first round on Thursday night. Sanders could be more of a developmental QB prospect, which has the Giants hesitant about whether to take him at No. 3 overall.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars, who own the No. 5 overall pick, and the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 6) have both expressed interest in moving up at the top of the first round if the player they want is available, according to sources. Russini was told that the Jaguars are hoping to keep this year's draft "electric" with first-year head coach Liam Coen and first-year general manager James Gladstone, and they are looking for an offensive player (Travis Hunter?). For the right trade offer, though, the Jaguars remain open to moving down from the No. 5 pick as well. If the Jaguars or Raiders were to swing a trade to move up to somewhere in the No. 2 to 4 pick range, it would most likely be for either Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter. The Browns, Giants and Patriots hold picks No. 2 through 4, respectively.

Raheem Mostert Apr 23 11:30pm ET
    Raheem Mostert

The Las Vegas Raiders spent a lot of time this offseason doing their homework on Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty under new general manager John Spytek, but The Athletic's Dianna Russini writes that strong cases are being made in Vegas' draft room to address their offensive line with the No. 6 overall pick on Thursday night instead. The Raiders reportedly have been interested in moving up into the top five picks of this year's NFL draft while also being open to moving back, depending on what transpires early on. Jeanty is the obvious fit for the Raiders, even after they added veteran Raheem Mostert to their backfield in free agency. However, with such a deep class at the RB position this year, the Raiders may not feel pressured to pull the trigger on Jeanty in the top 10 if they stay put at pick No. 6 overall.

Derek Carr Apr 23 11:20pm ET
    Derek Carr

The New Orleans Saints will not be picking up the fifth-year option on offensive lineman Trevor Penning for the 2026 season. They announced earlier on Wednesday that they will pick up the fifth-year option for wide receiver Chris Olave. It's a no-brainer decision for the Saints on the 25-year-old Penning, who hasn't exactly panned out as a reliable starter on their offensive line since they took him 19th overall in 2022 out of Northern Iowa. He did start all 17 games at right tackle for the Saints in 2024 after starting just six games in his first two years in the league in 2022 and 2023, but Penning was a liability in pass protection for beat-up quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) and those that replaced him due to injury. With the news, Penning is now scheduled to become a free agent after the upcoming 2025 season.

George Pickens Apr 23 11:10pm ET
    George Pickens

Sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz that multiple teams have brought up Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens' name up in trade discussions, and he's a name to watch with the 2025 NFL draft kicking off on Thursday night. The Steelers aren't actively shopping Pickens, but trade talks have taken place as the 24-year-old pass-catcher enters the final year of his contract in 2025. The Steelers could use some more draft capital after giving away their second-rounder this year to acquire DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks, but they are also excited about the possibilities in 2025 with Metcalf and Pickens sharing the field on offense. It sounds like the Steelers aren't in a rush to get rid of Pickens, even though his long-term future with the organization is in question, but they could give in if a team offers them something too good to pass up. Stay tuned.

Nick Chubb Apr 23 11:10pm ET
    Nick Chubb

While long-time Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (foot) remains on the free-agent market on the eve of the 2025 NFL draft, he doesn't appear to be considering retirement. "They've already wrote my ending when I'm just getting started," Chubb wrote on Instagram, adding a bat emoji. Chubb also posted a video on his social media page of him squatting significant weight, which is something he hadn't really done since a devastating knee injury that he suffered early in the 2023 season. The 29-year-old second-rounder and four-time Pro Bowler returned to play in eight games for the Browns in 2024 but didn't look like the same guy, averaging a career-worst 3.3 yards per carry on 102 rushing attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Chubb also suffered a season-ending foot fracture in December, which no doubt has many teams skeptical about how much he can offer moving forward.

Rashee Rice Apr 23 11:00pm ET
    Rashee Rice

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes confirmed that wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) is healthy and has been taking part in the team's voluntary offseason workouts. "The expectations are high," Mahomes said of Rice. "I mean, he looks really good. He's running routes. He's catching the football. I don't know when we get back into the actual OTAs, how much he'll be able to do, but he's been able to do everything here, as far as running routes and everything like that." It's great news for the 25-year-old, who suffered a season-ending LCL tear in Week 4 against the Chargers last year. The Chiefs will likely be cautious with Rice when OTAs begin, but barring a setback, he's fully expected to be ready for training camp and the start of the 2025 regular season this fall. In addition to coming off a major knee injury, Rice could be facing discipline from the league for an off-the-field incident. But all that aside, he has clear WR1 upside.

