Week 8 Preview

TBL2 Weekly Preview – Week 8

WHOOP! Week 7 in TBL2 was a barnburner, folks! The keg has finally been tapped, as Guinness (175.94) got its first win of the season by dropping the high score of the week on a stunned Ozarks. We saw an absolute squeaker as the Jager Bombs (151.52) edged the Rockin Squatches (150.91) by a measly 0.61 points. Meanwhile, the league’s "Death Star," Double Sluggo (159.49), just kept on truckin’ with another massive week.

But hold onto your hats, because Week 8 is here, and it’s not just a game... it's BYEMAGEDDON! This is the week where the NFL schedule rips through our rosters like a rumblin', stumblin', bumblin' linebacker. We've got superstars on the pine, and owners are digging deep... DEEP... into the waiver wire. This is where TBL2 managers earn their pay, navigating the wreckage to steal a "W."

Let's go... to the games!

====================

The Architect (7-3) vs. Ass Pennies (6-4)

Storyline: The Architect is looking to rebound after being dug six feet under by the Grave Diggers last week. Ass Pennies is riding a high, polishing off a close win against the Dusters. This is a massive crossover battle with serious playoff implications.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB The Architect: Andy Dalton Ass Pennies: Josh Allen Edge: Ass Pennies (by a mile)

RBs The Architect: Chuba Hubbard, Devon Achane Ass Pennies: Breece Hall, Jordan Mason, Woody Marks Edge: Ass Pennies (Hall is a beast, and Achane is boom-or-bust)

WRs The Architect: Josh Reynolds, Deebo Samuel, Malik Washington Ass Pennies: Xavier Worthy, Tetairoa McMillan Edge: The Architect (Deebo is the class of this group)

TE The Architect: Jonnu Smith Ass Pennies: Dawson Knox Edge: Push

DL The Architect: Justin Eboigbe Ass Pennies: Quinnen Williams, Greg Rousseau Edge: Ass Pennies

LBs The Architect: Bobby Wagner, Kaden Elliss, Terrel Bernard Ass Pennies: Devin Bush, Christian Rozeboom Edge: The Architect (Wagner is a one-man wrecking crew)

DBs The Architect: Jalen Ramsey, Tyson Campbell Ass Pennies: Justin Reid, Daxton Hill Edge: The Architect

Bottom Line: Ass Pennies has the ultimate weapon in Josh Allen, who could win this matchup all by himself. But The Architect's roster is deeper from top to bottom, especially that veteran IDP corps.

Prediction: The Architect 121.60, Ass Pennies 115.90

What’s at Stake: The Architect needs this to hold onto the UFC North lead. Ass Pennies is trying to stay alive in the brutally tough LFC West.

====================

Crazy Con Men (6-4) vs. Nea Kameni (8-2)

Storyline: A true heavyweight tilt! The Con Men got conned by Sluggo last week and now face the LFC West-leading Nea Kameni, who cruised past Big Possum.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB Crazy Con Men: Drake Maye Nea Kameni: Justin Herbert Edge: Nea Kameni

RBs Crazy Con Men: Rachaad White, Chase Brown Nea Kameni: D'Andre Swift Edge: Crazy Con Men (Better 1-2 punch)

WRs Crazy Con Men: Wan'Dale Robinson, Rome Odunze, Xavier Legette Nea Kameni: Keenan Allen, Jerry Jeudy, Drake London Edge: Nea Kameni (Allen and London are a scary veteran-rookie duo)

TE Crazy Con Men: Cade Otton Nea Kameni: Evan Engram, Kyle Pitts Edge: Nea Kameni

DL Crazy Con Men: Derrick Brown, Laiatu Latu Nea Kameni: George Karlaftis Edge: Crazy Con Men

LBs Crazy Con Men: Bradley Chubb, Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto Nea Kameni: Jordyn Brooks, Daiyan Henley, Shemar James Edge: Nea Kameni (Brooks is a tackling machine)

DBs Crazy Con Men: Christian Gonzalez Nea Kameni: Jalen Pitre, Jordan Battle Edge: Nea Kameni

Bottom Line: The Con Men have a fierce pass rush brewing with that D-Line and LB corps. But Nea Kameni is just loaded. The Herbert-to-Allen connection is back, and the overall roster depth is just too much.

Prediction: Nea Kameni 133.40, Crazy Con Men 106.20

What’s at Stake: NK is fighting to solidify its status as a top-two seed. The Con Men are in a desperate fight for a wildcard spot and can't afford to fall to 6-5.

