The New York Jets are high on Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent quarterback Justin Fields, multiple sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Jets love Fields' athleticism, leadership traits, and ability to move the pocket, and they also think his best football is ahead of him. Meanwhile, the Steelers are trying to re-sign one of Fields or veteran Russell Wilson, and it's believed that they prefer to keep the younger Fields over Wilson. The 25-year-old Fields has been inconsistent as a passer in his short time in the NFL, but he makes up for it with his athleticism and was off to a nice start last year before Wilson took over. New York could give Fields a one- or two-year prove-it deal that's loaded with incentives, similar to what the Vikings gave Sam Darnold a year ago. The Jets have the salary cap space to sign Fields, and he has a history with receiver Garrett Wilson (they played together at Ohio State). The Jets could sign Fields and then also take a rookie QB on Day 2 or 3 of the draft.

The Tennessee Titans announced on Friday that they extended the contracts of exclusive-rights free-agent defensive tackle Keondre Coburn and linebacker Otis Reese (ankle). Coburn, 24, played in 15 games (one start) in his first full season with the Titans in 2024 but had only 14 tackles (seven solo). He originally was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round (194th overall) in 2023 out of the University of Texas. Coburn will return to the Titans in 2025 for interior defensive line depth. Reese, 26, played in 13 games (two starts) in 2024 in his second year in Tennessee but ended the year on Injured Reserve due to an ankle injury. In his 13 games played, Reese had 17 tackles (eight solo), his first career interception and a pass breakup. Reese will return to the Titans in 2025 and will primarily be a special-teamer.

Linebacker Lavonte David re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday on a one-year deal worth up to $10 million with $9 million guaranteed, a source tells ESPN's Jenna Laine. David is returning to Tampa for a 14th season in 2025 after he had 122 tackles (76 solo), 5.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, six QB hits, an interception, six pass breakups, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 17 regular-season starts a year ago. The 35-year-old former second-round pick (58th overall) in the 2012 NFL draft out of Nebraska has only made one Pro Bowl in his career but has been a tackling machine, recording 100-plus combined tackles in 11 of his 13 seasons. Since entering the league, he leads the NFL with 1,111 solo tackles and has started all 198 games that he's appeared in for the Bucs. David was the No. 5 fantasy linebacker in 2024 and will once again be in play as a starting linebacker in IDP formats again in 2025.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that teams that have been interested in veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins around the league have been told that the Atlanta Falcons won't move him. Per SI.com's Albert Breer, Cousins asked for and was granted a meeting with owner Arthur Blank on Wednesday to discuss his future, according to sources. The 36-year-old wants to go somewhere where he can start in 2025, but Falcons brass has said they will do what's best for the team at the position. The Falcons have held firm on their stance that they are comfortable keeping Cousins as the most expensive backup in the league this year after he threw 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 2024 and was benched in favor of first-rounder Michael Penix Jr. It's hard to envision Cousins sticking around as a backup after signing a four-year, $180 million deal last year. He could request a trade after April's draft. Stay tuned.

The Los Angeles Chargers have informed veteran running back Gus Edwards that he will be released in the coming days, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Edwards appeared in just 11 games in 2024, his only season with the Chargers, rushing for 365 yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries. With Edwards now a free-agent, the Chargers could have an entirely revamped backfield in 2025 with J.K. Dobbins also an unrestricted free-agent. There is a good chance the Chargers target a running back in the 2025 NFL draft in what is shaping up as a loaded class at the position. Edwards will now look to latch on with another team as an early-down and short-yardage grinder.