Tetairoa McMillan Apr 23 10:50pm ET
    Tetairoa McMillan

ESPN NFL draft analyst Todd McShay has Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan ranked as the 50th overall prospect on his draft board this year due to concerns about his effort, saying that he quit on over-the-middle targets and didn't work hard enough with the Sun Devils. McMillan still managed to produce 1,319 receiving yards and eight touchdowns at Arizona in his final collegiate season in 2024 and is considered by many to be one of the top prospects at the receiver position heading into this week's draft. Teams like the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys could surely use a talent like McMillan in their offense. The Patriots have the fourth overall pick in the first round on Thursday night, while the Saints sit at No. 9, and the Cowboys have the No. 12 overall selection. Depending on where McMillan lands, he could make an immediate fantasy impact in 2025.

Jahan Dotson Apr 23 10:40pm ET
    Jahan Dotson

The Philadelphia Eagles declined the fifth-year option on wide receiver Jahan Dotson on Wednesday, a source told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. It means that the former 16th overall pick of the Washington Commanders in 2022 out of Penn State will head into a contract year in 2025. The 25-year-old pass-catcher spent the first two years of his career with Washington before joining the division-rival Eagles in 2024 and winning a Super Bowl with them. He was much more productive in his first two years in D.C., as he caught just 19 of 33 targets for 216 yards and no touchdowns with Philly in 17 regular-season games (six starts). The Eagles just had two many other weapons on offense for Dotson to really make a mark production-wise as the No. 4 aerial target behind wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert. Barring an injury to Brown or Smith in 2025, Dotson will be off the fantasy radar in most leagues.

Ashton Jeanty Apr 23 10:07pm ET
    Ashton Jeanty

The Denver Broncos have been rumored to be interested in Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty or North Carolina ball carrier Omarion Hampton, but the team is not expected to trade up in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. "Denver is comfortable with sticking at pick No. 20 and selecting the player it wants or trading back," Russini wrote. "I heard the Broncos love some of the running backs, but not enough to move up." While Jeanty or Hampton would have tremendous fantasy football upside in Sean Payton's offense, the 2025 rookie running back class is strong and loaded with depth, so Denver could opt to pick one in Round 2 or 3 if Hampton is already off the board when their No. 20 overall selection rolls around.

Patrick Mahomes Apr 23 9:13pm ET
    Patrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes said he want to throw the ball down the field more next season. 'So the goal is to try to build on it and get even better and try to get back to some of the explosive passing plays that we've done in years past,' Mahomes said.

Fantasy Spin: Mahomes is coming off a career low in passing yards, and his 26 touchdown passes were tied for his fewest in a season. His dip in production hasn't exactly stopped the Chiefs from winning, but a more aggressive approach would be welcomed by fantasy owners.

Jake Fromm Apr 23 7:50pm ET
    Jake Fromm

Per the team, the Detroit Lions have released quarterback Jake Fromm ahead of this weekend's draft. Their roster now sits at 73 players. The 26-year-old has hopped around the league over his five-year career, serving stints with the Lions, Commanders, Giants, and Bills -- the team that selected him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In three career appearances (one start), he racked up 210 passing yards and a 1:3 TD:INT ratio on a 45% completion percentage, chipping in 65 yards on eight rush attempts. The 26-year-old hasn't seen in-game action since the 2021 season during his time with the Giants. Fromm signed a Futures contract with Detroit back in January, but their recent acquisition of quarterback Kyle Allen must have eased them enough to cut ties with him.

Cameron Young Apr 23 7:40pm ET
    Cameron Young

On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks waived defensive tackle Cameron Young after two years with the team. Seattle drafted the Mississippi State alum in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In the ensuing season, he appeared in 16 games for the organization (one start). However, he'd suit up for a lone contest in 2024. Young tallied 18 tackles (ten solo), one tackle-for-loss, and one QB hit during his time with the Seahawks. Seattle's roster now sits officially at 67 players, allowing them the flexibility to select and sign up to 23 additional athletes over this weekend's draft. They currently hold ten picks, including five in the top 92.

