Giants WR Malik Nabers carted off with apparent knee injury vs. Chargers

Sun Sep 28 2:42pm ET
Field Level Media

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was carted off the field in the second quarter of Sunday's home game against the Los Angeles Chargers with an apparent right knee injury.

Nabers, 22, was injured as he jumped for a downfield pass from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart with 6:12 remaining in the first half. As the pass fell incomplete, Nabers immediately grabbed for his right knee as he went to the ground.

Nabers had been limited in practice earlier in the week because of a shoulder injury.

Nabers, 22, entered Week 4 leading New York in receptions (16), receiving yards (251) and receiving touchdowns (two). Before departing Sunday, he had two receptions for 20 yards.

Last season, Nabers set an NFL rookie record for receivers with 109 catches, which also was a franchise mark for the Giants.

Nabers totaled 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games (13 starts) last season en route to being named to the Pro Bowl.

The Giants selected Nabers with the sixth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU.

Davante Adams Sep 28 1:50pm CT
Davante Adams

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) is officially active for his team's Week 4 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Adams missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday of this week and was listed on the injury report as questionable heading into Sunday. The veteran wideout has recorded 13 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns so far in 2025. Now that he's officially good to go, Adams is a must-start fantasy wide receiver in Week 4 against the Colts.

Malik Nabers Sep 28 1:30pm CT
Malik Nabers

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) has been carted off the field from his team's Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a knee injury, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Nabers had recorded two catches for 20 yards on three targets before getting injured. Losing Nabers would be a devastating blow for the Giants' offense. While the severity of his injury is not yet known, it's not a good sign that he was unable to leave the field under his own power. If Nabers is sidelined, Giants wide receivers Darius Slayton and Wan'Dale Robinson would likely see an increase in targets.

Cedric Tillman Sep 28 1:30pm CT
Cedric Tillman

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman (hamstring) has been ruled out for the remainder of his team's Week 4 matchup against the Detroit Lions due to a hamstring injury. Tillman had one catch for six yards on two targets before getting injured. The 25-year-old is a key piece of the Cleveland passing game. In his absence, Browns wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Isaiah Bond will likely see an uptick in both playing time and target share.

David Moore Sep 28 1:20pm CT
David Moore

Carolina Panthers wide receiver David Moore (elbow) has been ruled out for the remainder of his team's Week 4 matchup against the New England Patriots, according to Joseph Person of The Athletic. Moore had not been targeted before getting injured, but he had recorded a 12-yard carry. With Moore sidelined, Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan should see an even larger role in the passing game. Wideouts Hunter Renfrow and Brycen Tremayne should also see an increased target share.

Aaron Rodgers Sep 28 1:10pm CT
Aaron Rodgers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of 22 pass attempts for 200 yards and a touchdown in a Week 4 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers has now thrown for 786 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions through his first four games in Pittsburgh. The 41-year-old didn't light up the stat sheet against Minnesota, but he was able to be fairly efficient without turning the football over. Rodgers profiles as a low-end fantasy QB2 at best and will be on his bye week in Week 5.

Zavier Scott Sep 28 1:00pm CT
Zavier Scott

Minnesota Vikings running back Zavier Scott had the best game of his young career Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching six passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 24-21 defeat. The former undrafted free agent rushed only twice for one yard, but Minnesota trailed by 18 at one point and called only 18 designed running plays in the game. With running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) out until at least Week 7, Scott could have some streaming value behind starter Jordan Mason, especially in PPR leagues. As a converted wide receiver, his pass-catching ability should keep him on the radar as the Vikings prepare to take on Cleveland in Week 5.

Jordan Addison Sep 28 12:50pm CT
Jordan Addison

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison put together a productive performance in his return to the field on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, hauling in four passes for 114 yards in the Vikings' 24-21 defeat. Playing in his first game after a three-week suspension, the third-year receiver nearly had an even bigger day, but was tripped up at the one-yard line following an 81-yard catch in the fourth quarter. Addison saw an encouraging eight targets in the game and produced despite Minnesota's offensive struggles behind backup quarterback Carson Wentz. The Vikings' biggest issue going forward will be injuries on the offensive line, which will have its hands full with the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.

David Moore Sep 28 12:40pm CT
David Moore

The Carolina Panthers deemed wide receiver David Moore (elbow) questionable to return to Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. The veteran wide receiver had a 12-yard rush at the time of his exit from the game, but no targets. On a struggling Panthers offense, Moore doesn't carry much value outside of very deep formats, and even in those, he's not generally a recommended option for a starting lineup.

Carson Wentz Sep 28 12:30pm CT
Carson Wentz

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz was mostly ineffective on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but ended with strong fantasy numbers thanks to 46 passing attempts, 30 completions, 350 passing yards and two touchdowns in a 24-21 loss. The Vikings' backup struggled overall to operate the offense, holding the ball to the tune of six sacks, throwing two picks, and nearly being intercepted twice on the Vikings' final drive, on which he committed a back-breaking intentional grounding penalty. Wentz is likely to earn at least one more start with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) injured, but he'll have a tough matchup next week with the Vikings' beat-up line facing Cleveland's excellent defensive front.

