Bears acquire DE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka from Browns

Tue Nov 4 2:01pm ET
Field Level Media

The Chicago Bears are acquiring defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the same draft, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

The reported move comes two days after Bears defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo sustained a season-ending Achilles injury in their 47-42 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tryon-Shoyinka, 26, signed a one-year contract with Cleveland after spending his first four seasons with Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers used the 32nd overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft on Tryon-Shoyinka, who had 138 tackles, 15 sacks and two forced fumbles in 66 career games (45 starts) with the team.

Tryon-Shoyinka has nine tackles without registering a sack in eight games (no starts) this season with the Browns.

Five Fantasy Takeaways: Week 9

Player Notes
Adonai Mitchell Nov 4 1:20pm CT
Adonai Mitchell

As part of the deal that sent All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Colts, the New York Jets acquired second-year wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, who now finds himself on a less crowded depth chart. While the quarterback situation in New York lacks the surprising stability that Daniel Jones has been able to provide for the Colts, the Jets are in need of secondary options in the passing game. Garrett Wilson (knee) will be returning to practice after missing the last two games, but even with his absence, the Jets do not have another wide receiver on the roster with more than 11 catches on the season. Mitchell has spent time in the dog house while in Indianapolis, but his speed and talent are undeniable, and the former 2nd-round pick is worth a stash in deeper leagues.

Brian Thomas Jr. Nov 4 1:13pm CT
Brian Thomas Jr.

Dynasty | The Raiders have traded wide reciever Jakobi Meyers to the Jaguars. Dynasty Analysis: The Raiders are trading wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jaguars in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round draft picks. There were a number of teams reportedly interesting in Meyers, including the Steelers. In the end, the Jaguars give up some real compensation to land receiver help, especially one on an expiring contract. Meyers should give the Jaguars a boost in the passing game while they await the return of Travis Hunter and possibly Brian Thomas Jr. He could put up WR2 numbers right away should that duo be out for any amount of time together.

Adonai Mitchell

Dynasty | The Jets acquired Adonai Mitchell in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts. Dynasty Analysis: Mitchell was the smallest part of the deal that sends Sauce Gardner to the Colts in exchange for his services and two first round picks. Mitchell was essentially given up on by the Colts after he fumbled away a touchdown by dropping the ball early in the season and barely played after. He should get all the work he can handle with the Jets and could have some sneaky fantasy appeal. In short, his value was next to nothing and has now risen to at least being worthy of a roster spot in dynasty leagues.

Rashid Shaheed Nov 4 1:13pm CT
Rashid Shaheed

Dynasty | Wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks. Dynasty Analysis: A trade of Shaheed almost seemed inevitable as he found himself on a bad team and with an expiring contract. The price tag is real as Seattle sent New Orleans a fourth and fifth round pick, so they may end up attempting to re-sign him. Shaheed should slot in as the deep ball option on a team that's hot, so it's not bad for his short-term value. He still projects more as a "boom or bust" player most weeks but he does have more upside now that he's been reunited with his offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak.

Joe Tryon-Shoyinka Nov 4 12:50pm CT
Joe Tryon-Shoyinka

The Chicago Bears are acquiring defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and a seventh-round draft pick from the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday in exchange for a sixth-rounder, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move to acquire pass-rusher Tryon-Shoyinka was made after the Bears learned that standout defensive end Dayo Odeyington suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The 26-year-old Tryon-Shoyinka, who was the 32nd overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2021 out of the University of Washington, recorded only nine tackles (five solo) in his first eight games with the Browns this year. However, he did have 15 sacks in 66 games (45 starts) in his first four years in the NFL in Tampa. Tryon-Shoyinka should have a bigger role the rest of the year in Chicago.

