Field Level Media
32. New York Jets (0-5)
Last Week: L, 37-22 vs. Dallas Cowboys
Up Next: vs. Denver Broncos, 9:30 a.m. ET (London)
Direction and discipline were the givens when the Jets hired Aaron Glenn as head coach. Now? Alarm bells sounding over a lifeless effort and the continued missteps from a high-priced defense.
31. Miami Dolphins (1-4)
Last Week: L, 27-24 at Carolina Panthers
Up Next: vs. Los Angeles Chargers (3-2), 1 p.m. ET
Might be a housecleaning warning in Miami if the Dolphins don't put up a reasonable effort on Sunday.
30. Tennessee Titans (1-4)
Last Week: W, 22-21 at Arizona Cardinals
Up Next: at Las Vegas Raiders (1-4), 4:05 p.m. ET
Cam Ward's greater command of pro offense and poise, fight to give Tennessee a glimmer of hope brighter days are closer than some projected after an 0-4 September. Last of three in a row on the road.
29. New York Giants (1-4)
Last Week: L, 26-14 at New Orleans Saints
Up Next: vs. Philadelphia Eagles (4-1), 8:20 p.m. ET (Thursday)
Rookies are going to bring energy and growing pains from week-to-week. Brian Daboll has a 1-6 record (2022 playoffs included) against the Eagles the past three seasons.
28. New Orleans Saints (1-4)
Last Week: W, 26-14 vs. New York Giants
Up Next: vs. New England Patriots (3-2), 1 p.m. ET
Beating a rookie quarterback at home still counts as one full win. Even the sum-of-parts operation in New Orleans can turn five takeaways and eight penalties into a victory.
27. Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)
Last Week: L, 37-24 vs. Detroit Lions
Up Next: at Green Bay Packers (2-1-1), 1 p.m. ET
Jake Browning, this hook is for you. A fourth-quarter flurry aside, Browning has been atrocious trying to play Joe Burrow.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-4)
Last Week: L, 40-6
Up Next: vs. Tennessee Titans (1-4), 4:05 p.m. ET
Sixteen TDs allowed and only four takeaways compared to 10 turnovers paints the picture of another disappointing start for the Raiders.
25. Cleveland Browns (1-4)
Last Week: L, 21-17 vs. Minnesota Vikings (London)
Up Next: at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1), 1 p.m. ET
Benching Joe Flacco is likely the right move for a team going nowhere fast. Defense would be good enough to turn almost any team into a title contender. With a hyper-conversative offensive scheme, the Browns require their defense to be the hammer.
24. Carolina Panthers (2-3)
Last Week: W, 27-24 vs. Miami Dolphins
Up Next: vs. Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1), 1 p.m. ET
Not ready to dial up the Super Bowl futures by any stretch, but the Cats are capable and have been better at home. After hosting Dallas, Carolina plays the Jets. Is a winning streak and over .500 record possible before the meat of the NFC South schedule hits?
23. Arizona Cardinals (2-3)
Last Week: L, 22-21 vs. Tennessee Titans
Up Next: at Indianapolis Colts (4-1), 1 p.m. ET
Figuring out the second half is the make-or-break issue for the Cardinals. Shut out in the fourth quarter for the fourth time in five games in a brutal loss to the Titans last week. Only one third-quarter TD all season.
22. Baltimore Ravens (1-4)
Last Week: L, 44-10 vs. Houston Texans
Up Next: vs. Los Angeles Rams (3-2), 1 p.m. ET
All-around disappointment is right, John Harbaugh. We're shocked to see the Ravens near the bottom third of the NFL, too.
21. Houston Texans (2-3)
Last Week: W, at Baltimore Ravens
Up Next: Bye week
Cranked out a convincing win against the Baltimore "B" team. Bye week could be make or break for setting a course on offense.
