Travis Kelce gauging how body feels before deciding future

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce sounded like a man who has more in the tank in respect to his football career during Wednesday's episode of his "New Heights" podcast.
"I've talked to a few people in the facility already, having the exit meetings and everything, and they know where I stand at least right now," Kelce told his brother, Jason. "I think there's a lotta love for the game that's still there and I don't think I'll ever lose that.
"It's a tough thing to navigate, but at the same time, if my body can heal up and rest up and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18-, 20-, 21-week run, I think I would do it in a heartbeat. Right now it's just finding that answer and seeing how the body feels ... and kinda when it all settles down."
When Jason attempted to get the real skinny on his brother's future plans in football, Travis said the decision wasn't finalized yet.
The Chiefs' lackluster 6-11 season ended with a whimper, leading some to wonder if the four-time All-Pro wanted to end his career on that note.
"Every season ends for me, I put my feet up, and I just be a human because I've been putting my body through the wringer for the love of it," Travis Kelce said. "I do enjoy playing football and the physical aspect of it, I think there's something about feeling the wear and tear of the football season to just f---- getting ready for a game knowing that your body is f---- beat down man.
"... But yeah, I think just being a regular human for a couple weeks, maybe a month or so, and trying to figure out what I'm doing to do next in terms of my future in football."
Prior to the season, Travis Kelce admitted that he contemplated retirement. He also said his life has changed in some ways since he began dating the biggest pop star on the planet in Taylor Swift, to whom he is now engaged.
Kelce, 36, last month joined Hall of Famer Jerry Rice as the only players in NFL history with at least 12 consecutive seasons producing at least 800 receiving yards.
Kelce led the team in receptions (76), yards (851) and touchdowns (five, tied with Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown).
The three-time Super Bowl champion and 11-time Pro Bowl selection is the Chiefs' all-time leader in receptions (1,080), receiving yards (13,002) and touchdown receptions (82).

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that tight end Dalton Kincaid (knee) will be limited in the first practice of the week on Wednesday, according to Maddy Glab of BuffaloBills.com. Kincaid played through a questionable tag in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New York Jets, but he ended up playing only 10 snaps and catching three passes for 48 yards with the Bills resting most of their regulars. The 26-year-old missed some time with a hamstring injury late in the year, too, but he's trending towards being a full-go for Wild-Card weekend against the hosting Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Kincaid is one of quarterback Josh Allen's most trusted weapons. He finished second on the team with 571 receiving yards while reaching the end zone a team-high five times in 12 games. Kincaid will be a solid midrange TE1 for those competing in fantasy playoff leagues.

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said on Wednesday that re-signing running back Javonte Williams is at the top of the team's list of offseason priorities, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. "We want to bring him back and sign him to a multiple-year deal," Jones said. It's not the first time the Cowboys have said this after the 25-year-old Williams exceeded expectations in his first year in Dallas in 2025. The former Denver Broncos RB had the first 1,000-yard rushing season of his career, gaining 1,210 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns on the ground on 252 carries over 16 games. Williams added 35 receptions on 51 targets for 137 yards and two more scores to finish as the RB11 in half-PPR scoring. He finished the year on Injured Reserve due to a nagging shoulder injury, but he should be ready in plenty of time for Week 1 of the 2026 season. If he returns to Dallas, Williams should be the clear RB1 option out of the backfield.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that quarterback Josh Allen (foot) will be a full-go at Wednesday's practice, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. Allen took the first snap of the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New York Jets to extend his streak of consecutive starts to 127 regular-season games, and then the Bills pulled him from the game on Sunday. The 29-year-old dealt with a nagging foot injury late in the year, but it's nothing serious and won't keep him from playing in Sunday's Wild-Card playoff game on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Allen finished the regular season as the top overall fantasy QB with 3,668 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 17 games. He added a league-high 579 rushing yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns on the ground to separate himself at the position. Allen has the most fantasy upside at QB for the Wild-Card round.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is optimistic about the team's future based on quarterback Dak Prescott's impressive 2025 season. "I think I've seen Dak at the best he's ever been," Jones said. Prescott certainly had one of the best seasons of his 10-year NFL career, completing 67.3% of his 600 pass attempts for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 17 starts. His 404 completions were a league-high, and he finished as the QB5 in terms of overall fantasy points. The 32-year-old veteran entered Week 18 action with the most passing yards, completions, and pass attempts in the NFL, but he wasn't able to add much to those totals after the Cowboys pulled him in a meaningless game. Dallas' failure to make the postseason this year shouldn't rest on the shoulders of Prescott and the offense. Going into 2026, he'll be a strong QB1 target if the Cowboys bring receiver George Pickens back to work with CeeDee Lamb.

New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said the team will discuss a contract extension for wide receiver Chris Olave this offseason, according to Erin Summers of NFL Network. "Chris is obviously an important player to us and had a really good season... had a couple of conversations with his agent, that will be part of this offseason," Loomis said. Olave didn't play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons due to a blood clot in his lung, but the 25-year-old former first-rounder should be ready to roll for the start of next season as the Saints' clear WR1. Despite missing the last game of the year, Olave was money for fantasy managers in 2025, finishing as the WR6 in half-PPR scoring with 100 catches (156 targets) for 1,163 yards, and nine touchdowns in 16 games. It was a career year for Olave, and he'll be an early-round WR1 target in 2026 fantasy drafts, especially with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough showing plenty of promise in his first season.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Riley Leonard was impressive in his first career start in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Houston Texans, going 39-for-67 passing for 415 yards and two touchdowns, although he did throw three interceptions and lost a fumble. Leonard displayed second- and third-level touch and accuracy from the pocket, which was one of his biggest question marks coming into the NFL. Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan thinks it's unfair to wonder if Leonard can be the next Brock Purdy, but it's realistic to ask if he could be the team's long-term backup behind the oft-injured Daniel Jones (Achilles). Bowen believes Leonard's performance against the top defense in the league in the regular-season finale proves that he should be considered as QB insurance for the Colts if they run it back with Jones in 2026.