====================

Fanny Dusters (3-7) vs. Jager Bombs (7-3)

Storyline: The Dusters are trying to play spoiler after a tight loss to AP. The Jager Bombs are still celebrating that 0.61-point miracle win over the Squatches and look like a true contender.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB Fanny Dusters: Aaron Rodgers Jager Bombs: Bo Nix Edge: Fanny Dusters (Rodgers is Rodgers)

RBs Fanny Dusters: Nick Chubb, Kimani Vidal Jager Bombs: Christian McCaffrey, Rico Dowdle Edge: Jager Bombs (It's... Christian... McCaffrey)

WRs Fanny Dusters: KaVontae Turpin, Quentin Johnston Jager Bombs: DeVonta Smith, Ladd McConkey Edge: Jager Bombs

TE Fanny Dusters: Dalton Schultz, Harold Fannin Jr. Jager Bombs: Travis Kelce, Mason Taylor Edge: Jager Bombs (by a country mile)

DL Fanny Dusters: Cameron Heyward, Da'Ron Payne Jager Bombs: Dallas Turner Edge: Fanny Dusters

LBs Fanny Dusters: Robert Spillane Jager Bombs: Lavonte David, Bobby Okereke, Carson Schwesinger Edge: Jager Bombs

DBs Fanny Dusters: Patrick Surtain II, DaRon Bland, Ja'Quan McMillian Jager Bombs: Marcus Jones, Mike Sainristil Edge: Fanny Dusters (That's a nasty DB trio)

Bottom Line: The Dusters have some marquee names on defense, but the Jager Bombs' offensive firepower is terrifying. Having CMC and Travis Kelce on the same roster is a luxury that should carry them to an easy win.

Prediction: Jager Bombs 144.50, Fanny Dusters 97.80

What’s at Stake: JB is locked in a tight race with Jakku for the LFC's top wildcard spot and needs to keep winning to stay ahead.

====================

Big Possum Walks Late (3-7) vs. Jakku Resistance (7-3)

Storyline: The Possum is dragging itself into Week 8 after being throttled by Nea Kameni. The Resistance handled their business against the lowly KingAj86. Byemageddon has not been kind to the Possum, who is without Travis Etienne, Maxx Crosby, and Kenny Pickett.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB Big Possum: Tua Tagovailoa Jakku Resistance: Jalen Hurts Edge: Jakku Resistance

RBs Big Possum: Trevor Etienne, Keaton Mitchell, Isaac Guerendo Jakku Resistance: Aaron Jones, Jaylen Warren Edge: Jakku Resistance (Possum is starting three backups)

WRs Big Possum: Courtland Sutton, Marquise Brown Jakku Resistance: CeeDee Lamb, Ja'Marr Chase Edge: Jakku Resistance (HEAVILY)

TE Big Possum: Chigoziem Okonkwo Jakku Resistance: Dallas Goedert, Tucker Kraft Edge: Jakku Resistance

DL Big Possum: Brian Burns, Justin Madubuike Jakku Resistance: B.J. Hill Edge: Big Possum

LBs Big Possum: Drue Tranquill, Kenny Moore Jakku Resistance: T.J. Edwards, Dee Winters Edge: Jakku Resistance

DBs Big Possum: Xavier McKinney Jakku Resistance: Nick Cross, Chamarri Conner, Andru Phillips Edge: Jakku Resistance

Bottom Line: This is a mismatch, plain and simple. The Resistance is rolling out two of the top five fantasy receivers in the game, while the Possum is just trying to field a full lineup. This could get ugly.

Prediction: Jakku Resistance 140.10, Big Possum Walks Late 84.40

What’s at Stake: Jakku needs this to keep pace with Jager Bombs in the LFC wildcard race.

====================

KingAj86 (3-7) vs. Guinness (1-9)

Storyline: It's the "Battle for the Basement!" KingAj86 lost to Jakku as expected. But the real story is Guinness! They did it! They won a game! And they didn't just win; they put up a league-high 175.94 points! The question is: was it a fluke, or is the keg finally tapped?

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB KingAj86: Joe Flacco Guinness: Spencer Rattler Edge: KingAj86 (You gotta go with "Elite")

RBs KingAj86: Kenneth Gainwell, Cam Skattebo Guinness: Rhamondre Stevenson, Javonte Williams Edge: Guinness

WRs KingAj86: Darnell Mooney, Romeo Doubs Guinness: Sterling Shepard, Rashid Shaheed, Jaylin Noel Edge: Guinness (Shaheed is a home-run threat)

TE KingAj86: David Njoku, Jake Ferguson Guinness: Theo Johnson Edge: KingAj86

DL KingAj86: Sebastian Joseph, Ed Oliver Guinness: Jonathan Greenard Edge: Guinness (Greenard had 17.50 points last week!)

LBs KingAj86: Leo Chenal Guinness: Nick Bolton, Jamien Sherwood Edge: Guinness

DBs KingAj86: Josh Metellus, Brandon Stephens, Jaylen Watson Guinness: Kevin Byard, Cooper DeJean, Xavier Watts Edge: Guinness

Bottom Line: Can it be? Is Guinness... better? After their Week 7 explosion, they come into this matchup with the stronger IDP corps and more dynamic skill players. We're saying... winning streak!

Prediction: Guinness 114.30, KingAj86 96.70

What’s at Stake: Bragging rights, and avoiding the first overall pick in next year's draft.

