Lions' Aidan Hutchinson lands $180M extension

Wed Oct 29 12:09pm ET
Field Level Media

The Detroit Lions are signing star pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson to a four-year, $180 million contract extension, his agent confirmed to multiple media outlets on Wednesday.

The Lions had not confirmed the reports by late morning, but did post a meme of Hutchinson dancing on the team's official X account.

The reported $141 million guaranteed is the highest ever among non-quarterbacks and the $45 million average salary trails only the Green Bay Packers' Micah Parsons ($46.5 million) among non-QBs.

Hutchinson has recorded six sacks, a league-leading four forced fumbles and 13 quarterback hits through seven starts this season with the Lions (5-2).

The 25-year-old defensive end has 34.5 sacks, 78 QB hits, 138 tackles, eight forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, four interceptions and 11 passes defensed in 46 career games (all starts). He made the Pro Bowl in 2023 but missed the last 12 games in 2024 after fracturing his leg in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hutchinson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, already had been signed for $20.86 million for next season on the fifth-year option in his rookie contract.

Receiver Values: Week 9

Player Notes
Josh Jacobs Nov 2 9:20pm CT
Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been playing through a calf injury in recent weeks, but he looked fully healthy in the Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Jacobs led the backfield with 17 carries for 87 yards (5.1 yards per tote) and a touchdown, scoring for the fifth straight week and for the 10th time on the ground in eight games. Green Bay's loss to the Cleveland Browns back on Sept. 21 was the only time in 2025 so far in which Jacobs has not scored a rushing TD. In the last five games, the veteran back has 354 rushing yards and nine rushing scores. He also caught four of his five targets in the passing game for 13 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to Carolina. Jacobs has gone over 100 scrimmage yards in three straight games. Despite a tough upcoming matchup in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacobs will remain a must-start RB in fantasy football.

J.J. McCarthy Nov 2 9:10pm CT
J.J. McCarthy

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy returned in Week 9 from an ankle injury that had sidelined him for five games and led his team to a massive victory on the road over the division rival Detroit Lions. McCarthy completed 14 of 25 pass attempts for 143 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, adding 12 yards and a touchdown on nine rush attempts. While it was not the most efficient day for McCarthy from a yardage perspective, the 22-year-old showed flashes of his ability to pilot a productive NFL offense. McCarthy's ability to make plays with his legs also bodes well for his fantasy upside. The Vikings will host the resurgent Baltimore Ravens in Week 10.

Jared Goff Nov 2 9:00pm CT
Jared Goff

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff did not have his cleanest game in Week 9, taking five sacks in his team's 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Still, Goff managed to post solid production from a fantasy perspective, completing 25 of 37 pass attempts for 284 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The 31-year-old has now thrown for 1,915 yards, 17 touchdowns, and three interceptions across eight starts in 2025. Unfortunately for Goff, the Lions' pass protection issues may continue going forward as they lost starting left guard Christian Mahogany (leg) to a serious-looking leg injury in Week 9. Still, Goff has a favorable matchup on paper in Week 10 when the Lions travel to Washington to face the Commanders.

Demario Douglas Nov 2 8:50pm CT
Demario Douglas

New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas had his best game of the season in his team's 24-23 Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Douglas recorded four catches for a team-best 100 receiving yards and a touchdown on six targets. Douglas was having a quiet season before this breakout game, as he had recorded 14 catches for 162 yards and two scores heading into Week 9. However, there's some reason to believe that this could be more than just a one-off performance. The Patriots lost wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) to a hamstring injury in Week 9. While it's unclear how much (if any) time Boutte will miss, his absence would push Douglas up the target pecking order in New England. The Patriots will travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers in Week 10.

Davante Adams Nov 2 8:40pm CT
Davante Adams

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams picked up right where he left off before the team's Week 8 bye in Week 9. Adams recorded five catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets in the Rams' 34-10 blowout win over the New Orleans Saints. Adams has now hauled in five touchdown grabs over his last two games played. The 32-year-old is in the midst of an excellent first season in Los Angeles with 36 catches for 391 yards and eight touchdowns on 70 targets. Additionally, star Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (ribs) exited Week 9 early due to a rib injury. Head coach Sean McVay said following the game that Nacua could have returned had the score been closer. Still, Adams would obviously stand to benefit from a target volume standpoint if Nacua were to miss time. Los Angeles will travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in Week 10.