20. Atlanta Falcons (2-2)
Last Week: Bye week
Up Next: vs. Buffalo Bills (4-1), 7:15 p.m. ET (Monday)
Still afloat after an up-and-down start. Opportunity for a statement with consecutive primetime dates (at San Francisco, Oct. 19) before schedule softens.
19. Chicago Bears (2-2)
Last Week: Bye week
Up Next: at Washington Commanders (3-2), 8:15 p.m. ET (Monday)
Pretty tasty Monday main event is a rematch of the Jayden Daniels "Hail Mary Game" win over the Bears and the only player selected ahead of him in the 2024 NFL Draft.
18. Minnesota Vikings (3-2)
Last Week: W, 24-21 vs. Cleveland Browns
Up Next: Bye week
Justin Jefferson reunited with Jordan Addison and Carson Wentz was good enough. Minnesota motivated to find out what it has in QB J.J. McCarthy.
17. Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1)
Last Week: W, 37-22 at New York Jets
Up Next: at Carolina Panthers (2-3), 1 p.m. ET
Panthers are not elite up front on either side of the ball, which plays to the favor of the Cowboys.
16. Washington Commanders (3-2)
Last Week: W, 27-10 at Los Angeles Chargers
Up Next: vs. Chicago Bears (2-2), 8:20 p.m. ET (Monday)
Jayden Daniels vs. Caleb Williams this week, but the minefield won't be easy to navigate this month. Washington packs for Dallas, Kansas City and hosts the Seahawks and Lions in the four games that follow MNF.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)
Last Week: Bye week
Up Next: vs. Cleveland Browns (1-4), 1 p.m. ET
No more confident this iteration of the Steelers is legit than we were this time last year, when Pittsburgh was also 3-1.
14. Los Angeles Chargers (3-2)
Last Week: L, 27-10 vs. Washington Commanders
Up Next: at Miami Dolphins (1-4), 1 p.m. ET
Injuries everywhere, the Chargers might need to make a trade to restore the identity of a run-first group. Must keep Justin Herbert upright.
13. Los Angeles Rams (3-2)
Last Week: L, 26-23 vs. San Francisco 49ers
Up Next: at Baltimore Ravens (1-4), 1 p.m. ET
Handed the 49ers a win and a game in the standings in a heartbreaker last Thursday. Might take it out on the shorthanded Ravens, but that plan didn't play out against the Niners.
12. Seattle Seahawks (3-2)
Last Week: L, 38-35 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Up Next: at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1), 1 p.m. ET
Outscored opponents by 41 points in the first five games, only three wins to show for it because of second-half struggles.
11. New England Patriots (3-2)
Last Week: W, 23-20 at Buffalo Bills
Up Next: at New Orleans Saints (1-4), 1 p.m. ET
Drake Maye completing 73.9 percent of his passes and not making back-breaking mistakes would keep the Patriots in most games. Early arrival than expected as an AFC contender.
10. Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)
Last Week: L, 31-28 at Jacksonville Jaguars
Up Next: vs. Detroit Lions, 8:20 p.m. ET (Sunday)
One more week without Rashee Rice, the Chiefs are home three consecutive games with trips to Buffalo and Denver around the corner.
9. San Francisco 49ers (4-1)
Last Week: W, 26-23 at Los Angeles Rams
Up Next: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1), 4:25 p.m. ET
Won at Tampa (23-20) last November only to lose seven of final eight.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1)
Last Week: W, 31-28 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Up Next: vs. Seattle Seahawks (3-2), 1 p.m. ET
One Week 2 breakdown at Cincinnati from being 5-0, the Jaguars are to be taken seriously. With 14 takeaways, Jacksonville is covering up a poor third-down defense.
7. Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)
Last Week: Bye
Up Next: vs. Cincinnati Bengals (2-3), 1 p.m. ET
One loss this season was to Joe Flacco. Surprise! Flacco will start for the Bengals after being acquired by the Browns. Rested after an unexpected tie in Dallas, the Packers should be closer to full strength for the team's only home game in a span of more than 50 days.
