Giants agree to $30M deal with CB Paulson Adebo

Mon Mar 10 2:22pm ET
Field Level Media

The New York Giants agreed to a deal with unrestricted free agent cornerback Paulson Adebo, according to multiple reports Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but reports pegged the value of the three-year deal at $30 million.

The move helps fill one of the Giants' biggest offseason needs, finding someone to start alongside 2023 first-round pick Deonte Banks.

Adebo, 25, played four seasons with the New Orleans Saints but arrives with questions.

He missed the last 10 games of last season after undergoing surgery to repair a broken right femur suffered during a home loss to the Denver Broncos in October. Adebo said at the end of the season that he expects to be ready for training camp and recently posted a training video showing his progress, complete with sticking the landing on a backflip.

Adebo had three interceptions, 10 passes defensed and 52 tackles in seven starts on the season.

He has 254 tackles and 10 picks in 52 games (51 starts) since New Orleans drafted him in the third round in 2021.

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with former Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov. Rodgers was suspended by the NFL for violating the league's policy on gambling in 2023 and missed the entire season. He was released by the Colts following the punishment handed down by the NFL. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles last year and played in 15 games (three starts). Overall, the UMass product has totaled 116 tackles, three interceptions, and 14 pass deflections in 45 career games. He'll now play under top NFL defensive coordinator Brian Flores in Minnesota.

Former New York Jets and pending free-agent cornerback D.J. Reed is expected to sign a three-year, $48 million deal with the Detroit Lions when the new league year begins on March 12. Reed has been a standout defensive back for New York since signing with the team in 2022. The former fifth-round pick out of Kansas State in 2018 has totaled 414 tackles (326 solo), two sacks, four forced fumbles, six interceptions, and 50 pass deflections in 101 career games. The Lions just lost cornerback Carlton Davis III to the New England Patriots in free agency, so Reed will replace him opposite 2024 first-round pick Terrion Arnold in 2025 under new defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard.

Justin Fields Mar 10 1:40pm ET
Justin Fields

The New York Jets are viewed as the top candidate to sign free-agent quarterback Justin Fields, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. No deal has been reached yet, but league sources believe he will ultimately land with New York. Fields spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and threw for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in 10 game appearances. Fields started the team's first six games before being benched for veteran signal-caller Russell Wilson. However, the former first-round pick out of Ohio State could get another starting opportunity based on his resume in his first four NFL campaigns. Overall, Fields has racked up 7,780 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns, 31 interceptions, 2,509 rushing yards, and 19 rushing touchdowns in 50 career games. He is one of the best rushing quarterbacks in the NFL, but he would likely not be an ideal quarterback for Garrett Wilson's fantasy football production. UPDATE: Fields continues to talk with the Steelers, but he will not re-sign in Pittsburgh unless they commit to him as their starter.

Former New Orleans Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo has agreed to terms with the New York Giants, according to ESPN. Adebo was originally a third-round pick by New Orleans out of Stanford in 2021 and has compiled 254 tackles (209 solo), two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 10 interceptions, and 43 pass deflections in 62 career games. The 25-year-old was limited to just seven games last season. Adebo joins a G-Men defense led by defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Dan Moore agreed to a four-year, $82 million contract with the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The deal includes $50 million guaranteed and $30 million in Year 1. Moore was a fourth-round pick by Pittsburgh in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M and has started in 66 career games. The 26-year-old has started at both right and left tackle, but 2024 first-round pick J.C. Latham played right tackle at Alabama before starting at left tackle in his rookie campaign, so it remains to be seen where each player will suit up to begin the 2025 season. This signing should provide a boost for Tony Pollard and whoever starts at QB in Nashville moving forward.

The Carolina Panthers are finalizing a deal to sign former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams, according to ESPN. The 2021 third-round pick out of Louisiana Tech registered 24 tackles (11 solo), five sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection in 17 games for Philly last season and was viewed as one of the top defensive linemen on the free-agent market. Carolina's defense ranked last in the NFL last season in total yards per game (404.5), so the organization is emphasizing upgrading that side of the ball ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Baker Mayfield Mar 10 1:13pm ET
Baker Mayfield

Dynasty | The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed wide receiver Chris Godwin. Dynasty Analysis: It's reportedly a three-year deal worth $66 million. This will keep Godwin in pewter through his age-32 season and keeps the duo of Mike Evans and Godwin together for the best parts of their careers. It's a big deal for Tampa Bay as losing Godwin would have been catastrophic. While he's still recovering from an early season injury, he should be back by training camp and his 50/576/5 line last year showed he's still an elite option. This is big news for Baker Mayfield as well since he'll have the band back together again for an offense that was borderline explosive at times last year. Godwin's ADP will remain stable with the move.

Isiah Pacheco Mar 10 1:13pm ET
Isiah Pacheco

Dynasty | The Chiefs have signed running back Elijah Mitchell, formerly of the 49ers. Dynasty Analysis: Ok, then. This is actually interesting. The Chiefs have Isiah Pacheco as their lead back, but Kareem Hunt is a free agent and Mitchell could be his replacement. We've seen him perform well in similar offensive systems and could be a serious weapon should Pacheco be injured again and if the Chiefs fail to add much else to the roster. While not a priority on dynasty rosters at the moment, Mitchell is a player to keep tabs on through the rest of free agency and the draft. If he's the backup in Kansas City, you could really have something here again.

Jimmy Garoppolo Mar 10 1:13pm ET
Jimmy Garoppolo

Dynasty | The Rams have re-signed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Dynasty Analysis: He gets a one-year deal worth $11 million to be on the sidelines with the Rams hoping he never plays. This is a contract we'd all want to have, but Jimmy G has somehow made it happen. It's clear the Rams are in "win now" mode and Garoppolo would keep the ship afloat should something happen to Matthew Stafford. While he has some obvious appeal in Superflex leagues, he really isn't roster worthy at this point in traditional leagues, especially now that we now he won't be a starter.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Jimmy Garoppolo Mar 10 1:10pm ET
Jimmy Garoppolo

Free-agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is signing back with the Los Angeles Rams on a one-year deal, according to ESPN. The 33-year-old signed with Los Angeles last offseason to back up Matthew Stafford and will return in that role for the 2025 campaign. Garoppolo has thrown for 15,828 yards, 96 touchdowns, and 52 interceptions in 82 career games with the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Rams. He appeared in one game last season, posting 334 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. While Jimmy G won't see significant playing time barring a Stafford injury, he's worth stashing in deeper Superflex or two-QB formats. If Stafford has to miss any time next season, Garoppolo would be throwing to Puka Nacua and Davante Adams and could have low-end QB1 upside.

Davon Godchaux Mar 10 1:00pm ET
Davon Godchaux

The New Orleans Saints acquired defensive tackle Davon Godchaux from the New England Patriots on Monday in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in 2026, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Godchaux was a starter for four seasons in New England and will now head to the NFC South. He's a Plaquemine, Louisiana native and LSU product and will be heading home. The 30-year-old veteran has one year remaining on the two-year, $18 million extension he signed with the Patriots last offseason. More than anything, Godchaux brings durability in the trenches, as he hasn't missed a game since 2020. He also has 60-plus tackles on the interior defensive line in three of his last four seasons. The former fifth-rounder of the Miami Dolphins in 2017 will help shore up the Saints' run defense in new head coach Kellen Moore's first year running the team.