Mac Jones Nov 4 12:50pm CT
Mac Jones

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones improved his record to 5-2 as a starter after leading the team to a 34-24 win over the New York Giants in Week 9. Jones completed all of his first 14 pass attempts and finished 19-for-24 for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the win. If and when Brock Purdy (toe) is healthy enough to resume playing, Jones will head back to the bench. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has labeled the 49ers as "Brock's team," per the AP's Josh Dubow. Whoever is under center in San Francisco's upcoming meeting with the Rams will put fantasy football managers in a tough spot. Jones diced up Los Angeles in Week 5 for 342 yards and two touchdowns, but in their three games since, the Rams have averaged 204 passing yards allowed and registered 12 sacks and two interceptions.

From RotoBaller

Bijan Robinson Nov 4 12:40pm CT
Bijan Robinson

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson logged just 12 carries for 46 yards in Sunday's 24-23 loss to the Patriots as the teamgot behindearly and all but abandoned the run. However, as has been the case all season, Robinson continued to be heavily involved in the passing attack, drawing 10 targets from quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and turning them into eight catches for 50 yards. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Drake London recorded all three of the team's touchdowns, but Robinson still managed a top 12 finish at running back despite not finding paydirt. Week 8 aside, when London was absent, the 23-year-old is second on the team with 21.1 percent target share, which provides a solid weekly floor. Week 10 brings a matchup with Indianapolis on a neutral field in Germany, a defense that has been tough against the run (although it allowed two rushing TDs this past week), but that has been soft against the pass and is allowing 24.5 points per game on the road (16.6 PPG at home). The former first-round draft pick figures to be involved regardless of game script, so he'll surely be a top option at running back again on Sunday.

Jauan Jennings Nov 4 12:10pm CT
Jauan Jennings

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings brought in his second touchdown of the season in the team's 34-24 win over the New York Giants in Week 9. Jennings caught four of five targets for 41 yards and the score. From a fantasy standpoint, it was his most productive game since Week 2, when he posted a 5-89-1 line against the Saints. Jennings ranked second on the team in targets and yards behind Christian McCaffrey and tied with tight end George Kittle for second (again, behind McCaffrey) in receptions. Jennings' place among the trio as San Francisco's top pass-catchers is secure for the time being. Once Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Brandon Aiyuk (knee) return, he may fall in the pecking order. In Week 10, Jennings projects as a WR3 against a Rams defense that was torched by teammate Kendrick Bourne for 142 yards in Week 5.

Adonai Mitchell Nov 4 12:10pm CT
Adonai Mitchell

The New York Jets are acquiring wide receiver Adonai Mitchell and two first-round picks from the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday in exchange for cornerback Sauce Gardner, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. It's a big haul for the 1-7 Jets on trade-deadline day. Mitchell, a former second-rounder in 2024 out of Texas, was in the Colts' doghouse after dropping a potential 76-yard touchdown pass just before crossing the goal line in Week 4, and now he's headed out of town. The 23-year-old will certainly have a clearer path to playing time in New York, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to take advantage of it and settle in as the Jets' WR2 behind Garrett Wilson (knee) in a passing game that has been one of the worst in the NFL in 2025. Mitchell caught nine of his 16 targets for 152 yards and no scores in eight games for Indy this year after posting a 23-312-0 line in 17 games in his rookie season in 2024.

Sauce Gardner Nov 4 12:00pm CT
Sauce Gardner

The Indianapolis Colts are acquiring cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets on Tuesday, sources tell Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Colts are reportedly sending two first-round picks to the Jets for Gardner. It's a lot to give up, but Gardner, a two-time first-team All-Pro, will help solidify Indy's pass defense as they make a push towards a playoff appearance in 2025. The 25-year-old defensive back was held out of New York's Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but with the bye week to heal up, he will hopefully be ready to make his Colts debut this weekend when they take on the Atlanta Falcons in Germany. The former fourth overall pick in 2022 out of Cincinnati has recorded 20 tackles (15 solo) and six pass breakups in his first seven starts in his fourth NFL season.

