NFL roundup: Jets stun Bengals for first win this season

Breece Hall rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns and also tossed the go-ahead 4-yard scoring pass to Mason Taylor with 1:54 left to lift visiting New York Jets to their first win of the season, 39-38 over the shocked Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Justin Fields, who started for the Jets after Tyrod Taylor was ruled out with a knee injury, finished the game 21-of-32 passing for 244 yards.
New York (1-7) moved within 38-32 on Hall's 27-yard touchdown run and an ensuing two-point conversion pass to Isaiah Davis with 7:52 remaining. Just after the two-minute warning, Hall took a pitch from Fields and tossed the ball 4 yards to Taylor in the back corner of the end zone for the go-ahead score.
Joe Flacco hit 21 of 34 passes for 223 yards and two scores for Cincinnati. Chase Brown ran for a score and caught a touchdown pass while Samaje Perine added 94 yards on nine carries for the Bengals (3-5), who blew a 38-24 lead with 10:21 left in the game. Ja'Marr Chase had 12 receptions for 91 yards.
Dolphins 34, Falcons 10
Tua Tagovailoa completed 20 of 26 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns, leading visiting Miami to a victory over a depleted Atlanta team.
Jaylen Waddle had five catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, Malik Washington had four receptions for 36 yards and a score and De'Von Achane ran for 67 yards and hauled in a 3-yard touchdown pass for the Dolphins (2-6), who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Playing for the injured starter Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta's Kirk Cousins completed 21 of 31 passes for 173 yards. Kyle Pitts had nine catches for 59 yards for the Falcons (3-4), who took their second straight loss.
Patriots 32, Browns 13
Drake Maye passed for three touchdowns as New England extended its winning streak to five games by beating Cleveland in Foxborough, Mass.
Maye completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 282 yards and was intercepted once for the Patriots (6-2). Each of his three TD passes came in the third quarter, going to tight end Hunter Henry and receivers Stefon Diggs and Kayshon Boutte. Mack Hollins led all New England receivers with 89 yards on seven receptions.
Browns defensive end Myles Garrett recorded a franchise-record five sacks in the loss and set the NFL record for career sacks by a player under the age of 30. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel was 21 of 35 for 156 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for Cleveland (2-6).
Eagles 38, Giants 20
Saquon Barkley bolted for a 65-yard touchdown run on the game's second play to spark Philadelphia's win against visiting New York to avenge its Week 6 loss.
Barkley also caught a touchdown and rushed for 150 yards -- his first 100-yard game of the season -- and Jalen Hurts threw four touchdown passes to reach 100 for his career for the NFC East-leading Eagles (6-2).
Jaxson Dart finished with 193 yards and a TD on 14-of-24 passing and a 2-yard TD run for the Giants (2-6), who lost running back Cam Skattebo to a dislocated right ankle after he caught a first-quarter touchdown pass.
Ravens 30, Bears 16
Derrick Henry rushed for two touchdowns to move into fifth place on the all-time list and Baltimore snapped a four-game slide with a victory over visiting Chicago.
Tyler Huntley completed 17 of 22 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown and added 53 rushing yards in his first start of the season for the Ravens (2-5). Huntley started in place of Lamar Jackson (hamstring), who missed his third straight game. Nate Wiggins had an interception that set up a touchdown catch by Charlie Kolar that provided Baltimore some fourth-quarter insurance.
Caleb Williams completed 25 of 38 passes for 285 yards and one interception for the Bears (4-3), who had their four-game winning streak snapped. D'Andre Swift rushed for a touchdown and Rome Odunze had seven receptions for 114 yards.
Bills 40, Panthers 9
James Cook rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns as Buffalo won for the first time in nearly a month, rolling past Carolina in Charlotte.
Cook's yards came on 19 carries, with a long of 64 yards for the game's first touchdown. He added a 21-yard scoring run in the third quarter. Josh Allen threw for a touchdown and ran for two more as the Bills (5-2) never trailed and improved to 9-0 when coming off an open date since 2017.