The Seattle Seahawks traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 2025 third-round pick on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Smith will be reunited with his former head coach Pete Carroll as the Raiders look to finally solve their hole at the quarterback position. According to the Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Seahawks are now looking to sign Sam Darnold to replace Smith under center in Seattle. Smith, who succeeded Russell Wilson as the Seahawks' quarterback, threw 71 touchdowns and 35 interceptions in his three years starting under center for Seattle. His arrival in Las Vegas can be considered an upgrade for all of the Raiders' pass-catchers heading into the 2025 season.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins makes the most sense for the Cleveland Browns to pursue this offseason, assuming the Falcons aren't serious about making him the most expensive backup in the league and eventually cut him, according to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt. The main reason it makes sense is that head coach Kevin Stefanski was Cousins' QBs coach and offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings for a couple years. Cousins was benched in favor of rookie Michael Penix Jr. in 2024 after throwing 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, but it was his first year coming off an Achilles tear. The 36-year-old is in decline but would make for a perfect, cheap bridge signal-caller if the Browns take Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders with the No. 2 overall pick, or if they wait and take someone like Jalen Milroe later in the draft.

The Minnesota Vikings would like to re-sign impending free-agent cornerback Byron Murphy, but FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz reports that he's poised to hit the open market on Monday when the legal tampering window opens, according to sources. Murphy is expected to have a strong market after coming off a Pro Bowl season in 2024 in which he recorded a career-high 81 tackles (62 solo), six tackles for loss, a career-high six interceptions, 14 pass breakups and a forced fumble in 17 regular-season starts for Minnesota. The 27-year-old has nine total interceptions in the last two seasons. The Vikings couldn't use the franchise tag on Murphy in order to retain him after pushing the void date on his contract back to the start of the new league year on March 12. The former second-rounder of the Cardinals in 2019 out of Washington has 367 career tackles (289 solo) and 14 interceptions in six seasons in the NFL.

Former Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris is visiting with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Robertson-Harris landed on the open market earlier this week when the Seahawks released him on Tuesday. The 31-year-old veteran is now free to sign with any team. Seattle acquired him midway through last season in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he finished with 13 tackles (five solo) in 11 games with the Seahawks. The former undrafted free agent made his NFL debut in 2017 with the Chicago Bears and spent the first four years of his career in the Windy City before joining the Jaguars. In his eight years in the NFL, Robertson-Harris has 211 tackles (122 solo), 19 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, 67 QB hits, 14 pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 117 games (62 solo). The Cardinals were among the worst teams in terms of pass rush in 2024.

Veteran wide receiver Michael Gallup, whom the Las Vegas Raiders released from the Reserve/Retired list on Friday, is looking to return to the NFL in 2025, a source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gallup caught 266 passes in 86 career games with the Dallas Cowboys before signing with the Raiders a year ago. The 29-year-old announced his retirement last July right after training camp started. The former third-round pick (81st overall) by Dallas in 2018 out of Colorado State had a 1,000-yard season with six touchdowns for the Cowboys in his second year in the league in 2019 but never came close to those heights again and didn't exceed 500 receiving yards in his last three seasons in Dallas. Gallup could latch on with a team this offseason as an experienced role player, but he'll probably be fighting an uphill battle for any kind of serious fantasy relevance if he gets picked up.

The Arizona Cardinals have inquired about Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson, a source told PHNX Sports' Johnny Venerable. Hendrickson still has one year left on his current deal with the Bengals, but last year's NFL sack leader wants a new deal. The Bengals gave the 30-year-old veteran permission to seek a trade this week, and plenty of teams figure to be interested. In addition to Arizona, the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons are expected to have interest in the All-Pro pass-rusher this offseason. The Cardinals make a lot of sense, as their defense ranked 15th in the league in sacks per game. Wherever Hendrickson is playing in 2025, he'll be one of the first players taken in IDP fantasy drafts. The former third-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2017 out of Florida Atlantic has made the Pro Bowl each of the last four seasons and has 17.5 sacks in each of the last two years.

The Tennessee Titans released pass-rusher Harold Landry III on Friday, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Titans signed Landry to a five-year, $87 million contract in 2022 but will release the outside linebacker this offseason to save $10.9 million against the 2025 salary cap. That figure will increase to $17.5 million if the team designates him as a post-June 1 cut. The 28-year-old led Tennessee's defense in 2024 with nine sacks and also had 15 tackles for loss and 15 QB hits in his 17 starts. He has three straight years with at least nine sacks, including a career-high 12 in 2021, so he will receive plenty of interest on the open market. Landry's 83.1 percent of the defensive snaps played led the team's linebacking corps. He was given permission to seek a trade at last week's NFL Combine, but nothing materialized.