Kerby Joseph Apr 23 7:30pm ET
    Kerby Joseph

The Detroit Lions have agreed with defensive back Kerby Joseph on a four-year, $86 million extension per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Joseph's new contract ties him to Detroit through the 2029 season, making him the highest-paid safety in NFL history. The Illinois product led his team and the league last year with nine interceptions and placed third on the Lions with 83 total tackles. He's missed just two games in his three years with the organization, notching at least 74 takedowns and four INTs in each campaign. The 24-year-old played 99% of the team's defensive snaps in 2024 and will again be a pivotal asset in Detroit's defensive backfield.

    Jahan Dotson

Dynasty | The Eagles have declined the fifth-year option on wide receiver Jahan Dotson. Dynasty Analysis: Dotson was acquired last season and really didn't do anything more for the Eagles than he did for the Commanders. He's quickly gone from a moderately exciting rookie prospect to a bit of a roster clogger. While he's on a lot of dynasty rosters at the moment, that may very well change as managers make room for new rookies in 2025. You can likely move along as there seems to be little to see here.

Chris Olave Apr 23 4:13pm ET
    Chris Olave

Dynasty | The Saints have exercised the fifth-year option on wide receiver Chris Olave. Dynasty Analysis: This decision was a little tougher than advertised, thus the longer wait than anticipated. Olave has been nothing short of fantastic on the field, but his history of concussions, including two scary ones last season are casting a very large shadow over his career. If he can prove to be healthy in the long-term, dynasty managers have themselves a WR1. However, his ADP has starting to fall as there are real questions about his durability. At this point, he's a solid hold in dynasty leagues, though managers who have great concern could consider moving him after a few solid games next season.

    C.J. Stroud Apr 23 4:00pm ET
    C.J. Stroud

The Houston Texans are actively making calls in an attempt to move up in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. General manager Nick Caserio has executed 18 total draft-day trades since taking the job in 2021, most notably trading up for Will Anderson after taking C.J. Stroud in the 2023 NFL Draft. Houston holds the No. 25 pick on Thursday and could get aggressive to add wide receiver or offensive line help on Day 1. While Houston won a playoff game last season, its offense took a step back in Year 2 under Stroud thanks to protection and injury concerns. With sights set on a Super Bowl run during Stroud's rookie deal, don't be surprised if Houston goes all in on a big-time prospect.

Derek Carr Apr 23 3:43pm ET
    Derek Carr

New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr (shoulder) is expected to receive clarity on his shoulder injury in the near future, according to general manager Mickey Loomis.

Fantasy Spin: Carr is in jeopardy of missing the entire 2025 season if he needs surgery, so fantasy players will need to monitor the situation over the next several weeks. Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener likely will compete for the starting job if the Saints do not bring in another quarterback, but neither is more than a No. 2 fantasy QB.

    From TheHuddle

Dak Prescott Apr 23 3:40pm ET
    Dak Prescott

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic and her sources, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to target an offensive skill player with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan and Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden are two names that "could" interest Dallas, Russini wrote. The Cowboys are set at WR1 with All-Pro standout CeeDee Lamb, but the WR2 spot has been a weakness since Amari Cooper was traded to the Cleveland Browns following the 2021 campaign. While Dallas suddenly has holes at multiple offensive positions, the arrival of a talented first-round pass-catcher would provide a boost for quarterback Dak Prescott in fantasy football. Lamb has overall WR1 upside regardless of who Dallas potentially adds to the WR room. McMillan projects as a classic X-wide receiver with contested-catch ability, while Golden is a speedster with downfield pass-catching chops.

Jaxson Dart Apr 23 3:30pm ET
    Jaxson Dart

The New Orleans Saints have a shaky quarterback position after the report of Derek Carr's shoulder injury and have been rumored to be interested in Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders or Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Dianna Russini reports that New Orleans is open to taking the best player available (likely on defense) and selecting a quarterback later in the draft. Potential candidates for that pick include one of the Georgia edge rushers, Jalon Walker or Mykel Williams. Many mock drafts around the industry have slotted a quarterback for the Saints with that selection, but it sounds like that is far from a certainty, and it might even be unlikely.