The Panthers (4-4) had a three-game winning streak snapped as quarterback Andy Dalton made his first start of the season in place of injured Bryce Young. Dalton, who completed 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards, lost two fumbles and was intercepted once.
Texans 26, 49ers 15
C.J. Stroud threw for a season-high 318 yards and two touchdowns as host Houston never trailed against San Francisco to win its third game in four tries.
Stroud completed 30 of 39 passes for his first 300-yard effort since Week 5 last season. Xavier Hutchinson and Jayden Higgins caught touchdown strikes for the Texans (3-4) while Woody Marks rushed 11 times for 62 yards. Ka'imi Fairbairn converted all four field goals he attempted.
Mac Jones filled in again for Brock Purdy (toe) and hit 19 of 32 passes for 193 yards and two scores for the 49ers (5-3). George Kittle and Jack Tonges grabbed touchdown passes while Christian McCaffrey was limited to eight carries for 25 yards and three catches for 43 yards.
Buccaneers 23, Saints 3
Anthony Nelson returned an interception for a touchdown and the Tampa Bay defense forced three more turnovers in a victory over host New Orleans.
Nelson intercepted a Spencer Rattler pass and returned the ball 3 yards for the game's first points in the second quarter, and the Buccaneers (6-2) never relinquished the lead. Baker Mayfield completed 15 of 24 passes for just 152 yards, but that was good enough thanks to the Tampa Bay defense and kicker Chase McLaughlin (three FGs).
Rattler, who also lost a fumble to give him six turnovers in two games, completed 15 of 21 for 136 yards as the Saints (1-7) lost their third straight. Rookie second-round draft choice Tyler Shough replaced Rattler in the third quarter and completed 17 of 30 passes for 128 yards with an interception.
Colts 38, Titans 14
Daniel Jones threw for three touchdowns and Jonathan Taylor scored three as host Indianapolis rolled over Tennessee to push its record to an NFL-best 7-1.
Jones connected on 21 of 29 passes for 272 yards as the Colts never trailed. He hit Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs and Taylor for scores while Taylor added 153 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, including an 80-yard sprint on the Colts' first play of the third quarter to make it 24-7.
Cam Ward hit 22 of 38 passes for 259 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Titans (1-7). Ward found Gunnar Helm for a 1-yard score in the second quarter while Tyjae Spears (59 yards) added a 3-yard scoring jaunt late in the fourth.
Broncos 44, Cowboys 24
Bo Nix completed 19 of 29 passes for 247 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, and host Denver cruised past Dallas.
RJ Harvey had two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown for the Broncos (6-2), who won their fifth game in a row. Troy Franklin had six catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Dak Prescott completed 19 of 31 passes for 188 yards and two interceptions for the Cowboys (3-4-1). Javonte Williams rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns against his former team.

Starts, Sits, Sleepers: Week 8
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 29 of his 37 pass attempts for 360 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay got out to a bit of a slow start on primetime television, but the Packers ultimately outscored the Steelers 28-9 in the second half to pull off a two-possession victory. Love showcased a great rapport with tight end Tucker Kraft, as the two connected for seven completions, 143 yards, and a pair of touchdowns. The 26-year-old now ranks 13th among quarterbacks in fantasy points per game. He is a top-12 fantasy option heading into a favorable Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught five of his six targets for 99 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He led the way as Miami pulled off an improbable upset victory on the road. Waddle has now tallied at least 95 receiving yards in three of his last four games, and he has a touchdown in two of those four contests. As much as the Dolphins' offense has struggled this year, Waddle has been able to maintain fantasy relevance, especially after Tyreek Hill (knee) went down. He is now the overall WR13 in PPR leagues this season, and he should remain a fantasy-relevant receiver regardless of whether Miami has the lead or is playing from behind. He could feast again next week against the Baltimore Ravens, who just surrendered seven catches and 114 yards to Rome Odunze. Waddle remains a solid WR2 option heading into Week 9.