New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said that wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk's (shoulder) rehab has gone well and that he's fitting in with the group well, according to Erin Summers of NFL Network. Head coach Kellen Moore said that Polk will "be able to fill a very beneficial role here." The Saints acquired Polk and a seventh-round draft pick in 2028 from the New England Patriots back in September in exchange for a sixth-rounder in 2027. The 23-year-old former second-rounder missed all of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury. Polk struggled in his rookie campaign in 2024, catching 12 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns on 33 targets. He'll have another opportunity to make noise in 2026 behind Chris Olave, making him one to watch in training camp and the preseason in deeper fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Spin: The Jacksonville Jaguars are a tough matchup for opposing QBs, surrendering three TDs to nine INTs over the last five weeks. Allen remains one of the best quarterback options in playoff pools, though, and is a must-start.

The Baltimore Ravens surprisingly fired long-time head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons at the helm on Tuesday, and they are looking for a new head coach who will "reach and "invigorate" quarterback Lamar Jackson, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Baltimore wants to find someone who can get the "absolute most" out of Jackson going forward. The two-time MVP QB seemed disinterested during the 2025 season, but he also missed a few games with a hamstring injury and was constantly listed on the injury report with nagging lower-body injuries. The 28-year-old dual-threat QB also missed a game late in the year with a back contusion. There were reports of a rift between Jackson and Harbaugh this year, and there were even rumors that Jackson could be traded in the offseason. With Harbaugh now out in Baltimore, it appears that the Ravens are moving forward with the plan to keep Jackson as the face of the franchise.

The Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday that they placed defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (ankle) on Injured Reserve. Phillips returned in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New York Jets on Sunday after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury. The 33-year-old veteran apparently aggravated his ankle injury and now won't be available at all for the Bills' defensive line during the postseason. It's a hit to Buffalo's interior defensive line depth the rest of the way. Phillips, a former second-round pick in 2015 out of Oklahoma, had just nine tackles (five solo) and one sack in his 11 games played for the Bills during the 2025 season. The Bills' defense/special teams unit will be a middle-of-the-pack option for those in fantasy playoff leagues while going up against a surging Jaguars offense in the Wild-Card round this Sunday.

When asked if Tyler Shough is the team's starting quarterback going forward in 2026, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said, "Yeah, we feel great about Tyler." Shough continued to get better in his first NFL season and went 23-for-35 passing for 259 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the regular-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons, adding 34 rushing yards and another score on the ground. The 26-year-old second-rounder out of Louisville completed 67.6% of his 327 pass attempts in 11 games played (nine starts) for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Shough added 45 carries for another 186 rushing yards and three touchdowns. At the very least, Shough cemented himself as New Orleans' starting QB going into the 2026 season, and he should profile as a solid QB2 in superflex leagues and a nice backup with upside in single-QB formats.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that cornerback/wide receiver Bo Melton (knee) will be placed on Injured Reserve and won't be available in the playoffs, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Melton doesn't have a torn ACL, but it will take him too long to recover from the knee injury that he suffered in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. The 26-year-old was mostly a contributor on special teams for the Packers in 2025, as he caught just four passes on offense for 107 yards and one touchdown on 13 targets over 16 games (one start). In his three NFL seasons with the Packers, Melton has only 28 catches on 54 targets for 416 yards and two touchdowns in 38 games played.

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore (knee) had an underwhelming season in 2025, recording 50 receptions for 682 yards and six touchdowns on 85 targets across 17 games. With Bears wideout Rome Odunze (foot) missing the team's final five games of the regular season due to a foot injury, Moore seemingly had a chance to re-emerge as Chicago's WR1. However, Moore struggled down the stretch, recording just two receptions for 18 yards on seven targets over his final two outings. Heading into Chicago's Wild Card Weekend matchup against the Green Bay Packers, Moore was listed as a limited practice participant on Tuesday due to a knee issue. Additionally, Odunze was able to get back to practice in a limited capacity, which could signal his return for the first round of the playoffs. Between Moore's fading play and uncertain health, as well as Odunze's possible return, fantasy managers in playoff leagues may find Moore tough to trust entering the postseason.

Across 17 games in 2025, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith recorded 77 receptions for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns on 113 targets. While the 27-year-old's season-long numbers are solid, he ended the year on somewhat of a cold streak. Over his last six games played, Smith recorded more than 10 PPR points just once. However, Smith remains the clear second option in the Eagles' passing game alongside wideout A.J. Brown. Philadelphia also has a relatively favorable matchup in the first round of the NFL playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers. In the regular season, San Francisco's defense ranked 23rd among all NFL units in passing yards allowed (4,110) and tied for 21st in passing touchdowns allowed (29). Smith should have a chance to make plays, particularly if the 49ers' high-powered offense forces Philadelphia into a shootout. Fantasy managers in playoff leagues can view Smith as a solid wide receiver option entering the postseason.