Dalton Kincaid Nov 2 8:30pm CT
Dalton Kincaid

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid had a monster game in his team's 28-21 Week 9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, recording six catches for 101 yards and a touchdown on six targets. The 26-year-old has now recorded 27 receptions for 411 yards and four scores on 33 targets across seven games played in 2025. Kincaid missed Buffalo's Week 6 loss due to an oblique injury and was eased back into the lineup in the team's blowout Week 8 win, their first game back from their bye week. He appeared to be back to full health in Week 9, which is a great sign for both fantasy managers and the Bills. Kincaid profiles as a clear fantasy starter at the tight end position heading into a favorable Week 10 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Geno Smith Nov 2 8:20pm CT
Geno Smith

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith had arguably his best game in a Raiders uniform in his team's 30-29 overtime Week 9 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 35-year-old completed 29 of 39 pass attempts for 284 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Smith has mostly struggled so far this season. Heading into Week 9, he had thrown for 1,417 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions across seven games played, leading to some questions about his job security in Las Vegas. Smith likely put those questions to bed for at least one week with his standout performance against Jacksonville. Still, Smith will remain tough for fantasy managers to trust in Week 10, as the Raiders have a difficult road matchup against their division rival, the Denver Broncos.

Trevor Lawrence Nov 2 8:20pm CT
Trevor Lawrence

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence did not have his best day as a passer in his team's 30-29 overtime Week 9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, completing 23 of 34 pass attempts for 220 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. However, Lawrence saved his fantasy production by logging 24 yards and two touchdowns on nine rush attempts. Across eight starts this season, the 26-year-old has now thrown for 1,840 yards, nine touchdowns, and six picks. His rushing ability may currently be the most consistent part of his game, as he's run for 137 yards and four touchdowns on 39 attempts. Lawrence and the Jaguars have a very difficult matchup in Week 10 when they travel to Houston to take on the Texans.

Sam LaPorta Nov 2 8:10pm CT
Sam LaPorta

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta caught six of his eight targets for 97 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 9 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. His best play of the game was a 40-yard touchdown in which he withstood a bombardment of Vikings tackles and plowed his way across the goal line. The 24-year-old now has three touchdowns over his last four games and ranks as the overall TE7 in PPR leagues with 35 catches, 436 yards, and three scores in 2025. He should continue to be viewed as a top-10 fantasy tight end heading into Week 10 against the Washington Commanders.

From RotoBaller

Luke McCaffrey Nov 2 8:00pm CT
Luke McCaffrey

Washington Commanders wide receiver Luke McCaffrey (shoulder) exited during the first quarter of Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Seattle Seahawks. He appeared to suffer the injury while returning the game's opening kickoff. As a result of his injury, McCaffrey has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. The 24-year-old Rice product had taken on an expanded role in recent weeks, catching 10 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns over his last six games. With McCaffrey, Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), and Noah Brown (groin, knee) all sidelined, the Commanders will turn to a combination of Chris Moore, Jaylin Lane, and Treylon Burks in the No. 2 receiver role alongside Deebo Samuel Sr.

From RotoBaller

Michael Penix Jr. Nov 2 7:50pm CT
Michael Penix Jr.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. completed 22 of his 37 pass attempts for 221 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 9 loss against the New England Patriots. He also added two rushing attempts for 19 rushing yards. Penix returned from a one-game absence and delivered his best fantasy performance of the season, finishing with three passing touchdowns for the first time in his young career. All three of those touchdown passes went to Drake London, who also accounted for more than half of Penix's passing yards. Penix fared well enough against a strong Patriots defense that we expect him to remain a solid QB1 option against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.

Kyle Monangai Nov 2 7:50pm CT
Kyle Monangai

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai rushed for 176 yards on 26 carries during Sunday's Week 9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also caught three of his five targets for an additional 22 receiving yards. Monangai was thrust into the lead-back role with D'Andre Swift (groin) sidelined, and he took full advantage of the opportunity, notching 29 touches in just his eighth career NFL game. The rookie seventh-round pick has played well enough over the last few weeks that he might be able to hold onto the lead-back role even when Swift is healthy again. At the very least, Monangai will carve out a sizable complementary role, giving him an RB3/flex floor every week. He's an RB3 heading into Week 10 against the New York Giants and could jump to the low-end RB1 tier if Swift is ruled out.