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft caught seven of his nine targets for 143 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. His two scores came from 16 and 24 yards out, respectively, but perhaps his best play of the game was a 59-yard reception in the third quarter. The 24-year-old was a main reason why the Packers were able to erase a 16-7 deficit and come back to win 35-25. After a highly successful showing on National Tight Ends' Day, Kraft now ranks as the overall TE2 in PPR leagues through eight weeks -- and he ranks first in terms of fantasy points per game. He should be started in all leagues ahead of next week's matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields completed 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 244 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also rushed for 31 yards on 11 rushing attempts. Fields bounced back in a big way after his Week 7 benching, extending his streak of starts without an interception to 10. The mobile quarterback still remains on a relatively short leash with Tyrod Taylor (knee) available to take over at any time. However, for the time being, it seems Fields has saved his job. He should remain the starter when the Jets return from their bye to face the Browns in Week 10.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud completed 30 of his 39 pass attempts for 319 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 8 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He also rushed for 30 yards on seven rushing attempts. Outside of the one turnover, Stroud had a very strong performance, setting a new season-high in passing yards while leading Houston to a victory at home. The 24-year-old has been playing better lately, amassing nine touchdowns and two turnovers over his last four games. He ranks as the overall QB9 in fantasy points per game during that span. Managers should be generally optimistic about Stroud going forward, but he might rank outside the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks in Week 9 against a Broncos defense that just dismantled Dak Prescott.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones completed 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 272 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 8 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also took three sacks along the way. Jones' career resurgence in Indianapolis continues, as he now has 17 total touchdowns and just three turnovers in 2025. The 28-year-old ranks as the overall QB6 in fantasy football, showcasing an impressive blend of passing talent and mobility. He should remain a must-start fantasy quarterback heading into next week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just surrendered 360 yards and three touchdowns to Jordan Love.

Dynasty | Panthers running back Rico Dowdle had 54 rushing yards in a loss to the Bills. Dynasty Analysis: The return of Chuba Hubbard (34 yards on 12 carries) and negative game scripts have completed zapped the weekly potential of Dowdle. However, he's still been more effective than Hubbard each week and it's hard to imagine the Panthers continuing to give Hubbard more opportunities moving forward. Regardless, Dowdle remains a trade candidate for non-contenders who hope he lands a contract with a team as a starter next season.
Dynasty | Panthers receiver Tetairoa McMillan had a career-high seven catches for 99 yards in a loss to the Bills. Dynasty Analysis: McMillan had six more targets (ten total) and has clearly established himself as the WR1 on the team through the first half of the season. While he has yet to truly have a dominant fantasy performance, it seems that's just a matter of time. McMillan's ADP is stable as he has clearly established himself as a player with a high floor moving forward. Today's catch total was a career high and that seems unlikely to stand for long.
Dynasty | Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had 150 rushing yards, four catches, 24 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in a win against the Giants. Dynasty Analysis: Barkley finally broke out against his former team, highlighted by a 65-yard touchdown on his first carry. The day was great (and much needed) but he was also forced from the game with a groin injury. The Eagles are on a much-needed bye next week, so we'll have to monitor the situation as we move forward. Regardless, this was a good step in the right direction for Barkley, who has been stuck in mud for most of the year. His ADP slide will stop for at least a couple of weeks.
Dynasty | Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 14-of-24 passes for 193 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a loss to the Eagles. Dynasty Analysis: His rookie season is clearly going to be remembered more for what could have been instead of what will be as he's now lost both Malik Nabers and likely Cam Skattebo for the season. Still, Dart has clearly proven to be the quarterback of the present and future in New York and the injuries around him may actually create a bit of a "buy low" window for him in dynasty leagues. In short, he's arrived and not much can change that.
Dynasty | Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel completed 21-of-35 passes for 156 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in a loss to the Patriots. Dynasty Analysis: Gabriel has proven to be about what we thought he was - a decent NFL quarterback. The problem is "decent" NFL quarterbacks don't tend to last long in the league. Gabriel is completing less than 60% of his passes and has only surpassed 200 yards passing in one of his four starts so far. While his performance today won't open the door for another starter, we haven't seen anything to lead us to believe he's the long-term answer for the Browns, either. His ADP and ranking seem secure but neither are very exciting at this point.
