Week 11 brought us to the final stretch of the season. It was do or die for teams to put themselves in position for a playoff spot or division title. Some stepped up while others faltered. Let’s see how this week turned out.
This week’s Game of the Week was Gotham City Enforcers (5-4-1) vs. The Dream Killers (5-4-1). These two were tied for first place in the Big Finish Division and battling for the division lead. This was a good, competitive game throughout. The Dream Killers kicked things off on Thursday with his QB, Drake Maye, but only got 10 points, and picked up another 26 points from Christian McCaffrey on Sunday. The Enforcers had two players with 10+ points with Matthew Stafford (14) and Eddy Pineiro (12). After the early games, The Dream Killers held a 51-47 lead, but the Enforcers still had two players (Saquon Barkley & Amon-Ra St. Brown) going Sunday night. The Dream Killers could only watch, with little hope, as all his starters were done. Well, the Sunday night game (Lions vs. Eagles) was a defensive battle and the Enforcers only picked up 3 points between his two starters. The Dream Killers (6-4-1) survived for a 51-50 victory over Gotham City Enforcers (5-5-1) and took the Big Finish Division lead.
There was not an explosive game this week. One game of interest, though, based on matchups was Cooper Road Cougars (5-6) vs. New Kid on the Block (5-5-1). These two flipped positions in the Big Finish Division after this week. The Cougars came into this match in third place in the division and the Kid in fourth. The Kid picked up a 79-70 victory over the Cougars and moved into third place. She will try to secure the final playoff spot next week.
This week’s most competitive game was Clown Baby (4-6) vs. REGULATORS (8-2). We could have seen this one coming as the most competitive game since these two shared three players in common; Christian McCaffrey (26), Bijan Robinson (19), and Tee Higgins 10). On top of these performances, the REGULATORS also picked up 10 points from Drake Maye (10) and Clown Baby earned 12 points from Eddy Pineiro. By Sunday night, the REGULATORS held an 83-58 lead, but Clown Baby still had three players going Monday night, and the REGULATORS had to watch. Clown Baby had three Dallas Cowboys players going against the Las Vegas Raiders, so he was in good position. Javonte Williams didn’t do much for him, generating only 3 points. CeeDee Lamb had a solid night with 10 points to get Clown Baby closer. It came down to the Dallas Cowboys’ defense. They harassed Geno Smith all night, picking up 4 sacks and an interception. Heading into the fourth quarter of the game, Clown Baby was still short but pulled within 5 points of the REGULATORS, 83-78. And, early in the 4th quarter, Clown Baby got the break he was looking for. The Dallas Cowboys picked up a safety, propelling Clown Baby (5-6) to an 85-83 victory over the REGULATORS (8-3). This win was huge for Clown Baby, pulling him into a tie for the final playoff spot in the Errors & Omissions Division.
Next week there will be about SEVEN Games of the Week!!! All are to either determine the final playoff spot in the division or the division winner. There are too many to list, I will just tell you about it next week.
See you next week!!!
