Time To Start Talking Playoffs

Former School Boy, Current Caveman wins 6 in row

If the playoffs were to start today, I'm not sure we would have picked the 6 automatic qualifiers we currently have.  Spankyz and Injured Reserves would be in.  Brew Crew would be in.  Maybe not too many surprises there. But Jamodaddy has not faded even with last weeks struggle, as Cam would be in the playoffs for the first time in years.  Fish Ticklers, Jared Wilson holds the narrowist of margins for a playoff spot.  And the perhaps left for dead 3 weeks ago, Captain Caveman has won 6 straight games to vault into a playoff spot!  But, out of the 18 teams in our league, 14 teams have legitimate shot at still making the post season party!

Spankyz is back in leading the Big Penix Division after a one week hiatus at 12-4, followed closely by Injured Reserves, who had just beat Spankyz recently at 11-5.  And then the third spot is held by Fish Ticklers and the question of "who wants that last spot?"  Jrods team was able to get a victory last week to move to 9-7, but a fading Dart Knight has now fallen to .500 at 8-8, the rookie in our league, Weve Got The Juice is right in the thick of things at 8-8, your beloved Commish has hung around and even though not scoring alot of points, had two big wins last week, including one over Dart 125-122 to also move to 8-8.  And A-Dawgs find themselves playoff relevant this late into the season.  Aaron's squad sits at 8-7 and just  game and a half behind the last playoff spot.  The Sea-Chickens popped their head into the playoff race for a brief moment after a 1-9 mark, moving to 5-9, but two losses last week make the margins razor thin to stay in it for an automatic spot now at 5-11.  Norm Buds also playing to move up in the standings for better lottery positioning at 3-14.  Norm's really been snake bit.  The teams he has played have scored 2036 points against him.  The next closest is Brew Crew who have had 1856.  Farm Cats have had 1842 then everyone else has had 1700 and 1600+ points against them.  For example, the Injured Reserves have had 400 less points scored against them than Norm Buds.  Unreal.

In the Kelly Championship Division, tough running for the top dogs.  Brew Crew remains in first place at 12-5 despite losing to the two worst teams (by record at least) Norm Buds and Farm Cats.  Les, who has, as we just read, has had the second worse luck with teams scoring big points against them, had the two doormat teams rise up last week to take the Beast down.  Jamodaddy could not take advantage tho, as Cam also lost two games to fall to 11-5 and miss a golden opportunity to take over first place in the division.  But who did take advantage?  How about red hot Captian Caveman!! They won two games last week,  including beating Jamodaddy 103-79 to move to 10-6 and just a game and a half out of first!!  Travis's team has come out of no where, as they were sitting at 4-6 and looking maybe dead at the half way point of our season.  But with the six in a row, Travis moves into an automatic playoff spot!  Who else took advantage?  How about our defending champion 85 Bears.  Kelly put up a week high 163 points to win both games and once again make a late season charge to take a playoff spot.  Da Bears are 10-7 and just a half game behind Caveman.  Also in the race Cheeseheads, who have faded after a strong start.  Tori's team is still in it tho at 9-7, but find themselves outside the top 3 first the first time this year after scoring a league low 59 points last week to lose to two teams under .500  in A-Dawgs and Molsack.  Suckaditka also fell back to 8-8 after losing to those 85 Bears and Spankyz.  Carrie was knocking on the door of the playoffs last week, but the step back finds her 2 games out of a playoff spot.  Wang & Tang also hanging around at 7-9 remains in the chase, just 3 games back.  Molsack at 5-11, even with a win last week, probably have to win out to have any chance of an automatic spot, and more than likely now playing for lottery position as are the tough luck Farm Cats.  As we talked about with Norm, Brittany's team has had the third most points scored against her, even though she did get a win over the BEAST for just her second one as she now sits at 2-14.

5 more weeks left in the regular season.....lots to still be decided! Also this week is Sunday Funday!!  place yet to be determined...