D.K. Metcalf Sep 28 12:20pm CT
D.K. Metcalf

An 80-yard touchdown catch set up Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf for a nice fantasy performance Sunday against Minnesota, as he concluded his day with five catches for 126 yards and the aforementioned touchdown in a 24-21 win. The first-year Steeler drew only five targets, one fewer than running back Kenneth Gainwell, but did maximum damage with them, including the long touchdown in which he outran the Minnesota secondary. As Pittsburgh's top receiver, Metcalf should continue to be a solid fantasy WR2 after the Steelers' Week 5 bye.

Kenneth Gainwell Sep 28 12:10pm CT
Kenneth Gainwell

With Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren (knee) inactive on Sunday, Kenneth Gainwell performed well in the lead role, putting up 134 total yards and two touchdowns in a win against the Minnesota Vikings. Crucially, Gainwell was a highly involved pass catcher who saw a team-high six targets, all of which he caught, for 35 yards. He added 99 rushing yards on 19 carries and a pair of touchdowns, a well-rounded day for managers who made him a late addition to their starting lineups. But with Pittsburgh on a bye in Week 5 and Warren likely to be back, Gainwell will likely return to the No. 2 role when the Steelers are back in action.

Rhamondre Stevenson Sep 28 11:40am CT
Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson is warming up with the team's top offensive unit before the Week 4 contest against the visiting Carolina Panthers on Sunday, according to Boston Sports beat writer Alex Barth. Despite losing two crucial fumbles in last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Mike Vrabel said that Stevenson wouldn't lose playing time going into this weekend's game against Carolina. The fact that Stevenson is warming up with the starting offensive unit seems to support this. Stevenson could get the "start" against the Panthers, but it doesn't mean that rookie TreVeyon Henderson won't lead New England's backfield on Sunday, especially if Stevenson puts the ball on the ground again. Given his ball-security issues, Stevenson is an incredibly shaky RB3/flex option for fantasy managers in Week 4.

Adoree' Jackson Sep 28 11:30am CT
Adoree' Jackson

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Adoree' Jackson (groin) has officially been ruled out for the Week 4 clash against the hosting Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday with a groin injury. Jackson came into Sunday's game with a doubtful designation, so he was not expected to play in the first place. The 30-year-old was injured in the Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Rams, and his next chance to get on the field will come in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Jackson was limited in two practices this week, so he should have a good chance to return next week. With Jackson out against Tampa, Kelee Ringo will see more run in Philadelphia's secondary on Sunday against Baker Mayfield and Company.

Calvin Austin III Sep 28 11:30am CT
Calvin Austin III

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III (shoulder) injured his shoulder in the Week 4 game in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday and is questionable to return, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN. With the Steelers up two scores late in the fourth quarter, it's unlikely that Austin will return to this contest. The 26-year-old injured his shoulder after landing hard on it during a catch early in the fourth quarter. Before the injury, Austin had done very little for fantasy managers on Sunday, catching both of his targets for 13 yards. The good news for Austin is that the Steelers have their bye next week, so if his injury isn't serious, he should be able to suit up for the team's next game on Sunday, Oct. 12, against the division-rival Cleveland Browns at home.UPDATE: Austin was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.

A.J. Epenesa Sep 28 11:20am CT
A.J. Epenesa

Buffalo Bills linebacker A.J. Epenesa (pectoral), who was listed as questionable to play in Week 4, is officially active for Sunday's game against the visiting New Orleans Saints. However, offensive tackle Spencer Brown (calf) has been ruled out. The Bills will also be without linebacker Matt Milano (pectoral) and defensive tackle Ed Oliver (ankle), who were both ruled out on Friday. Epenesa was limited in practice all week, so it's not a big surprise that he's able to play this weekend. Buffalo's defense could feast against the 0-3 Saints in a game in which they are favored by over two touchdowns. The 27-year-old Epenesa comes into Week 4 action with three solo tackles and a fumble recovery through three games. He's not a starting option in IDP fantasy formats as a rotational pass-rusher.

Devaughn Vele

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Devaughn Vele (hip) is officially active for Sunday's Week 4 contest against the Buffalo Bills. He had been listed as questionable after logging three limited practices this week. The 27-year-old has merely occupied a depth role when healthy, catching two passes for 16 yards through two games, though he did add a touchdown. He and Trey Palmer will continue to compete for the No. 4 role behind established receivers Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks. Vele can be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues.

Derek Stingley Jr. Sep 28 11:00am CT
Derek Stingley Jr.

Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. (oblique), who was questionable to play in Week 4 against the division-rival Tennessee Titans, is active on Sunday. Stingley did not practice on Wednesday but was limited on Thursday and Friday. The 24-year-old defensive back will be available in a strong matchup for Houston's defense/special teams unit against Titans rookie quarterback Cameron Ward. Through the first three games of 2025, Stingley has eight tackles and three pass breakups. Although the Texans D/ST hasn't been excellent for fantasy managers in the early going this year, they should be in starting lineups in all leagues this weekend against the 0-3 Titans.
