Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (groin) is considered day-to-day with a groin injury, a source tells Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Pierce suffered his groin injury during practice over the weekend, but thankfully it does not appear to be very serious despite the fact that he had to be carted to the locker room from the field. Still, there's a good chance the 25-year-old pass-catcher won't be able to suit up for the second preseason game this Saturday against the Green Bay Packers. Heading into the 2025 season, Pierce will be battling for a depth role in Indy alongide Josh Downs and Adonai Mitchell behind WR1 Michael Pittman Jr. Pierce led all receivers in 2024 in yards per catch (22.3), yards per target (11.9) and aDOT (21.4). He also scored seven times, but he only caught 39 total passes, and Indy's QB situation won't exactly endear him to fantasy managers as anything more than a late-round flier.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that wide receiver Marquise Brown (ankle) is still recovering from his left ankld and foot injuries. "He's making great progress," Reid said of Brown. "He's running now." Brown isn't dealing with a high-ankle sprain and is making progress, but he has yet to return to training camp practice with the rest of the team, and it remains to be seen if he'll be cleared to play in the team's second preseason contest this Friday against the Seattle Seahawks. The 28-year-old's status for the start of the 2025 regular season bears watching even more closely with Rashee Rice potentially being suspended for four to six games to begin the year. Brown played in only two regular-season games in 2024 due to a shoulder injury, but he could be the WR2 next to Xavier Worthy in Week 1 if Rice is suspended.

During the New England Patriots' walkthrough practice on Monday, quarterback Drake Maye has gone to wide receiver DeMario Douglas "a ton," according to Taylor Kyles. Douglas is on the rise on fantasy draft boards this year as one of the most productive and consistent wideouts for the Patriots during training camp. The 24-year-old slot receiver could flourish in offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' system after he caught 66 of his 87 targets for 621 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games a year ago. The Patriots also have Stefon Diggs coming back from a torn ACL last year in Houston. If healthy, Diggs will be the team's WR1, but it doesn't mean that Douglas can't be fantasy relevant alongside him, mainly in PPR formats. Right now, Douglas is ranked at RotoBaller as the WR69, so fantasy managers won't need to spend much on him.

Green Bay Packers running backs MarShawn Lloyd (groin) and Emanuel Wilson (knee) were both back at Monday's training camp practice, according to Packers beat writer Mike Spofford. It's good news for Green Bay's backfield heading into Week 2 of the preseason. Lloyd, who played in just one game in his rookie season in 2024 due to injuries, missed the last couple weeks at camp with a non-contact groin injury, but now he's back on the field and should play in the second preseason game this Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts as he looks to secure the RB2 role behind starter Josh Jacobs. Lloyd will be competing with both Wilson and Chris Brooks for change-of-pace work in his second NFL season, and although he's proven to be very injury-prone early in his career, he's still the most intriguing RB in Green Bay behind Jacobs with lots of big-play ability.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) is in street clothes for Monday's training camp practice, even though the expectation was that he would return to practice to begin the week, according to Adam Grosbard of the Los Angeles Daily News. Stafford had no limitations during his workout on Saturday before the team's preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys, and optimism was mounting that he would practice for the first time all summer on Monday. It doesn't appear to be the case, although Stafford could return any day now after being bothered by an aggravated disc in his back. When the 37-year-old veteran does get back on the field, it will likely be in individual drills at first. The Rams currently aren't worried that Stafford won't be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, but fantasy managers are getting more skeptical by the day.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice (groin) is back on the practice field at training camp on Monday. Rice has been dealing with a minor groin injury at camp and was held out of the team's preseason opener on Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals as a result. With Marquise Brown (ankle) also held out due to a minor injury, it allowed Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster more playing time over the weekend. Rice should be completely healthy for the start of the 2025 regular season, but he's expected to be suspended anywhere from four to six games to begin the year due to legal issues surrounding an off-the-field incident. The 25-year-old figures to be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite target when he's on the field, but a potential suspension to begin the year drops him down to more of a WR3/flex target in fantasy drafts.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (undisclosed) miss another training camp practice on Monday, according to Patriots beat writer Evan Lazar. Stevenson apparently picked up an undisclosed injury in Friday's preseason opener against the Washington Commanders, when he had seven carries for 36 yards. The 27-year-old also didn't practice with the rest of the team on Sunday, but it's still unclear exactly what he's dealing with. It's likely something minor, so for now we'll consider Stevenson to be day-to-day. If Stevenson is dealing with a more serious injury, though, it would pretty much ensure that rookie TreVeyon Henderson would open the 2025 campaign as New England's RB1, with Antonio Gibson as the clear No. 2 for the Pats. Stevenson's next chance to play in a game will come this Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Free-agent running back Jamaal Williams is scheduled to work out for the Miami Dolphins on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Williams worked out for the Chicago Bears on Saturday, so he could be getting close to signing with a team for the 2025 season. The 30-year-old played in 14 games for the New Orleans Saints in 2024, rushing for 164 yards and one touchdown on 48 carries. He's a complementary piece at this point, but Williams has been an effective goal-line and short-yardage player at certain times in his career. Miami has Jaylen Wright, Alexander Mattison, and Ollie Gordon II as the leading candidates for the RB2 role behind De'Von Achane. However, Mattison (neck/shoulder) left the team's first preseason game early with neck and shoulder soreness, so Williams could be brought in as a veteran replacement.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins running back Alexander Mattison (neck) has a neck injury that will require season-ending surgery, sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Mattison is expected to make a full recovery, but he will not play at all in 2025. The good news is that he has full strength and motion in his neck. Still, it's a big blow for the 27-year-old seven-year veteran, as he was having a quality training camp for the Dolphins before the injury. Mattison was forced from Sunday's preseason opener againt the Chicago Bears with "neck and shoulder soreness." Before he was injured, Mattison had three carries for eight yards and also caught one of his two targets for a 21-yard gain. Mattison's season-ending injury certainly thins out Miami's depth in the backfield, as rookie Ollie Gordon II is now lined up for the RB3 role behind De'Von Achane and Jaylen Wright.

Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams "continues to see the most reps with the starters" among the team's backfield candidates, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. With Miles Sanders (knee) and Jaydon Blue (ankle/heel) both dealing with injuries, Williams may be a lock to open the season as the lead running back in Dallas. In 17 games for the Denver Broncos last season, Williams rushed for 513 yards and four touchdowns on 139 carries. He profiles as a mid-tier RB4 in fantasy whose upside lies in the potential volume of available touches in the Cowboys' backfield.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Kenny Pickett (hamstring) remains limited to seven-on-seven drills in practice, according to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi. Pickett has been battling a hamstring strain since late July. He's still technically in the race to be the Browns' Week 1 starting quarterback, but all indications are that veteran Joe Flacco is the heavy favorite to win the job. With Pickett and rookie Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) both unavailable for the Browns' first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, Shedeur Sanders was the team's starting quarterback. Gabriel is participating in 11-on-11 drills in practice on Monday, so he could be in line to get his first preseason action against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton (hamstring) is practicing on Monday for the first time since the opening week of training camp, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports. The 26-year-old set career-highs in receptions (59) and receiving yards (600) in 2024 with the Buccaneers despite being limited to just 14 games. Otton is the clear TE1 in Tampa Bay, but he faces significant target competition due to the team's deep wide receiver corps. He does not profile as a starter in one-tight-end fantasy formats, but his outlook would improve if the Buccaneers were to face significant injuries at the wide receiver position.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. led the team in targets Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, hauling in four of five chances for 42 yards. The third-year pro looks to be in play for a depth receiver role on a Saints team in the midst of a quarterback battle. New Orleans is giving a long look to quarterbacks Tyler Though and Spencer Rattler in the preseason, while the receiver room is paced by Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and veteran Brandin Cooks. Austin could be a factor given some of the injury histories elsewhere on the roster, but the Saints' offense looks to be a work in progress.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel stated "coach's decision" as the reason why wide receiver Stefon Diggs did not play in the team's first preseason game against the Washington Commanders, per Mike Kadlick of Sports Illustrated. Kadlick notes that Diggs was late to the team's joint practice with Washington on Wednesday for an undisclosed reason. Every healthy receiver on the Patriots, other than Diggs, played at least one series in the preseason game. The 31-year-old's Patriots' tenure got off to a rough start in late May when a suspicious video of him on a boat surfaced on social media. As such, any potential off-field hiccups for Diggs are worth monitoring, although there's no guarantee that's what is to blame for this most recent incident.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Monday that running back Rachaad White (hamstring) is "day-to-day," according to Pewter Report. The third-year back figures to be a key part of the Bucs' offense when healthy, but the club surely will be cautious with nearly a month to spare before Week 1 games. Managers should keep an eye on the situation, as the prospect of a lingering injury will surely impact draft-day values for both White and backfield mate Bucky Irving.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) is back at practice on Monday and could play this week, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. The rookie did not play in Cleveland's first preseason game as fellow first-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders saw extended time. Gabriel, a third-round pick, figures to be part of the 53-man roster for the Browns, who have what is likely the murkiest quarterback situation in the NFL. Deshaun Watson (achilles) is facing a long-term absence, leaving the quartet of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Sanders, and Gabriel to compete for reps. In one-QB formats, this entire mess can be safely avoided.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Hunter Renfrow (hamstring) was back at practice on Monday, according to Joe Person of The Athletic. The oft-injured receiver is attempting a return to the NFL after missing the entire 2024 season due to ulcerative colitis, which he said caused him to drop down to as low as 150 pounds. A former 1,000-yard receiver with the Raiders, Renfrow's health has kept him from reaching similar heights since. He's competing for a depth role on a Panthers team that rosters Adam Thielen and spent first-round picks on Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette in back-to-back drafts.

Dynasty | Dolphins rookie running back Ollie Gordon had 33 rushing yards, one catch, 39 receiving yards and a touchdown in his NFL preseason debut. Dynasty Analysis: Once a highly touted dynasty prospect, Gordon's value plummeted after a forgettable season at Oklahoma State and a draft weekend freefall. He has a long way to go before making this roster, but would certainly be a viable dynasty roster stash should he avoid the practice squad. At this point, he looks like he could push Jaylen Wright for RB2 duties but he's going to need to string together some good performances in the next couple of weeks to do so. Still, today was a solid start as he showed some real tackle breaking ability and didn't see any of the other running backs do much at all.
Dynasty | Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden caught two passes for 29 yards in his preseason debut. Dynasty Analysis: So far, so good for Burden, who has been drawing great praise ever since being taken by the Bears. While his path to dynasty relevance is going to be tough playing behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, Burden really does look like a player who may have been a victim of circumstance last year when his stats took a nose dive. His rookie ADP is stable and could rise in the next couple of weeks with more good vibes.
Dynasty | Saints running back Kendre Miller had 15 rushing yards on six carries and caught one pass for nine yards in the Saints first preseason game. Dynasty Analysis: Miller is attempting to hold off Devin Neal for backup duties behind Alvin Kamara. However, he's also squarely in a fight to just make the roster with players like Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Cam Akers, Velus Jones Jr. and Marcus Yarns. Neal is currently out with an injury and Miller simply didn't take advantage. While none of the other runners did much, either, dynasty managers are starting to really lose patience here.