From RotoBaller

Rashid Shaheed Nov 4 12:00pm CT
Rashid Shaheed

The Seattle Seahawks are acquiring wide receiver Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, sources tell Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. It's unknown what the Saints are receiving as compensation from the Seahawks. Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been one of the best receivers in the NFL for the Seahawks so far in his second NFL season, but now Seattle will have a legitimate deep threat for rising quarterback Sam Darnold as they push to become a real Super Bowl contender in the second half of the season. Shaheed, 27, had 44 catches on 66 targets for 499 yards and two touchdowns over nine games in New Orleans while working mostly with QB Spencer Rattler. In Seattle, he should have a more stable floor and a higher ceiling in fantasy football in a passing offense that is humming right now. The addition of Shaheed will be bad news for rookie receiver Tory Horton, who caught two touchdowns in the Sunday night win over the Washington Commanders.

Brian Robinson Jr. Nov 4 11:50am CT
Brian Robinson Jr.

San Francisco 49ers running back Brian Robinson Jr. found his way into the end zone early in the fourth quarter of the team's 34-24 win over the New York Giants in Week 9. Robinson was only on the field for nine offensive snaps, but it was easily his most productive game as a 49er. Robinson registered five carries for a season high 53 rushing yards and his score, and also had a 41-yard kickoff return. With Christian McCaffrey carrying the 49ers offense, opportunities for Robinson have been few and far between. Still, Robinson remains a valuable handcuff worth stashing as he would step into a bellcow role if McCaffrey ever does go down. The 49ers next face the Rams, who are allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to running backs. Given his team role and the difficult matchup, fantasy managers adding Robinson via waivers are better off keeping him on the bench in Week 10.

Travis Hunter Nov 4 11:40am CT
Travis Hunter

Despite landing on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury that he suffered in practice last week, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie first-rounder Travis Hunter (knee) is "not expected to be out long-term," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Hunter will be required to miss at least three more games while on IR, but he will be back this year to contribute on offense. With Hunter out and Brian Thomas Jr. coming down with an ankle sprain in the Week 9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the Jaguars acquired pass-catcher Jakobi Meyers from the Raiders on Tuesday. Meyers will give Jacksonville some extra receiver depth with Hunter on IR, while Parker Washington will also see an increased role in the short term. Hunter, 22, had the best game of his young career before the team's Week 8 bye, catching eight of 14 targets for 101 yards and his first NFL touchdown. All signs were pointing toward him having a bigger role on offense in the second half of the year, and fantasy managers will be hoping that's still true when he's activated off IR. Keep Hunter stashed in all fantasy football leagues.

From RotoBaller

Michael Mayer Nov 4 11:40am CT
Michael Mayer

ESPN's Ryan McFadden writes that both Las Vegas Raiders tight ends Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer should see an increase in targets after the team traded receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday. Mayer was targeted seven times and had three catches for 26 yards in Sunday's overtime loss to the Jaguars. The Raiders used 12 personnel (two tight ends) more than any game this season in Week 9. In addition to Bowers and Mayer seeing more targets going forward, Tre Tucker will be the team's unquestioned WR1, with rookies Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton Jr., and veteran Tyler Lockett seeing the field more. Although Mayer was targeted a season-high-tying seven times on Sunday, Bowers still overshadowed him with a monster 12-127-3 line. As long as Bowers remains healthy, Mayer will be a touchdown-dependent TE2 in fantasy.

From RotoBaller

Brian Thomas Jr. Nov 4 11:30am CT
Brian Thomas Jr.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) is dealing with a low-grade high-ankle sprain but has a chance to play in Week 10 versus the division-rival Houston Texans, sources tell Adam Schefter of ESPN. In addition to Thomas' injury, which he suffered in the overtime win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, rookie first-rounder Travis Hunter (knee) is out indefinitely with an injury that he suffered in practice last Thursday. The injuries to their top two receivers spurred Jacksonville to acquire wideout Jakobi Meyers from the Raiders on Tuesday. The 23-year-old Thomas might not have to miss any time, but in addition to his ankle sprain, the second-year pass-catcher won't have a great matchup on tap this weekend if he's active. The former first-rounder was a rookie breakout in 2024, but he's currently in a sophomore slump with a 30-420-1 line through eight games in 2025. With Thomas nursing an ankle injury, Parker Washington should be a priority waiver-wire addition for fantasy managers going into Week 10.