6. Denver Broncos (3-2)
Last Week: W, 21-17 at Philadelphia Eagles
Up Next: vs. New York Jets (0-5), 9:30 a.m. (London)
To avoid going from taking down undefeated Philadelphia to losing to the winless Jets, Denver has to guard against losing track of QB Justin Fields.
5. Indianapolis Colts (4-1)
Last Week: W, 40-6 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Up Next: vs. Arizona Cardinals (2-3), 1 p.m. ET
Undefeated vs. AFC and in the division, the Colts went from surprise to the team we expect to win each week. Credit Shane Steichen for the renaissance.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)
Last Week: W, 38-35 at Seattle Seahawks
Up Next: vs. San Francisco 49ers (4-1), 4:25 p.m. ET
This says as much about the team the Seahawks can be this season. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs won at Seattle and have survived injuries at critical positions.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (4-1)
Last Week: L, 21-17 vs. Denver Broncos
Up Next: at New York Giants, 8:15 p.m. ET (Thursday)
Still no threat through the air, the Eagles are more physical than virtually every opponent on the schedule. Teams that force them to adjust can get the upper hand.
2. Buffalo Bills (4-1)
Last Week: L, 23-20 vs. New England Patriots
Up Next: at Atlanta Falcons, 8:15 p.m. (Monday)
Not a dangerous defense, but the Bills can outscore any defense incapable of taking away one of their strengths.
1. Detroit Lions (4-1)
Last Week: W, 37-24 at Cincinnati Bengals
Up Next: at Kansas City Chiefs, 8:20 p.m. ET (Sunday)
Lions return to the scene of their "surprising" upset in 2023 (21-20) and have the look of the favorite this time around.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston (hamstring) was listed as a limited practice participant in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. It's unclear if Johnston is in danger of missing a Week 6 game against the Miami Dolphins on the road, but it's something worth watching the rest of the week. The 24-year-old former first-rounder came out of the gates hot in his third NFL season to post four touchdowns in the first four weeks, but he had his worst game of the year in the Week 5 loss to the Washington Commanders, catching four passes for 40 yards while also losing a fumble. Johnston isn't going away in L.A.'s offense, though, and the Bolts could be looking to throw the ball more with rookie running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) on Injured Reserve. If Johnston is active in Week 6, he'll have a good chance to score his fifth TD of the year against Miami.

In his return to practice for the first time this year on Wednesday, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) was listed as limited, per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. The Packers opened Watson's 21-day practice window to officially return from the Physically Unable to Perform list. It means that the 26-year-old can resume practicing with the team, but it doesn't make him a lock to make his 2025 debut in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Watson suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in the Week 18 regular-season finale last year, which is why he has missed the first five games of 2025. At the very least, though, Watson deserves waiver-wire consideration with his return on the horizon. When healthy, Watson gives the Packers an explosive deep threat, although his fantasy value could very well be boom/bust in a crowded Packers receiving room.

Seattle Seahawks LB Derick Hall (oblique), LB Ernest Jones (shoulder), OT Joshua Jones (ankle), DE DeMarcus Lawrence (quadriceps), S Julian Love (hamstring), DT Jarran Reed (non-injury) and CB Devon Witherspoon (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. S Nick Emmanwori (ankle) and Riq Woolen (concussion) were limited during practice. FB Brady Russell (wrist) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Miami Dolphins LB Tyrel Dodson (concussion) and TE Darren Waller (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 8, while OL Larry Borom (thumb), OL Aaron Brewer (pectoral), DB Elijah Campbell (quadriceps), CB Storm Duck (ankle), QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip, thumb) and WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. (knee) were listed as limited participants.