The Seattle Seahawks aren't closing the door on a potential reunion with veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who they released for salary cap saving purposes this week. "Go out and see what's shaking (on the market), and we'll stay in touch," general manager John Schneider said he told Lockett. However, Schneider expects Lockett to draw significant interest on the free-agent market because he's a leader and "still a productive player." Seattle could be more inclined to re-sign Lockett if they end up trading DK Metcalf before the NFL draft in April. The 32-year-old Lockett was the odd-man out in the passing attack in 2024 behind Metcalf and second-year man Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who was the team's leading receiver. Lockett had just 49 catches for 600 yards and two TDs on 72 targets, but it's not impossible that he could bounce back in 2025 in a better situation.

The Houston Texans did a simple restructure on linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair's three-year, $34 million contract to clear $6.26 million on this year's salary cap, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Al-Shaair's deal included an $11 million signing bonus and $21.5 million in total guarantees. His scheduled $9 million base salary for the upcoming season was lowered to create more financial flexibility this offseason for the defending AFC South champions. Al-Shaair also has automatically voidable years in 2027 and 2028 of $15 million annually. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Washington Commanders informed two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen on Friday that he is being released, according to sources. Allen will hit the free-agent market a bit early and will immediately become one of the top interior defensive linemen available. This move doesn't come as much of a surprise, especially after the Commanders gave the 30-year-old veteran permission to seek a trade last week. The former 17th overall pick by Washington in 2017 out of Alabama was entering the final year of his deal with a $15.5 million base salary and no more guaranteed money. The move to cut Allen saves the Commanders $16.3 million in 2025 salary cap space. Allen missed nine games with a torn left pectoral muscle last year but played the final two regular-season games and all three playoff games. He finishes his eight-year career in D.C. with 42 sacks in 108 starts.

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed tight end Tanner Hudson to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday, according to The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov. In his second year with the Bengals in 2024, Hudson regressed and had only 19 receptions on 23 targets for 154 yards and one touchdown in 11 games while Mike Gesicki was the team's third leading receiver behind wideouts Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The 30-year-old missed six weeks with two knee injuries last year, which also didn't help his cause. However, if the Bengals fail to re-sign Mike Gesicki this offseason, Hudson could be primed to be the team's top pass-catching tight end in 2025. Without Gesicki around in 2023, Hudson had the best season of his career, but it only yielded 39 catches for 352 yards and one touchdown on 50 targets in 12 games (one start).

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is prepared to miss games if he's not traded this offseason. Garrett has expressed his desire to be moved, but met with resistance from ownership. The superstar pass rusher reportedly asked for a meeting with owner Jimmy Haslam, but Haslam declined to speak with Garrett. At this point, a split between the two sides seems like the most likely outcome. Garrett wants to play for a contender and a new hefty contract extension probably won't be enough for Garrett to want to stay in Cleveland. However, the Browns are reluctant to trade Garrett, so this situation might play out for some time.

Dynasty | The Raiders have released quarterback Gardner Minshew. Dynasty Analysis: Kudos to the Raiders for trying to make it work with the likes of Minshew and Aidan O'Connell last season, but it predictably fell apart pretty quickly. Minshew threw for just over 2,000 yards with nine touchdowns and ten interceptions in ten games last season, proving yet again his ability to give an offense a spark in a pinch, but not really be a player to build around. At this point, his dynasty value is next to nothing and he belongs on waiver wires.

Dynasty | The Seahawks have released wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Dynasty Analysis: Seattle had to move on from the ten year veteran due to salary cap purposes. He ends his long Seahawks tenure with 661 catches for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns. He was the poster child for what a WR2 should look like for a team and has been a valuable dynasty contributor over the past decade. Unfortunately, the rise of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and salary cap issues have made him expendable. His 49/600/2 season was a big disappointment, but he should have a good market and is still dynasty roster worthy.