From RotoBaller

D.J. Moore Nov 2 7:50pm CT
D.J. Moore

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore caught four of his six targets for 72 receiving yards during Sunday's Week 9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also had a two-yard passing touchdown and a 17-yard rushing touchdown. We've heard for several months that Moore was going to have some unique ways of getting involved in new head coach Ben Johnson's system, but perhaps nobody expected the wide receiver to run and throw for a touchdown in the same game. The 28-year-old had his best fantasy performance (PPR) since Week 12 last season. He remains a low-end WR2 heading into Week 10 against the 2-7 New York Giants.

From RotoBaller

Matthew Stafford Nov 2 7:40pm CT
Matthew Stafford

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 24 of his 32 pass attempts for 281 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 9 victory over the New Orleans Saints. He also took two sacks and finished with a loss of four rushing yards. The veteran quarterback is enjoying an MVP-caliber campaign at the age of 37, racking up 21 touchdowns and just two interceptions through eight games. He ranks third among quarterbacks in fantasy points per game since Week 4, and he's eighth in fantasy points per game for the full season. Stafford lacks rushing upside, but his spectacular passing stats should keep him in the mid-range QB1 tier for Week 10 against the San Francisco 49ers. In his last outing against the Niners, Stafford racked up 389 passing yards and three passing touchdowns.

Josh Allen Nov 2 7:30pm CT
Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 23 of his 26 pass attempts for 273 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. He also had 19 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The MVP candidate led Buffalo to a huge victory at home and fended off a late Kansas City comeback effort. He was highly efficient through the air and continued to flash impressive skills on the ground. Allen is now the overall QB4 in fantasy football through nine weeks, cementing himself as a top fantasy option once again heading into Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins.

From RotoBaller

Brock Bowers Nov 2 7:20pm CT
Brock Bowers

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers caught 12 of his 13 targets for 127 yards and three touchdowns during Sunday's Week 9 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bowers returned from a three-game absence and delivered his best game since being drafted, setting a new career-high in fantasy points (PPR) and touchdowns. Even as the Raiders' offense struggles against softer defenses, Bowers is proving why he was worthy of being a second-round pick in many redraft leagues this year. Managers should continue to deploy him as a high-end TE1 heading into a matchup against the Denver Broncos, who just surrendered six catches and 77 yards to Dalton Schultz.

From RotoBaller

Dyami Brown Nov 2 7:00pm CT
Dyami Brown

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown suffered a concussion during the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. He was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game, in accordance with the NFL's concussion protocol and policy. Brown finished the game with seven targets, three catches, and 25 receiving yards. The 26-year-old will now have seven days to clear concussion protocol before Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. If he is unable to do so, Tim Jones would likely earn more snaps behind Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle).

From RotoBaller

Nick Chubb Nov 2 6:43pm CT
Nick Chubb

Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb carried 11 times for 34 yards in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb had one more carry than Woody Marks, but six fewer carries than his season high in Week 8. Chubb has topped 50 yards just three times this season and has only two touchdowns, so there's not much fantasy value, especially if he's sharing touches.

From TheHuddle

Brian Thomas Jr. Nov 2 6:40pm CT
Brian Thomas Jr.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) exited during the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He was listed as questionable but ultimately did not return to the contest. He finished the game with five targets, three catches, and 55 receiving yards. The 23-year-old has been quite disappointing in his second pro season, catching just 30 passes for 420 yards and one touchdown through eight games. Even with Travis Hunter (knee) on injured reserve, Thomas failed to operate as the alpha receiver, instead ceding that role to Parker Washington (eight catches for 90 yards). The LSU product is merely a WR3/flex with upside ahead of Week 10 against the Houston Texans. In his last battle against Houston, he caught two of six targets for 55 yards. Of course, fantasy managers should monitor Thomas' status on the Jaguars' injury reports within the upcoming week.

From RotoBaller

Evan Engram Nov 2 6:33pm CT
Evan Engram

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram did not have a catch on three targets in Week 9 against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Spin: Engram entered with 26 grabs for 215 yards and one touchdown. He's not fantasy relevant at this point of the season unless disaster strikes your tight end room.
