So draft day will be august 21. Cut to 10 day will be August 14?

Okay,  Okay....lots of votes against the stats nerd....will set drop date one week before draft date.....almost about to lock in the 21st......if any one has conflicts, please voice now!

I like a week before draft. It’s enough time to prepare but also you can wait out injuries camp cuts etc.

I vote for the later cut list.

regarding the cutdown, i like the later version. as you stated, you get to see some of the training camp activities to better gauge who you will keep and what you might do to go get a rookie. i think a week or so should be plenty of time to strategize/trade post cutdown.

I think 3-4 weeks before draft is good. Maybe august 1st.

Okay, six confirmations now with Mr. McLovins response.

Upon thinking about it, I'd like to pose a question that I'd like everyone to consider. Roster cut down day; should we do it earlier (4 to 6 weeks before draft) or later (as proposed, one week before the draft). Let me opine a bit

• Earlier Cut Down Date Scenario -
  • Positives:
    • Allows teams to analyze keepers and available players well in advance of draft
    • Would allow more time for teams to be able to see needs on other squads and  mock out where players are expected to be drafted; would allow more time for teams to facilitate trades and maneuver into picks to address their own needs.
  • Negatives:
    • Likely would occur before some training camp battles are decided
    • Early training camp injuries may happen that could impact rosters
    • Preseason trades could happen
• Late Cut Down Scenario
  • Positives
    • Potentially accounts for camp injuries, preseason trades, and better clarity on team position battles
  • Negatives:
    • Much less time for teams to prepare for draft 
    • Limits teams ability to make pre-draft trades