From TheHuddle
Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott made both of his extra points and his only field goal attempt from 31 yards against the Broncos to maintain his 100% accuracy rate this season. Unfortunately, his perfect streak still isn't translating to fantasy points. Elliott faces the Giants on Thursday night, a team that he made two-of-three field goals and six-of-six extra points against last year in two meetings. New York allows 25.4 points per game this season, but Elliott should probably still sit this fantasy week out until he starts putting up more numbers week-to-week.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (non-injury), OT Joe Alt (ankle), WR Derius Davis (knee), LB Bud Dupree (hamstring), DE Da'Shawn Hand (groin), OT Trey Pipkins (knee) and CB Ja'Sir Taylor (illness) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. OG Mekhi Becton (hand), WR Quentin Johnston (hamstring), LB Denzel Perryman (ankle) and OG Jamaree Salyer (knee) were limited during practice.
From TheHuddle
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has had four underwhelming showings in the first five weeks of the season, with his most recent game against the Broncos seeing him total just 43 yards on five catches. That being said, if there ever were a time for Brown to impress, it would be Thursday night against the Giants. New York is allowing the second-most fantasy points to WRs and the eighth-most passing yards per game (237.2) this season. Brown is getting consistent looks with at least eight targets in each of his last four games; now it's just time for him to capitalize on them. He's been a frustrating fantasy player so far, but this is make-or-break time for him. Even with his disappointing start, Brown is a low-end WR2 for Week 6.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that there's a chance that tight end George Kittle (hamstring) will return from Injured Reserve to play in next Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7, according to David Lombardi of The Athletic. The Niners have yet to open the 31-year-old's 21-day practice window, so Kittle will not be back this weekend to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fantasy managers are going to have to stay patient, as Kittle won't be a lock to make his return next week, even if he resumes practicing in some capacity. San Fran really could use some good news in the health department, as receivers Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) and Ricky Pearsall (knee) could both miss their second straight game this Sunday. Jake Tonges has seen his pass-catching role increase and has now scored in back-to-back weeks. Tonges will be a TE2 streamer yet again against Tampa, especially if Jennings and Pearsall miss another game.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith boomed against the Broncos, recording his highest target and receiving yard counts of the season in a team-leading performance. The question with Smith, as usual, is whether or not he can turn this into consistency. After his last big game against the Rams, he followed it up with two catches on two targets in the next outing. This week, he does have a very favorable matchup against the Giants, who are allowing the second-most fantasy points to WRs this season. Plus, on a short week, Smith might be able to capitalize on a New York defense that's less than 100% conditioned. He's worth a WR3 spot in what should be his second consecutive strong week.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert has now scored in three straight games, bringing his touchdown total to four since the start of Week 3. What's scary about Goedert is the fact that he hasn't garnered more than four receptions in a game since Week 1. While he is touchdown-dependent, managers might as well keep starting him while he's scoring touchdowns. He does lead Philly in targets and receptions inside the 10-yard line and boasts a 100% catch rate in that area. His streak will likely have to end eventually, but for now Goedert should still be considered a low-end TE1.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Fantasy Spin: Allen will return to practice in the next day or two and is on track to play in the Week 6 game. He has been targeted at least seven times in every game this season and appears to be one of Justin Herbert's favorite targets. He can be at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues this week.
From TheHuddle
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley tallied his lowest rushing yards count of the season against the Broncos, carrying the ball just six times for 30 yards. On the other hand, Barkley has the 10th-most receptions among RBs this year with 17, and added to that count by hauling in three catches for 58 yards and a touchdown versus Denver. In Week 6 he matches up with the Giants on Thursday Night Football, and New York allows the fifth-most fantasy points to RBs this season. When Barkley met the G-Men last year, he bulldozed them for 176 yards. Whether he has a good game running or a good game receiving, you can bet on #26 to have a good game. Barkley is a high-end RB1 against his division rival.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles running back A.J. Dillon once again saw himself get priority over Will Shipley for second-in-command in the backfield this past Sunday, but that meant playing just 14.8% of offensive snaps compared to Shipley's 13.1%. Dillon carried the ball twice for 12 yards, with one attempt coming in the red zone. It seems like Shipley will get more usage in the passing game than his counterpart, being targeted twice while Dillon did not get any looks. Regardless, neither Dillon nor Shipley are involved enough to warrant a start in fantasy this week.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had his worst rushing game of the season against Denver on Sunday, being held to just two attempts for three yards on the ground. However, Hurts is facing a Giants defense on Thursday night that allowed Jayden Daniels to run for 68 yards on them a few weeks back, so the Philly QB should be back to his scrambling ways in Week 6. He had another high-volume passing day against the Broncos-tallying a season-high 280 yards while posting two touchdowns-and has now thrown for seven scores over his last three outings. Expect a multi-pronged attack by Hurts against a poor New York defense. He should be considered a top tier QB1, even on a short week.

