Almost 25% of our fantasy season in the books. The Preseason Rankings have proven, as promised, to be 50% accurate. Couple of teams have built a good safety net, and a couple of teams are in a big hole already.
#1 Kansas Smitty 3-0 With 4 Td’s in 3 weeks Rome Odunze (tied with 2 others) is leading the NFL in TD catches. What a surprise for the Bears and Brent. Brent seems to have someone that really steps up each week. Derrick Henry in week one, Rome week 2, and last week it was Derrick’s white brother Hunter with 90 yards and 2 TDs.
#2 Lou Orleans 3-0 The Preseason rankings really liked this team and for good reason. After a couple of “barely enough to win” games Gray gets a laugher against the Commandovichs. And with only 6 points at QB and RB! How’s that possible? Well with 53 receiver points. Garret Wilson, Sutton and Nico Collins gettn it done!
#3 Mikings 2-1 Leading the league in points and just missing that week 2 win. Would be 3-0. Jaylen Hurts has been stellar, already with 4 rushing TD’s and last week added 3 passing. Points are coming consistently but receiver trouble. Almost everyone either injured or suspended.
#4 Douganeers 1-2 The season was looking oh so promising week one. Josh Allen comes charging out of the gate with 40 points on Sunday night. Loses. Week 2 Allen gets zero. Loses. But week 3 was a different story. 100 points for the week 3 $20 and hands Rob his first loss. Doug has a great team. He’ll be ok.
#5 Patlanta 2-1 After a week one stinker vs Rob (27 total points) Pat turned things around with a 106 point steam rolling of Hank in week 2. 5 TDs from Goff! While nowhere near their superstar status peaks, Tyreek and Davante have been consistently providing points. James Cook might be the best player on the team. Already with 2 100+ games and 4 TDs.
#6 Seahanks 1-2 Did Hank turn his outlook around for the 2025-26 season? If he won with 40 points I’d say no, but that 72 points from Caleb and Taylor (and 92 total) was a certainly a head turner and Hank is suddenly back in the picture for the playoffs. Gets Jeff this week in a bid to get back to .500
#7 Dixons 2-1 Is this last years Chad, who got to 7-1 but winning ugly, or is this team not that bad? There have been some pleasant surprises. Keenan Allen, 3 Tds in 3 weeks, Prescott, David Montgomery has 3 TDs and a 151 yard game, Zay Flowers. But lost Cede Lamb this week. That’s NOT good news. But I predict more wins for Rob, just not this week.
#8 Roryopolis 2-1 2 wins and one loss. Good. Bottom 3 in scoring. Not good. McCaf and Bijan have, so far, been just average. No rushing TDs but each have a receiving. I’m sure Rory was expecting more, and still will probably get more. But those 2 guys were why Rory was top 5 in the preseason rankings. Even with the record, have to drop him to 8
#9 Broncbos 1-2 Bo is still waiting to see if his team can score 70 points. Carson Wentz was the highest scoring player last week with 15, but on the bench. (where he belongs). Mahomes seems to be eager to run the ball in himself this season which is great. 3 in 3 weeks.
#10 Commandovichs 1-2 Hard to believe, but my #1 preseason team has yet to get more than 60 points in the first 3 games. But the team relies a bit on Raiders, and the Raiders don’t score much. Njigba? He’s been pretty good. That high powered Bengal offense has been crippled, leaving J’marr as just another receiver.
#11 Jeffs 0-3 I know. You’re all concerned for Jeff and his quest for a 9th championship. Oddly Lamar Jackson is running away with the league scoring title, while not producing one fantasy win for Jeff. Strange indeed. Well.. I’m going to have to end the Jeff piece here. It’s just too emotional watching him suffer and having to write about it.
#12 Chadgers 0-3 The Burrow injury was devastating. Along with the QB production hit, it also effects the entire Bengals offence, including Tee Higgins. Hasn’t even sniffed a win, or 50 game points. The roster also has other problems. Has 4 runningbacks, none of them even had a carry week 3.