Dynasty | Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins had 19 rushing yards, three catches and -2 yards in a loss to the Patriots before exiting with a shoulder injury. Dynasty Analysis: Judkins was basically held in check for most of the game before parting with a little more than eight minutes to go in the third quarter. It was a disappointing day for the impressive rookie but a negative game script killed his chances from the start. Judkins will look to bounce back but he needs to be healthy first. Stay tuned.
Dynasty | Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 18-of-24 passes for 282 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in a win against the Browns. Dynasty Analysis: Maye has the Patriots at 6-2, has thrown for over 2,000 yards and now has 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions on the season. While the coaching change to Mike Vrabel has clearly helped, Maye has taken a monster step forward this year, becoming a top-10 dynasty quarterback in the process. His ADP and ranking continue to rise each week and that won't stop in this one.
Dynasty | Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin had six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown in a blowout loss to the Patriots. Dynasty Analysis: Fannin has 38 catches for 352 yards and two touchdowns in eight games played, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young tight ends in the game. While we have yet to see a true blow-up performance, Fannin is providing a floor unforeseen as a rookie. The Browns are struggling but Fannin's ADP and ranking continue to rise.
Dynasty | Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had 75 rushing yards in a win against Cleveland. Dynasty Analysis: He also lost a fumble. Henderson had ten carries, which was great. However, you can't really evaluate much from this one as they blew out the Browns 32-13 and just about everyone played in the blowout. We'll see if Henderson can build on this but he's been disappointing overall this season. He remains a high-profile hold in dynasty leagues but his rookie ranking slide should at least take a one-week pause.
Dynasty | Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte had three catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in a win against the Browns. Dynasty Analysis: Don't look now but Boutte has four touchdowns over his past three games and is scoring like a top-ten wide receiver in the process. The problem here is he does seem pretty reliant on the deep balll, making him a more volatile play in dynasty leagues. Still, Drake Maye is playing at an elite level and Boutte is going to be a very popular lineup play moving forward. His arrow is still pointing up.
Dynasty | Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had 153 rushing yards, two catches, 21 receiving yards and three touchdowns in a blowout win against the Titans. Dynasty Analysis: Taylor is this year's fantasy MVP and it isn't really remotely close at the moment. With a whopping 14 touchdowns on the season, Taylor has been a one-man wrecking crew and putting up ridiculous numbers all year. The Titans offered little resistance to Taylor today and he took advantage early and often. We're seeing a player hit his prime at 26 years old and he's essentially untouchable in dynasty leagues at the moment as his value hits its absolute career apex.
Dynasty | Titans rookie receiver Chimere Dike had seven catches on 93 yards in a loss to the Colts. Dynasty Analysis: With Calvin Ridley banged up, the fourth round rookie has clearly taken advantage with 12 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown over the past two weeks. While this pace is likely unsustainable, he's very much on the radar and worthy of roster consideration in dynasty leagues at this point.
Dynasty | Titans quarterback Cam Ward completed 22-of-38 passes for 259 yards with one touchdown and one interception in a loss to the Colts. Dynasty Analysis: Ward makes some good players here and there but he just isn't quite to the point where he makes a difference in terms of winning games for the Titans. With just five touchdown passes and six interceptions on the season, Ward is just struggling to make the leap to the NFL. The Titans are 1-7 on the year and look like one of the worst teams in the league. With a new Head Coach on the way and little hope shown thus far, Ward will need to perform better to ensure his replacement isn't taken in the NFL Draft this Spring.
Dynasty | Broncos running back RJ Harvey had 46 rushing yards, one catch, five receiving yards and three touchdowns in a win against Dallas. Dynasty Analysis: Harvey was out-touched by JK Dobbins 17-8 but found his way into the end zone three times. It was the best-case scenario for the rookie runner and while he's still clearly playing second fiddle to Dobbins, we can see the talent starting to translate. Harvey remains a good buy-low candidate and his rookie ranking and ADP will surely rise after this week's explosion.