Tennessee Titans OL Blake Hance (shoulder), CB Marcus Harris (calf), WR Van Jefferson (ankle), LB Arden Key (quadriceps), WR Tyler Lockett (rest), DL James Lynch (shoulder), RB Tony Pollard (rest), DT Jeffery Simmons (ankle), PK Joey Slye (calf) and CB L'Jarius Sneed (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. OT JC Latham (hip), WR Bryce Oliver (knee), RB Tyjae Spears (ankle) and S Kevin Winston Jr. (hamstring) were limited participants, while LB James Williams Sr. (wrist) practiced in full.
From TheHuddle
The Houston Texans "would like to find ways to work rookie wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel" into the lineup more, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN. The Texans were happier with their offense in the Week 5 win over the Baltimore Ravens, in which they scored over 40 points, with Higgins and Noel combining for six catches on seven targets for 45 yards. Higgins actually played a season-high 56% of the offensive snaps on Sunday, while Noel was in on 30% of the snaps. It's going to be hard to keep both Higgins and Noel involved in the offense consistently from week to week as long as Nico Collins and Christian Kirk remain healthy. However, it's a good sign for both Higgins and Noel that Houston's offense finally appears to be clicking and that they will continue to find ways to get them involved. It's hard to justify rostering Higgins or Noel in 12-team fantasy leagues at the moment.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Fantasy Spin: Kamara seems to have a good chance to play in Week 6, but fantasy players will know more about his status later in the week. He has been sharing playing time with Kendre Miller over the last few weeks but is still involved in both the running and passing game. He should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues if active.
From TheHuddle
New Orleans Saints CB Isaac Yiadom (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. TE Juwan Johnson (ankle), RB Alvin Kamara (ankle), OG Trevor Penning (ankle), S Justin Reid (concussion), OG Cesar Ruiz (ankle) and DE Chase Young (calf) were limited during practice. OG Dillon Radunz (toe) and DT John Ridgeway (shoulder) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that the Houston Texans still view rookie running back Woody Marks as "predominantly a passing-game back," and one who "had a bit of an injury history in college." It was looking like Marks was taking over the backfield from veteran Nick Chubb when he had a season-high 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown while adding four catches for 50 yards and another TD in the Week 4 win against the Tennessee Titans. However, he was a disappointment in last week's blowout win over the Baltimore Ravens, handling seven carries for 24 yards and failing to reel in his only pass-game target. It means that when Houston is up big, like they were in Baltimore, Chubb will continue to have the playing-time advantage. Marks is still worth rostering in all fantasy leagues, but his backfield takeover in Houston appears to be a little premature.

Green Bay Packers OT Anthony Belton (ankle) and DT Devonte Wyatt (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8. OG Aaron Banks (groin), DE Kingsley Enagbare (ankle), CB Nate Hobbs (concussion), PK Brandon McManus (quadriceps), C Jacob Monk (hamstring), OT Zach Tom (oblique), OT Rasheed Walker (quadriceps), WR Christian Watson (knee) and WR Savion Williams (groin) were limited during practice. TE Tucker Kraft (elbow), QB Jordan Love (ankle, thumb) and OT Jordan Morgan (knee) fully participated in practice.