From RotoBaller

Isaiah Davis Nov 4 11:20am CT
Isaiah Davis

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis is currently rostered in only 14% of Yahoo leagues and is the clear backup to starter Breece Hall. However, Hall's name has been heavily mentioned in trade rumors, and there could be a 50-50 chance that he's dealt by Tuesday's 4 p.m. trade deadline. If Hall is shipped out of town, Davis would have a clear path to lead-back duties for the Jets. Fantasy managers looking for upgrades at the RB position who have room to spare on their roster may want to consider adding the 23-year-old off the waiver wire in case Hall is traded on Tuesday. Davis had a season-high seven rushing attempts in the Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, gaining 65 yards while also catching a season-high five passes for 44 yards. Hall had been bothered by a knee injury leading up to that game, but even if Hall isn't traded, Davis' role could expand in his change-of-pace role for the second half of the year.

From RotoBaller

Theo Johnson Nov 4 11:10am CT
Theo Johnson

New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson didn't have an outstanding Week 9 performance in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but he did find the end zone for the fifth time this year in the 34-24 defeat. With fellow tight end Daniel Bellinger out with a neck injury, Johnson caught three of his six targets for 27 yards and the touchdown while playing 86% of the offensive snaps. The 24-year-old has gone over 50 receiving yards just once in nine games in 2025, but fantasy managers can't ignore the fact that Johnson has scored five touchdowns in the last six games. The emergence of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart definitely raises Johnson's ceiling as a TE2 streamer the rest of the way, as well as the fact that top wideout Malik Nabers (knee) is done for the season. Johnson will have low-end TE1 upside going into a plus matchup in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears, especially if Bellinger misses another game.

From RotoBaller

Dalton Schultz Nov 4 11:00am CT
Dalton Schultz

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz hauled in six catches for 77 yards on eight targets in his team's Week 9 loss to the Denver Broncos. While Schultz still has not found the end zone this season, he's quietly provided stable production at the tight end position in recent weeks. The 29-year-old has earned at least six targets and recorded at least five receptions in five out of his last six games. It's worth noting that the Texans may be without quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) in Week 10, but Schultz was still productive in Week 9 after Stroud was forced to exit the game. Schultz has a limited ceiling, but he can provide consistency for fantasy managers at the tight end position. He profiles as a deep-league waiver wire target heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

From RotoBaller

Tyjae Spears Nov 4 11:00am CT
Tyjae Spears

In five games since returning from an ankle injury that held him out to start the 2025 season, Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has recorded 248 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 43 touches. The 24-year-old has been a consistent feature in the Titans' passing game, earning at least four targets and three receptions in each of his last four contests. Spears and veteran back Tony Pollard have been splitting backfield work relatively evenly in Tennessee. However, Pollard's name has been floated on the trade block, and there's a chance the rebuilding Titans move him before Tuesday's trade deadline. Spears could move into must-start territory as a fantasy running back if Pollard is moved. Even if the Titans hold on to Pollard, Spears has flex appeal in the right matchups. In shallow leagues where Spears remains available, he's worth targeting on the waiver wire even as the Titans hit their Week 10 bye.

From RotoBaller

Jakobi Meyers Nov 4 10:50am CT
Jakobi Meyers

The Jacksonville Jaguars are acquiring wide receiver Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round draft picks, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Meyers has recorded 33 receptions for 352 yards and zero touchdowns on 49 targets across seven games for Las Vegas so far this season. He'll provide a much-needed talent infusion to the Jaguars' wide receiver room, which lost Travis Hunter (knee) to Injured Reserve before Week 9 and Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) to an ankle injury during their Week 9 win. Meyers should slot in as either the WR1 or WR2 in Jacksonville, pending the health status of Thomas Jr. Meyers seemingly fell out of favor in recent weeks in Las Vegas, as he has not recorded more than four catches or 39 receiving yards in a game since Week 2. The 28-year-old was vocal about his desire to be traded away from the Raiders, so he may be rejuvenated by a fresh start in Jacksonville.