====================

The Process (2-8) vs. Double Sluggo (9-1)

Storyline: This is David vs. Goliath, if Goliath was driving a monster truck. The league-leading Sluggo (159.49 points last week) takes on the 2-8 Process, who just lost to JoeStradamus.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB The Process: Justin Fields Double Sluggo: Dak Prescott Edge: Double Sluggo

RBs The Process: Tyler Allgeier Double Sluggo: Josh Jacobs, Bijan Robinson Edge: Double Sluggo (HEAVILY)

WRs The Process: Chris Olave, Zay Flowers, Emeka Egbuka Double Sluggo: D.K. Metcalf, Justin Jefferson, Michael Pittman Jr. Edge: Double Sluggo (HEAVILY)

TE The Process: Juwan Johnson, Pat Freiermuth Double Sluggo: T.J. Hockenson Edge: Double Sluggo

DL The Process: Carl Granderson, YaYa Diaby Double Sluggo: DeForest Buckner, Myles Garrett Edge: Double Sluggo

LBs The Process: Demario Davis, Alex Singleton, Edgerrin Cooper Double Sluggo: Pete Werner, Quay Walker, Cedric Gray Edge: The Process (The one bright spot for TP)

DBs The Process: Keisean Nixon Double Sluggo: Antoine Winfield Jr. Edge: Double Sluggo

Bottom Line: The Process has an elite LB corps. Sluggo has an elite... everything else. This is the #1 team for a reason, and they're just on another level.

Prediction: Double Sluggo 152.80, The Process 103.50

What’s at Stake: Sluggo is on a collision course with the #1 seed. The Process is on a collision course with a high draft pick.

====================

Ozarks (5-5) vs. JoeStradamus (5-5)

Storyline: This is the "Byemageddon Bowl!" Both 5-5 teams are fighting for their playoff lives. Ozarks is trying to wash away the shame of losing to Guinness, while JoeStradamus is feeling good after a 148.97-point outburst. The winner moves to 6-5; the loser is in serious trouble.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB Ozarks: Jordan Love JoeStradamus: Kirk Cousins Edge: Push

RBs Ozarks: Saquon Barkley, James Cook JoeStradamus: Alvin Kamara, TreVeyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins Edge: Ozarks (Barkley and Cook are a top-tier duo)

WRs Ozarks: Stefon Diggs, Alec Pierce, Troy Franklin JoeStradamus: Jauan Jennings, Tez Johnson Edge: Ozarks (Joe is starting backups; Ozarks has Stefon Diggs)

TE Ozarks: George Kittle JoeStradamus: Hunter Henry Edge: Ozarks

DL Ozarks: Joey Bosa, Zach Sieler JoeStradamus: A'Shawn Robinson Edge: Ozarks

LBs Ozarks: Tyrel Dodson, SirVocea Dennis, Demetrius Knight Jr. JoeStradamus: Zack Baun, Tatum Bethune, Barrett Carter Edge: Ozarks

DBs Ozarks: Grant Delpit JoeStradamus: DeShon Elliott, Tykee Smith Edge: JoeStradamus

Bottom Line: JoeStradamus is gutted by the bye week, losing Stafford, Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, and Tyler Higbee. Ozarks, on the other hand, has its whole starting offense intact. This one won't be close.

Prediction: Ozarks 124.70, JoeStradamus 88.10

What’s at Stake: This is a must-win for both teams. The winner has the inside track for a wildcard spot, while the loser faces a brutal climb back.

====================

Rockin Squatches (5-5) vs. Grave Diggers (3-7)

Storyline: The Squatches are livid after losing by 0.61 points last week and need to take out their frustration. The Grave Diggers are feeling dangerous after upsetting The Architect and want to prove it wasn't a fluke.

Position-by-Position Breakdown

QB Rockin Squatches: C.J. Stroud Grave Diggers: Patrick Mahomes Edge: Grave Diggers

RBs Rockin Squatches: Jonathan Taylor, Isiah Pacheco Grave Diggers: Derrick Henry Edge: Rockin Squatches (A fantastic 1-2 punch)

WRs Rockin Squatches: Tee Higgins, George Pickens, Jordan Addison Grave Diggers: DeAndre Hopkins, Mack Hollins, Rashee Rice, Jaylin Lane Edge: Rockin Squatches (Much more depth and upside)

TE Rockin Squatches: Dalton Kincaid Grave Diggers: Tyler Warren Edge: Rockin Squatches

DL Rockin Squatches: Jeffery Simmons Grave Diggers: Micah Parsons, Jordan Davis Edge: Grave Diggers (Parsons is a game-wrecker)

LBs Rockin Squatches: Tremaine Edmunds, Cody Barton, Kenneth Murray GGrave Diggers: Logan Wilson Edge: Rockin Squatches

DBs Rockin Squatches: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Brandon Jones Grave Diggers: Derwin James, Talanoa Hufanga, Tyler Nubin Edge: Grave Diggers (That is a filthy DB room)

Bottom Line: This is a great matchup. The Diggers have the edge at QB and on defense with Parsons and that loaded secondary. But the Squatches are too deep at RB and WR. Taylor, Pacheco, Higgins, and Pickens should provide just enough offense to overcome Mahomes.

Prediction: Rockin Squatches 127.70, Grave Diggers 122.30

What’s at Stake: The Squatches cannot afford to lose this and fall below .500. They need this to stay in the thick of the UFC wildcard hunt.
